This is the first review I did a while back. It's probably a little too detailed but though I would post it.

Clash 1 3/27/88 from Greensburo

Announcers: Tony Schivanie, Jim ross and bob Caudle

1.TV title: Mike Rotunda vs Jimmy Garvin:

This is a 3 5 minute round match with 1 count pinfall. Jimmy starts off with a vary of moves including arm drags and bodyslams. Rotunda comes back with a clothesline and throws him throat first into the top rope. Mike takes him to the mat to end the first 5 minute period. Garvin throws rotunda off the ropes to start the second period. Sullivan goes after precious and Garvin attacks. Rotunda rolls up Garvin for the pin. Garvin puts the brainbuster on Routunda when Rick Steiner come out and attacks Garvin. But wait there's more: Precious attacks steiner with a long stick and kevin sullivan with a coat hanger!!

comments: The rules of the match really killed it in my book. Not bad per say but short and had a bad finish.

2. US Tag team title match: The Fantastics( Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton) Vs The Midnight express(Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton) With jim cornette

The match starts right off with a big brawl. The Fantastics take control to start off. Lane nails rogers with a Chair and does the same to Fulton. Cornette throws chairs at the fantastics. The Express taker over by doing a great double team move on Rogers. Kinda like total elimination with a Clothesline. Eaton hits rogers with a table that cornette is holding!! The heels continue to nail rogers with moves. Eaton hits a beautiful Elbow drop and tags in Lane. The express hits a nice Demoltion finisher type move. Eaton slams Rogers on a Table and it doesn't break. Eaton then bulldogs rogers on the table!! Rogers continues to take a whole lot of punishment by the express. He makes a tag but the ref doesn't see it. The ref is thrown over the top rope. Eaton gets hit by the racket on accident. Fantastics hit the rocket launcher for the 123. But wait: the original ref comes in and dq's the fantastics so the express retain the belts. Cornette then goes crazy and hits the refs with the racket. Bobby Fulton gets the blackjack and whipped like a dog. Tommy Rogers make the save.

Comments: Great, Great match. Lots of action and brawling. The express were awesome during this time and so were the fantastics. what a fued and what a match.

3. Chicago barb wire street fight: Dusty Rhodes and Road warriors vs Ivan Koloff and the Powers of Pain

The ring is surronded by barb wire. The fans chant weasal at Paul Jones. The faces attack the heels and it's a total brawl. Warlord goes after the injured eye of Road warrior animal. Dusty nails Barbarian with a ddt. Barbarian misses a top rope move and the faces win. After the match, The powers of pain continue to take out animal's eye.

Comments: Can't really call a match like this. It was just a total brawl with punches and kicks.

4. Tag team title match: Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard vs Lex Luger and Barry Windham

Luger and Blanchard start off. The heels try to double team right away but luger takes control with a double clothesline and powerslam. Luger tries the Torture rack but anderson attacks. The heels go after luger's leg. Luger gets to the corner and tags Windham. Windham lariat's blanchard. Sleeper hold to blanchard which Windham holds all the way to the outside. Windham punches Arn in the corner. Abdominal stretch by windham. JJ distracts and Arn lays the ddt on windham. Great Spinebuster by Arn. Windham comes back with a body press on blanchard. Doesn't last long as tully tags Arn. Tully hit's the slingshot on barry. Barry kicks out at 2. Finally he makes the tag to luger and here comes luger. All four men are in. JJ has a chair but Arn runs into it and luger pins Arn and we got NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!

Comments: Good match and they are able to carry Luger. Anderson/Tully are really good and the finish was hot.

5. NWA World title match: Champion Ric Flair vs Sting: Judges: Jason Hervey, Gary Juster, Sandy Scott, 1988 Pet of the year Patty Mullen, and eddie Haskell. Jj dillon in a cage over the ring

This is the famous 45 minute match that made sting a superstar. Usually i'm not into these type of long matches but i thought i would review it. After a feeling out process, Sting sends Flair to the outside with a dropkick for more stalling. Sting takes it to flair with a series of moves including arm drags, body presses and a nice head sissors. He takes it to the mat with a headlock. Sting continues his assault with ANOTHER headlock. Sting gets lacerated with a flair chop so that tells you how stiff they are. Sting finally misses a dropkick as flair does the flair flop. Sting puts on another damn headlock as the Penthouse pet looks bored and sleepy. Flair tries to roll sting over by grabbing the trunks. After 10 minutes, sting is just controlling flair. Flair catches sting with a shot to the ribs and some classic chops. Sting hits a very nice body press and a bearhug. It's kinda weird seeing sting put on a bearhug. While Sting has the bearhug on for what seems like 10 minutes, he nails flair with shots to the ribs. Sting misses a Stinger splash in the corner and goes down hard. Flair then hits sting with an atomic drop and goes out of the ring. He whips sting into the gaurdrail multiple times. Flair "whoo's" and you know he's taking control. Flair controls the back and ribs of sting as he finally sells for flair. This is flair at his best as he lays in the kneedrops. Flair takes it to the outside again and hits sting with the guardrail. Sting starts to no sell the chops and starts another comeback. But wait, he misses a clothesline and nails the ring post. Flair goes after the arm and takes advantage.I be damn sting comesback again and goes for a 3 count but only gets 2. He his a nice Outside, inside suplex and goes for the Scropian. At the 25 minute mark, Sting is in control. Sting goes for another 2 count. Flair ducks and sting goes over the top rope. Sting no sells another hangman and does a botched body press for a 2 count. Finally, Flair goes after the leg. Sting finally sells the knee. Flair continues going after the knee and hits sting with a backdrop. OH YEAH, It's time for the figure four. Classic Flair as he holds the ropes for leverage as Dillon cheers him on. Somehow, Sting reverses it and flair gets the brunt of the force. He gets to the rope. Sting no sells the damage his knee got and makes yet another comeback. Sting goes after Flair's leg. Flair does the Flair bump in the corner and goes outside as the announcers go Crazy. Sting nails flair's head on the judges table. Flair goes for the sunset flip but sting catches him. Sting no sells the atomic drop and goes for a near fall. Sting misses another stinger splash and fly's to the outside. 3 Minutes remain as flair takes control. Flair goes headfirst into the turnbuckle. Some great nearfalls towards the end of the match. Sting no sells flair's offense and flair begs for mercy. Sting nails the stinger splash with seconds to go. He puts on the Scropian with 20 seconds to go. Flair does not give up as the time limit expires. We go to the judges. Mullen gives it to flair, Juster gives it to sting, Sandy Scott gives it a draw and the match is declared a draw. WHAT A SHITTY ENDING.

Comments: I know people love this match but i say it's overrated. Sure it made sting into a superstar and it was a good match. **** match but not 5. Sting's no selling of flair really pissed me off. Especially the knee part of it. But Flair made sting in this match.

Overall: Highly Recommended and a great clash.

I think that's your best review that I've read. Real since of the action that took place, and what made things work. The way you did your comments was just as useful as a ratings system in thi case. Good job. It made me want to see Clash.

Yeah..I concur with the Honky Injun. An improvement with your presentation and storytelling. You're on the right track.

I added some BOLD headings to make each match pop out a bit more.

It's a whole 'nother debate, but I'm not into star ratings. I just think of movies, where a critic rates both a comedy and a drama at 3 stars. Which says I could see either movie and be equally entertained, but that's not usually the case. I'd say your comments convey whether or not each match was decent.
