This was around Fall 1989, wasn't it?

Just curious who was playing the heel in the Dr. Death/Rotunda match. Was Rotunda still in his Syracuse gear, or was he the full-fledged ship captain at this point? Was it some sort of "Varsity Club EXPLODES" angle?

Scrooge McSuck - January 1, 2007 08:19 PM (GMT)
What was up with the constant flip-flopping of Rotundo's name in WCW?

And for the record, it is Rotundo, in case this argument comes up.

eStragand - January 1, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
It's not "Rotundi"?

I noticed the flip-flopping in CWF, too. I think it's because "rotunda" is a regular word-- a building with a snazzy dome in it, like the William McKinley Memorial in Canton (hey! Learn something new here at DWB!!). It's possible that alot of spell-checkers flag "Rotundo" as being incorrect.

Mad Dog - January 1, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
Just depended on the production people. I mean I think Ric Flair had entire runs in the 70s where they called him Rick the entire time. I know the WWWF and AWA did it.

Timmy8271 - January 2, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure Rotundo was the heel. It's been a while since I've seen this show. It was called Fall Brawl 89.
