Title: New Job
Mad Dog - March 14, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
So I decided to leave Wal-Mart. A combination of things really. Some of it my fault. So now I'm working in the shipping department in a warehouse. Same pay, can actually get overtime and it cuts roughly an hour off of what I was working at Wal-Mart due to the longer lunches and longer drive. Now that would change with overtime but then I don't mind being there an extra hour or two when I'm making time and a half for it.
Now, looking back on Wal-Mart I see where my issues laid for some things. Really it all came down to the fact that I had been unemployed for a long time and spent so much time looking for work that I was just far too willing to flush my life away for a job. Really that was a big issue in hindsight. Stress just started to set in and I didn't have my hobbies to buffer that out. I would just come home, watch tv and sit on my PC.
So there's also a question in all of that mess. I need a hobby or to plan out a busier life. Let's say going out on 1 weeknight and usually having activities for the weekends. A hobby is also a must as I need something that I can throw myself into when things at work start to get hectic and something to just look forward to in general.

I agree with you 100% on that. Basically if I'm not getting paid to do something I love, then I'm just there for the check. Which in turn means you have to deal with countless stressful "work" situations that can make your life hell. The only way out of having that happen to you is the stuff that you enjoy doing in your free time. That why with me I'm so into movies. I have a site that is dedicated to horror flicks, I'm constantly watching them, talking to filmmakers, writing, etc. Besides that I want to write and direct my own flicks, which I'm writing right now. Other than that it's usually social stuff that takes up my time as well as watching wrestling and fucking around on the net. If it wasn't for that stuff, I'd be fucking batshit crazy now because of my job.

Mad Dog, you should consider having your own blog. Gives you something to do and demands that you update if you do it about sports/wrasslin'/ anything with newsiness. Or you could, you know, play racquetball.

Mad Dog should be a bouncer. He seems like the type who doesn't take shit from anyone.

Maybe he could be a racquetball court bouncer who blogs about his experiences. That would take care of pretty much every suggestion so far.
Real F'n Show - April 2, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
Wow, no zookeeper suggestion yet.
Scrooge McSuck - April 2, 2007 06:23 PM (GMT)
You can always clean after the chimps at the local zoo.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 2, 2007 06:30 PM (GMT)
Or you could clean up after Scrooge.
The only real difference is that the monkeys are less likely to fling crap at you.
Or masturbate to old Kane tapes.
Scrooge McSuck - April 2, 2007 06:31 PM (GMT)
Hey!
I only did that once, when I was drunk.
SamoaRowe - April 2, 2007 08:22 PM (GMT)
Yeah, usually it's Isaac Yankem matches that get you wacking.

I do martial arts but my knees and back are so fucked up that I'm not effective in a fight anymore without choking someone out.
