Wow, an all mid-card show. Actually looks kinda fun in an odd sorta way.

Was the Big Cat Curtis Hughes?

eStragand - January 18, 2007 04:24 AM (GMT)
Some embellishment on the reviews would be nice. A little info on Beast and Kalua would be nice (was Kahlua a chunky pacific islander dude? If so, he was in the AWA around 86). I mean, who were Magnum Force and did Ted Nugent just do the job to Luger?!

I have no idea. He was chunky but I don't know who they are.

If so, he was in the AWA around 86).

I guess they were a jobber tag team. I never heard from them again.

No. It was some fat guy Paul E. found in a bar.

Big cat was Curtis Hughes.

Scrooge McSuck - January 21, 2007 07:01 AM (GMT)
Timmy has a good point... a lot of these no names are very much unknown.

Kalua and the Botswana Beast I've never seen before (both are big black guys). Starlbazer (not Blue Blazer) was just a masked Jobber, like Galaxian 1, 2, 6. And who's Ted Nugent?

As for Brad Armstrong... no Candyman reference? :D

BTW, your views on the show are pretty much the same as mine. Way too many jobber matches and sucky shit between hacks like Adam Bomb... I mean Nightstalker, MCMM, and the Tag Match for the Tournament at Starrcade.

Timmy8271 - January 21, 2007 08:24 PM (GMT)
I forgot to mention, Starblazer was Tim Horner under the mask.

Scrooge McSuck - January 21, 2007 08:57 PM (GMT)
Wha??! Weird. Horner isn't that bad of a wrestler, and the match was really sloppy.

whitemilesdavis - January 22, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
I haven't seen this match (lately) but Horner was a fantastic worker. Still, seems like he was sent out for pretty much one reason, and that wasn't to have a good match.

Scrooge McSuck - January 22, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
Why throw him under a shitty mask, instead of say, a Joey Maggs or some other undercard loser? It's not like Horner had a reputation to protect. He was an on-again-off-again partner with Brad Armstrong to job in tag matches.

whitemilesdavis - January 22, 2007 01:29 AM (GMT)
I guess he could do the job better than Maggs, etc. Not sure why they put the mask on him, but booker's seem to like to do that occasionally.

Scrooge McSuck - January 22, 2007 01:34 AM (GMT)
(shakes head in shame)

No wonder Ole Anderson was fired a week later. When you can't book an undercard right (Rotundo vs. Horner? I'm there!), how can you take him seriously when he does the Black Scorpion crap?

Timmy8271 - January 22, 2007 03:44 AM (GMT)
I'll post the match if you want to see it.

Scrooge McSuck - January 22, 2007 04:14 AM (GMT)
Which match? If you mean Rotundo/"Starblazer", I have this show. I can barely sit through half of it before I hit fast forward to see Flair/Reed, the only match worth the time of day, since it was part of a storyline between Doom/Horsemn.

Timmy8271 - January 22, 2007 05:23 AM (GMT)
Ya I meant that match. Nevermind then.

I kinda liked Pillman/Landell. Pillman was on fire during this time and Landell is just Landell.

whitemilesdavis - January 22, 2007 01:34 PM (GMT)
Nah, put it up. I'm all for an obscure Tim Horner match.

Timmy8271 - January 22, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
It's up.

whitemilesdavis - January 23, 2007 02:22 PM (GMT)
Ahh, it wasn't that bad. Just a basic jobber match, which is all it was ever intended to be. I was really digging Horner's gear there. he should have dressed like that all the time.
