Scrooge McSuck - January 19, 2005 04:14 AM (GMT)
If I had PPV access, they have me sold on Hardy/Abyss and the Iron Man (most likely 30 minutes) alone. I will say fuck TNA for the horrible main event being booked, but that may change if Nash pulls a Savage (hopefully it's no-sell jobbing... or maybe break something).

dynamite kido - January 19, 2005 04:16 AM (GMT)
I must admit that I am perplexed* by the Jeff Hammond situation........or I just hate it.

Big F'N Swigg - January 19, 2005 04:19 AM (GMT)
Just when I think I can predict what's going to happen, they go in completely different directions.

TehDoct0r - January 19, 2005 04:20 AM (GMT)
Yea, Jeff Hammond?

Raven/Rhodes has an outside chance at being good, along with the tag titles.

The TLC match will kick ass if Hardy kills himself and Abyss goes over.

The Title match sucks any way you slice it.

Styles/Daniels will own all ass.

Scrooge McSuck - January 19, 2005 04:22 AM (GMT)
Styles vs. Daniels: Owning My Ass™ since 11:14 pm of 1/18/05

Told ya.

Scrooge McSuck - January 19, 2005 04:40 AM (GMT)
Meltzer also added on Scott Hall vs. Diamond Dallas Page for AAO.

Sad thing is......I am actually starting to feel BAD for DDP.

Big F'N Swigg - January 19, 2005 03:08 PM (GMT)
Are they booking these feuds PPV to PPV? Is that what's going on? If so, they need to stop.

TehDoct0r - January 19, 2005 03:19 PM (GMT)
Well, Scott Hall proved he could still have watchable matches with Garza and Styles, and then they stuck him with Hardy. DDP proved he could still have decent matches with Raven. So put them together, and I bet we get something watchable.

I'm sorry, but that logo is Ten THOUSAND times better than any WWE has put out lately.

Scrooge McSuck - January 19, 2005 03:47 PM (GMT)
I liked the News Years Revolution one with Batista and the Dragon in the background.

Except I'll take Batista, HHH, and Flair over Hall, Nash, and Jarrett.

.... Hot fucking dog. I'm so buying this PPV...

Big F'N Swigg - January 20, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
They should've put Daniels and Styles in the poster.

whitemilesdavis - January 20, 2005 01:34 AM (GMT)
I can't believe y'all are so into this because of that one match. The rest of it looks dreadful. I guess Styles/Daniels could be worth the cost itself, but nothing else even has the chance to be decent.

TehDoct0r - January 20, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
Well, as illustrated by my first post in this thread, some of us disagree with you.

::shrugs:: Different strokes for different folks.

Scrooge McSuck - January 20, 2005 03:42 AM (GMT)
What'chu talkin about, Doctor?

TehDoct0r - January 20, 2005 03:56 AM (GMT)
He says nothing else has a chance to be decent, and I respectfully disagree with his statement. Now go home, Gary.

Scrooge McSuck - January 20, 2005 03:58 AM (GMT)
I agree with him except for Abyss/Hardy. If Hardy isn't whacked out on something, it will be good at least. Abyss is a very good bumper for someone 6'6"+ and 335 lbs., and Hardy is a crazy mother with it comes to ladders and tables spots.

whitemilesdavis - January 20, 2005 01:31 PM (GMT)
The only thing that could possibly be watchable is if Hardy is able to do his crazy spots, which I don't think he is. AMW, though good, don't have the ability to carry Kash/ Dallas. I guess Hall vs. DDP could be watchable, but it has no meaning behind it.

I'll also say If the X-match goes how I think it will, TNA will have the X-title more important than their world title. That's not terrible, at least one of their titles will have meaning. I know in ECW the TV title was more prominent than their heavyweight title for a while, and that wasn't necessarrily a bad thing.

Scrooge McSuck - January 20, 2005 01:44 PM (GMT)
Not to start an argument, but TNA usually did book the X-Division Title as the Main Event of at least half the $10 PPV's. The first half-year was mainly X-Division Main Events.

2003 kinda had a slowdown, thanks to horrible reigns by Sonny Siaki and Kid Kash (before he was allowed to do anything), and meaningless matches (countless) against the Not-So-Amazing Red and Jason Cross.

2004 picked up though, I think.

TehDoct0r - January 20, 2005 04:10 PM (GMT)
Pre-knee injury Red was awesome. And I like Jason Cross.

::crosses arms and pouts::

Yeah, early on they were highlighting the X-division, but like you said, it just kind of became their mid-card title. So yeah, not a bad thing, just an observation.

Though I was never crazy about Red, he was definitely an exciting performer pre-injury. I wish they'd bring back Jason Cross.

Scrooge McSuck - January 20, 2005 06:04 PM (GMT)
My problem with Cross is, he wasn't that exciting, and when he did show promise, they stuck him in the ring with someone like Siaki who is the exact opposite of an X-Division Wrestler. Even X (Quebecer Pierre) was more X-Division than him.

*Jeff Jarrett vs. Kevin Nash for NWA title

-Honestly, I'm surprised that they are even doing anything like this. The match would be terrible, and the funny thing is.....the live crowd is going to shit all over this, especially if there is ANY match of value right before it.

QUOTE
*Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy in a TLC match

-I can't believe people here are actually thinking that this match has ANY chance of being decent. I like Abyss and all, but there isn't ANYONE on earth that could possibly make Hardy look decent. I feel bad for Abyss, and I would be surprised if this match is anything more than some major highspot set up for Hardy. Plus, if Abyss loses........they would renew their retard membership.

QUOTE
*A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels in an Iron Man match for the X title

-I can't lie, I'm a total mark for this match. I was lucky enough to see it live in person last year at IWC's Super Indy 3 show......and I WOULD order this show just for this match. Plus on the fair side, TNA has done a lot better on PPV than I expected (even match quality wise).

QUOTE
*AMW vs. Kid Kash & Dallas for the tag titles

-This one could be decent. Honestly, the wild card in this match is going to be Kash. Now, I'm not exactly HUGE on Kash or anything....but he is the most capable wrestler in this match IMO. If he is motivated(which I find hard to believe he is, considering how publically vocal he's been about AMW) then he should actually make this match into something interesting. Otherwise, this match has the possiblity to be a giant clusterfuck as Storm/Harris are alright and nothing more, and Dallas is fucking awful.

QUOTE
*Dustin Rhodes vs. Raven

-This match has potential. I don't think many people can claim that Rhodes doesn't try and him and Raven could be a pretty decent brawl. Then again, this match might depend greatly on how it's booked.

QUOTE
*Road Dogg & Jeff Hammond vs. Michael Shane & Frankie Kazarian

-I have zero interest in this at all.....and that would even be if Hammond was replaced with someone else as well.

TehDoct0r - January 20, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
There's something to be sad about PCO. He shouldn't be as entertaining as he is at this stage in his career, but he's a guy I love watching.

As far as Siaki goes, I like some of his stuff, but he got really uninspired there for a long while. I guess it shows with his current non-existant push.

Scrooge McSuck - January 20, 2005 06:54 PM (GMT)
It doesn't help either that fans and critics reffer to him as "The Rock Wannabe", and he's just not naturally charismatic enough in the ring for high flying/impact matches. He has a boring moveset and maybe will pull off something from the top rope now and then.

I don't think it could be a decent match. I was singing the Hardy sucks song long before most. However, If they do some crazy high spot stuff, and put Abyss over as a psycho killer, it could be entertaining. I could enjoy watching Hardy do a face dive from about 30'.

Unfortunately, Rhodes won't be the weak link in this match.

If they changed Hammond for Truth, this could be quite enjoyable, as is it will no doubt suck.

Siaki has been very effective as a heel champion in GCW recently. His ring work is fine, but his promos/charisma are really coming along nicely. I'd like to see him reinserted into the main event mix in TNA.

The Last Free Voice - January 20, 2005 09:08 PM (GMT)
You want SONNY SIAKI in the main event mix? He's decent, maybe even pushing good, but MAIN EVENT? Are we THAT desperate for new talent that you want Sonny, who has never really gotten over without some sorta dumb gimmick (Elvis, Rock Wannabe, Ace in the Hole) to get a shot? I'm sorry WMD, but I don't think you're right here.

Scrooge McSuck - January 20, 2005 09:13 PM (GMT)
LFV is currently the smartest person besides me logged on to this board. Way to go Super-Mod!

whitemilesdavis - January 20, 2005 09:15 PM (GMT)
I'm definitely not talking about immediately. It would certainly take a proper push and the right set of circumstances. It's just that I've seen him improving greatly on the indies, and I think it could carry over to TNA.

Now that I think about it though, I would take him right now over Nash, Hall, DDP, Hardy, or Raven.

Scrooge McSuck - January 20, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
I still like Raven, although he doesn't belong near the main event (and isn't booked as such). DDP is a maybe, but everyone else I agree. Nash sucks, Hall sucks more, and Hardy is a waste of time and money and effort.

And LFV, in response to my last post, do you think Siaki is just totally useless, or do you agree that with the proper push he could be a star?

Scrooge McSuck - January 20, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
He needs a complete overhaul in his look. He seriously looks like a Bush-League Rock imitation.

whitemilesdavis - January 20, 2005 09:36 PM (GMT)
That's just the way he looks. I guess he could wear a mask or get really fat.
