Title: NWA on MavTv

Mad Dog - November 7, 2006 06:24 PM (GMT)
Just letting you know. If you go to mavtv.com and sign up for their media player you can watch the new NWA shows for free every week.

SamoaRowe - November 7, 2006 06:54 PM (GMT)
Good to know, I'll look into that.

Mad Dog - November 7, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)
Black Tiger and Puma are teaming up for the opening match.

QUOTE (Mad Dog @ Nov 7 2006, 04:29 PM)
Black Tiger and Puma are teaming up for the opening match.

Oooooh, that does sound like it's worth checking out.

I suddenly have so much wrestling to watch...

SamoaRowe - November 7, 2006 11:04 PM (GMT)
Hmm... can you post a direct link to where I want to go on that site? Most of what I've been seeing there are ads for electronics retailers.

SamoaRowe - November 7, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
Thanks! B)

Mad Dog - November 7, 2006 11:28 PM (GMT)
The organization of shows sucks so just type NWA in the search engine they have.

Mad Dog - November 8, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
Colt Cabana's on the show too.

whitemilesdavis - November 8, 2006 12:29 AM (GMT)
Ahh, so that's why TNT got bumped from Mav. I'll check it out.

Mad Dog - November 8, 2006 12:36 AM (GMT)
Sean Waltman vs. Rocky Romero is up now.

Real F'n Show - November 8, 2006 05:01 AM (GMT)
Romero pulling double duty or was someone else playing Black Tiger?

Mad Dog - November 8, 2006 06:44 AM (GMT)
I think he was pulling double duty.

whitemilesdavis - November 8, 2006 01:13 PM (GMT)
I didn't get to the end, nut it was definitely Romero as Black Tiger. So I got through about 20 minutes or so of that show and I must say, it LOOKS great. Seriously, top notch production. It obviously isn't the same as WWE, but it is perfectly watchable and reminds me of a big-time boxing match. However, some of the "talent" on this show is questionable. You'd think to spend that much money on production, and such a big venue, they'd fork over a few more bucks for some real names. And why is everybody wearing a mask? It just felt sort of silly watching it.

Mad Dog - November 8, 2006 01:14 PM (GMT)
I think this was just a test run. Once the Showcase episodes start up I expect to see a wider range of talent on there.

whitemilesdavis - November 8, 2006 05:58 PM (GMT)
From what I've read, they are gonna do studio shows that build up to big events (like this show). If that's the case, this could be very good.

Mad Dog - November 8, 2006 11:03 PM (GMT)
I think this could be good for Joey Ryan. He has some breakout potential but they need to keep his mic work limited. Though I do agree with you that there were too many masked wrestlers on the show. I thought Plague had some potential too.

As far as who needs to go from that show. Kapu definately needs to go. He sucked pretty badly. I could live with everyone else.

They should get the Dupps though. That redneck act would make them huge heels in the California area. I'd also consider bringing in Buff Bagwell. He may suck but he's star power and studio squashes are perfect for him. Kid Kash, Brent Albright, Monty Brown, Mistico, El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo and Tank Toland would all be good pickups for them.

Mad Dog - November 14, 2006 10:04 PM (GMT)
The Showcase show should be airing sometime this week. It'll be studio styled squash matches.

Mad Dog - November 16, 2006 01:29 AM (GMT)
The Showcase episode is up now and some other fed called XCW or something like that.

whitemilesdavis - November 16, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
Show looks good, and announcer guy #2 is REALLY good.

Romero beat some jobber. Sloppy match, Romero didn't look great.

Carl Anderson and Joy Ryan beat the Young Bucks. Both teams are pretty good. I think Anderson has major potential. OK, maybe major is a big word, but he looks good.

Baby Slim vs. Adam Pierce is up now. Slim has a good look, but needs gear. And I lost the feed. I'm not watching the whole show again. I'm gonna take a look at the other fed.

Mad Dog - November 16, 2006 01:56 AM (GMT)
It's not been so good. Slim's kind of sucky. I have to add that the commercials are absolutely awful.

I like the show. I agree about announcer #2. He reminds me of an old school guy. My biggest complaint is the building they're in is too big for studio styled wrestling.

whitemilesdavis - November 16, 2006 02:00 AM (GMT)
It would be fine if they would narrow the camera view and consolidate the crowd to one side.

Mad Dog - November 16, 2006 02:02 AM (GMT)
I agree. The shots going upwards weren't doing them any favors. I like the team of Ryan/Anderson quite a bit. Definately the highlight so far. I'm not sold on Adam Pearce being a top of the card guy though.

whitemilesdavis - November 16, 2006 02:14 AM (GMT)
Did Pierce win that match? Yeah, he's pretty bad. I am liking Anderson/ Ryan, too, but it may be just because of standing out in a group of turds. Even Rocky Romero looked bad on this show.

whitemilesdavis - November 16, 2006 02:18 AM (GMT)
Trying to watch XCW now, but there must be some congestion on the site. It keeps having to buffer. I feel like I'm on dial up.

whitemilesdavis - November 16, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
Oh wow, this is some scummy, low-budget stuff. Might be good.

Mad Dog - November 16, 2006 02:21 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Pearce rolled him up and used the old feet on the ropes to get the win. If I had to guess Pearce will be walking away with the Heritage belt whenever that tournament is.

whitemilesdavis - November 16, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
XCW was not good.

Mad Dog - December 10, 2006 11:57 AM (GMT)
Ha, looks like I was dead on about Adam Pearce winning the Heritage belt. I haven't watched it the last couple of weeks as I've been busy. But Mav archives the shows so I'll probably catch them during the week.

whitemilesdavis - January 18, 2007 02:57 AM (GMT)
So is anybody still checking the MavTV show? Watching Epi 4 right now. I'll let you know how it turns out.

OK, 1st. They basically have no audience. All emoty arena matches tonight!

1st match is two jobbers vs. E.G.O. E.G.O. is a modern LOD rip-off. actually some decent wrestling in this. Wow, the jobbers almost won. EGO takes it with a roll-up.

Adam Pearce is talking now, but I don't have the sound on. Looks like a solid promo.

Rocky Romero vs. Mick Jackson - You know, rocky has been underwhelming in NWA Summit. Go back to Ricky Reyes. Rocky squashes this guy, and looked a lot better tonight.

A couple of dorks talking now. I can't hear them.

These commercials make me feel dirty.

Johnny Paradise vs. Baby Slim - Not to much hope for this one. My God Slim sucks...and that's way better than Johnny Paradise. Slim stops to dance between every single move. Every single crappy move. Yeah that sucked.

Not a bad show, but certainly not great.

whitemilesdavis - February 4, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
Hey kids, time for my Mav TV capsule again:

Some masked guy named Plague has an opening promo with his manager. Decent look. I'm curious

1st match - Sonny Sampson vs. KAFU - Sampson looks like a jobber KAFU is a big muscle guy. Not a bad match. Sampson used decent psychology working the injured leg. KAFU stays protected enough. His finisher gets a big reaction from the crowd. He could have potential.

2nd match - Rock'n Randy Rocket vs. NWA British Commonwealth Champ Paul Tracey - Wow, looking forward to this... Randy looks good, Tracey needs a tan. Start off with boring wannabe Euro wrestling. Tracey wins with some blown suplex spot. Glad that's over. Rocket was terribly unagile for a flyer. Tracey was trying to play the bland technical master, but just wasn't good enought to make it work.

Promo with Karl Anderson and Joey Ryan. Not half bad really.

MAtch 3 - Nelson Creed vs. Spymaster VII - Spymaster looks like masked Superstar, Nelson Creed looks like a guy named Nelson Creed. Creed gets the win in what was pretty much a squash. Not too bad, if a little generic.

Adam Pierce promo. Looks like he's wearing a John Travolta leisure suit.

And another Stream error, so I'm done. It wasn't a bad show to that point, but Mav's site sucks. I've lost the stream every week now, I think.
