Title: What's up DWB?
Description: It's 3:00am and I can't sleep.

The Last Free Voice - November 30, 2006 08:23 AM (GMT)
It's three am and I can't sleep, and since Ernie messaged me on myspace and told me to get my ass back here, I thought I'd check in and ask a resounding "What's up?".

So, What's up?

I've been working a lot recently, aside from that and school, guitar lessons/practicing is taking up most of my time. I go to a few shows here and there too. Getting new gear (Guitar and amp) for X-Mas, so I should finally be able to (try to, i guess) get a real band going.

That's about all that I've been up to. Hardly ever watch any wrestling anymore. I'll catch TNA if I remember the timeslot change, and I'll watch ECW for Punker, but that's about it. Saw a bit of Surivior Series, and wasn't really that impressed. And jeezus, has ROH fallen off the face of the earth?!

Okay. Hi and bye.

SamoaRowe - November 30, 2006 04:06 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I've been disappointed with the lack of attention that ROH has been getting lately, as the quality of their shows continues to be impressive.

I frequently forget about the TNA time change too. I typically catch the Saturday replays instead of the Thursday airing.

I'm with you LFV with not having time to watch that much wrestling anymore. My writing and site have been keeping me extra busy. Although I manage to catch TNA PPV's, a random WWE one here and there, but I haven't watched ROH or Japanese stuff in a LOOOOOOONG time.

Princess Leena - December 1, 2006 01:59 AM (GMT)
I don't watch WWE because it's terrible. ROH is too much effort. Even when I can download them.

whitemilesdavis - December 1, 2006 01:54 PM (GMT)
I watch RAW most weeks because it's convenient. Pretty much watch nothing else. I sneak in old Mid-atlantic stuff every time I get the chance.

Big F'N Swigg - December 1, 2006 04:50 PM (GMT)
Honestly, I just watch ECW & TNA. And they're both trying hard for me not to watch

Real F'n Show - December 1, 2006 05:24 PM (GMT)
Smackdown, ROH, and NOAH are where it's at, bitches.

But honestly, all the wrestling I've watched in the last few months has been stuff I've downloaded.

Although I will have to say that when 24/7 gets in my area (soon by the way) my wrestling watching is gonna go up about 10 fold. I've been in the mood for some good old school for a while now.

SamoaRowe - December 1, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
Smackdown was been bringing the quality lately. It really makes me wish I was home on Fridays.

Show, do you DL entire shows or just matches?

Real F'n Show - December 1, 2006 06:24 PM (GMT)
Just matches usually. Between DVDVR and Smarkschoice matches folders I see pretty much all I want to see.

Big F'N Swigg - December 1, 2006 06:31 PM (GMT)
See, that's where my problem lies. I'm more of an entire show kind of person. I can watch individual matches, but I prefer entire shows.

To throw in my two cents, after 4 months, I finally got tired of old school wrestling. It's good in small doses, but 6-7 shows a week, every week? Yipes.

Rule of thumb: Fast forward undercard junk.

Yup. I concur completely. For the first month I had to watch and tape EVERYTHING. Got old, quick.

I just stick to the stuff I really want to watch-- TNT, Prime Time, the "Old School" Arena shows and any big PPV that looks interesting. The Hall of Fame series was cool at first, but they're a fairly half-ass effort at a documentary.

The NWA TBS shows are complete FF jobs. I watched the first two and honestly feel that I lost 41 braincells.

I started a "snippets" disc, where I just record random shit or show excerpts. Stuff like Jimmy Valiant in war paint, Dusty with the gorilla, HHH vs. Slaughter's Boot Camp match, Vampiro vs. Demon, etc.

Scrooge McSuck - December 6, 2006 02:11 PM (GMT)
Ditto on the NWA shows. My God, throw us a bone once in a while, and I don't mean a feature match featuring a Russian or Ron Garvin.

Just record the promos by Flair, Dusty, the Andersons, and Blanchard, and that's it. 99.999999999% of the matches are 6:00 of hell squash matches, and it's the same jobbers every week, with "New" names like Gerald Finly, Gerald Findlay, and Gerald Finley.
