I got into this show back in the fall and while I kinda' like, I hesitate from REALLY liking it.

Anyways, I watched the "season 3.5" opener last night and it reminded me why I'm hesitant. For one, there's a big reason why they don't show more mano-a-mano with the Cylon "toasters"-- they did an outdoor ambush scene, and cripes, was it crappy.

Some of the characters, like Starbuck or Chief Tyrol come off as believable, but when they spout out stuff like "I've always felt I had a destiny", it's a strain on me. For a show that relies on the acting more than the action, it can be bothersome. Adama and Rosling usually make up for the weak points, though.

It's also a bit frustrating that with all the shake-ups they went through last year, that everything's right back to status quo. Except that the Bald Old Guy now wears an eyepatch.

It's a decent show, but I stop short of "fanatic". If you had told me at age 5 that I'd be watching an improved version of "Galactica" as an adult... well, I probably would've called you a big dumb poopie fart.

I've been meaning to watch this for sometime, considering I ususally watch most of the crappy Sci-Fi movies and whatnot and they bombard them with commericals for it.

I've heard it's pretty good, but when I don't watch a show from the beginning it's hard for me to get into.

I was the same way. The only reason I got caught up was due to all the episodes archived on OnDemand. Less time and you only have to sit through one commercial.

SciFi also put out a special that recapped everything up to the season premiere. Look around for that you'll be ready to jump in.

Oh yeah, also wanted to mention that Xena has aged nicely. But I don't think she'll be around much more.

I'm getting the first season through Blockbuster Online soon.
