Comments: Good opener. Kinda long but the express are good in long matches.

2. Great muta vs Steven Casey

The only reason i'm reviewing this match is because Muta is in it. Muta during this time period was great. Steven Casey bores me to tears. After some stalling by Muta, Muta sprays him in the eyes and just beats up casey. Dropkick from the top rope by muta. Casey goes after muta's arm and muta goes after Casey's leg. Spinning leg hold by muta. Casey tries a come back but Muta is just too smart for him. Casey makes a mistake and Muta takes advantage. Plancha by Muta. Somersault elbow by muta. Muta then hits a moonsalt for the 123.

Comments: OK match. Muta is just outstanding.

3. JYD vs Butch reed

This match is what you expect from 1989 JYD. Way past his prime. But JYD does have a cool entrance with a cajun band. JYD whips Reed into Hiro Matsuda and pins reed for the 123.

4. Dick Murdoch vs Bob Orton Jr.

They start off with a series of back and forth fireman's carry's. Murdoch goes after Orton's arm. Orton reverses it and goes after murdoch's arm. We see Pat o'conner and Dory Funk Jr. in the crowd. Murdoch goes after Orton's arm again and orton hits an elbow to the eyes. Orton then puts on a armbar. Funny moment as Murdoch looks at Orton when he's in the armbar and goes "what the fuck?". We see Gene Kiniski, Lou Thesz, Sam Muschnick and Buddy Rogers in the crowd. Cheap shot by orton and we get a standoff. Stomps, kneedrops and fistdrops by orton. They then punch each other with Murdoch taking the advantage. Dropkick by murdoch on orton who sells it great. Murdoch elbow's orton right in the throat. Murdoch goes for the brainbuster but Gary hart trips him and orton pins him 123. Winner: bob Orton

Comments: I liked this match a lot. It's not Angle/Beniot but just an old-school fight. The finish is stupid but good match none the less.

6.Ranger Ross vs Iron Sheik

Ross enters the arena from the roof. It's very weird seeing sheik in wcw. Sheik attacks ross from behind. Ross hits a suplex. I'm guessing Sheik wants to make ross humble. They trade abdominal stretches. Sheik misses a senton. Kick to the head by ross and Morgan comes in with the flag for a dq. Junkyard dog makes the save.

comments: Not much of a match. The entrances for both men lasted longer.

Bob Caudle interviews the World title challenger: Ric Flair.

7. US tag title match: Ric Steiner and Eddie gilbert with Missy Hyatt vs Danny Spivey and Kevin Sullivan

Missy is looking mighty nice. Funny hearing Michael Hayes call her a "broad". The varisty club attacks fist. Spivey hits a nice slam on Gilbert. Weird looking gutwench by Spivey. The heels keep steiner distracted and beat up gilbert. Sullivan hits his famous stomp. Tree of woe by sullivan. He misses it the second time. Gilbert tags in Steiner. Belly to belly by steiner. Gilbert his sullivan with missy's purse for the 3. The heels beat up gilbert after the match.

That looks like one of the better Clashes they did.

Was Steve Casey any relation to Scott Casey?

I remember that annoying "NWA: We Wrestle" thing. Kinda' goofy that they were ripping the WWF while having guys like Ranger Ross, Norman and WWF cast-offs like JYD, Orton and Shiek.

Timmy8271 - December 20, 2006 03:41 AM (GMT)
I don't think they are related.
