Title: An actual Hall of Fame discussion thread
Description: argue about banners in Flame Wars...

Real F'n Show - February 18, 2007 10:19 PM (GMT)
CLASS OF '07 THUS FAR:
Dusty Rhodes
Mr. Perfect
Jerry "The King" Lawler
Nick Bockwinkle
Mr. Fuji

eStragand - February 19, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
I should make a banner annoucing this :)

Seriously, I have issues with Jim Ross. I'm not a fan of his, but I'm okay with him eventually going ino the Hall of Fame. But don't you have to be somewhat retired or semi-active? Heck, induct Vince McMahon and Michael Cole while they're at it.

Is he the first "active" HOF inductee? Sorry, but that's ridicu.....err, excuse me, BY GAWD, that's just DAMN wrong! I'm also assuming that Lawler's in based on his wrestler career, not necessarily his announcing (or lack thereof).

I know the whole WWE HOF is fairly goofy, but they need some rules, don't they?

They have only one rule. Can we capitalize on this financially?

Yes.

Then it's a go.

whitemilesdavis - February 19, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
I don't see this class as being very good for business...or anything else. Really, if this is all you've got, why not just wait until a year when some worthwhile canidates are available and throw these guys in with that class?

dynamite kido - February 19, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
Well I heard that they invited Bruno again.......................

jamiegeist - February 19, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
Bruno is a no go. He'll be in ROH during Mania.

dynamite kido - February 19, 2007 09:23 PM (GMT)
Apparently you missed the sarcasm there.

SamoaRowe - February 19, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
Bruno snubbing WWE in favor of ROH = awesome.

Real F'n Show - February 19, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
It will be a sad day if Michael Cole is ever inducted. And I'm actually surprised Vince hasn't inducted himself yet, to be honest.

dynamite kido - February 19, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
By the way, if anyone has a chance and goes to the ROH where Bruno will be in attendance.....go meet him. He's a really cool guy and he actually LIKES to talk about pro wrestling.

Real F'n Show - February 20, 2007 04:43 AM (GMT)
MR. PERFECT~!

jamiegeist - February 20, 2007 05:07 AM (GMT)
Markout for Perfect. SO awesome, and the video package was great with all of the old sports videos.

Still a goddam shame he didn't have a World Title.

Although to be honest, Perfect's run with the IC Title in that era, means more than any Randy Orton or Batista World Title run means today.

But he DID.... oh wait, unless you don't count the AWA title. :)

dynamite kido - February 20, 2007 07:36 AM (GMT)
Hell yeah, Mr. MOTHERFUCKIN Perfect!!!!!

Great choice. I'm assuming that the AX will be inducting Mr. P?

Mad Dog - February 22, 2007 04:12 AM (GMT)
Announcers shouldn't be in unless they've retired. What's wrong? Couldn't get the contracts signed this year for some good wrestlers?

dynamite kido - February 22, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
It does seem like they are stuggling a bit to get inductees this year. With Rhodes (who works for the company already) and Perfect (deceased) going in, I think that's pretty evident.

whitemilesdavis - February 22, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
Steamboat works for them.

I know this, but I wonder if they do.

TehDoct0r - February 25, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
I think Dusty is thought of highly enough to be the marquee star for this year. Wasn't he asked to go in last year but declined to because he didn't want to be overshadowed by Eddie and Bret?

I have absolutely no problem with Dusty and Curt. I wonder who will be inducting these fine fellows.

I think that the WWE were the ones that came up with that, not the Dust himself.

TehDoct0r - February 25, 2007 10:48 PM (GMT)
Aha. That makes me like him even more.

I'd be willing to bet on Flair inducting Dusty and The Axe inducting Hennig...

whitemilesdavis - February 26, 2007 01:12 AM (GMT)
I wonder if they hold back on Steamboat due to the legality issues with using his name?

I didn't know there was any. What's the deal with that???

whitemilesdavis - February 26, 2007 02:20 AM (GMT)
He lost some rights to his name in hid divorce to his wife. WWE was trying to work something out, but I don't know the latest.

TehDoct0r - February 26, 2007 03:06 AM (GMT)
Whoa. He lost the rights to his NAME in a divorce? Well I guess it's better than the kids.

Real F'n Show - February 26, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
I have no idea where I saw this earlier today, but I swear I read that Nick Bockwinkle is going in this year.

TehDoct0r - February 27, 2007 12:50 AM (GMT)
I believe I read that it was announced at some random indy show in Las Vegas that was headlined by El Hijo de Santo and a 250lb Billy Kidman vs Psicosis and La Parka.

That sentence made my head explode.

Real F'n Show - February 27, 2007 01:01 AM (GMT)
Ah, that's right. So who knows if there's any truth to it. Guess we'll just have to wait and find out, but I'm hoping he gets in.

That would be great actually. It's someone I voted for for the DWB HoF.

Real F'n Show - February 27, 2007 01:07 AM (GMT)
I think he just missed the cut for me. But my list is PACKED.

Real F'n Show - February 27, 2007 04:22 AM (GMT)
The King is now officially being inducted.

prof_plague - March 3, 2007 07:49 AM (GMT)
And shall be inducted by the Kat.

TehDoct0r - March 3, 2007 05:52 PM (GMT)
All his ex-wives, in fact.

SamoaRowe - March 3, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
Can the building even hold that many people?

TehDoct0r - March 3, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
Can the Garden hold 29,000?

Real F'n Show - March 3, 2007 08:12 PM (GMT)
It will this night.

prof_plague - March 4, 2007 08:37 AM (GMT)
Far as I know he's only been divorced...three...times.

TehDoct0r - March 4, 2007 06:50 PM (GMT)
That's an exponent for something, right?

Scrooge McSuck - March 7, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
Add Nick Bockwinkel (sp) to the list.
