San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl:
TCU vs. Northern Illinois

The Blue Bowl is obviously a must watch. Just to see "The U" probably play quarter-ass and lose to Nevada.

Oregon/BYU is quite a good matchup for the Las Vegas bowl. BYU = best non-BCS team in the nation.

Time for my annual joke: all of these games should be called "Saucers", not bowls. What's not as big or as deep as a bowl? A Saucer.

Somehow Iowa snuck into the Alamo Bowl this year. Probably to get destroyed by Texas Tech or someone...

Suddenly the Peach bowl is the "Chic-Fil-A Bowl"

Hasn't there been a Chic-Fil-A Bowl for at least a few years now?

It was the "Chic-Fil-A Peach Bowl." But they dropped the Peach part of the name this year.

It's sad, to me. Just killing traditional stuff for the sake of $$$

Relax. The original reason for any bowl game was.... $$$

I know. But they could at least have kept the original names. I mean, it's not like the "Insight.com Bowl" or anything. It was the Peach Bowl long before Chic-Fil-A was anything but a mall food court staple

If KFC was smart, they'd find a way to steal Chic-Fil-A's sponsorship and name it the "KFC Bowl". Can't beat that kind of product promotion.

The Peach Bowl simply didn't have the long "hallowed" history of the Rose Bowl, Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl (although the former Peach Bowl has had some good match-ups the last two or three years). It was a relative newcomer, beginning in the late 60's.

So Florida is really surprising me.

I must admit, as a Tennessee fan who hates both teams passionately, I really didn't think I'd care. When OSU scored on the opening kickoff, I was a little surprised, and nervous about SEC pride. But MAN, did Florida take it to OSU.

I would think Florida's throttling of Ohio State would put to rest those rumblings about Boise State being #1. But once again, I imagine folks will be whining for a "Plus One" game, where Boise State would've faced Florida.

Turn your TV to b/w mode. All that orange and blue would be sick. Get POST to sponsor it and you'd have the Fruity Peebles Bowl.

I have to admit, all of this stuff about the game has made me really hate college football.
