Title: PWI.....

Mad Dog - January 17, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
I've never been able to figure this magazine out. The jumping between mark and smark views on things always annoyed me when reading it. Though I always like picking up the top 500 workers issue for some reason.

Anyone else read this on a regular basis.

I use to buy the magazines on a normal basis, but cut down recently. Some articles are interesting, and I like the flashbacks section, but the stuff I hate (kayfabe crap) outweighs the good.

I used to buy PWI all the time in my mark days, not to mention all the other Apter mags. But between the fact that I basically get all my wrestling info from the observer and the net these days, combined by the fact that not many newsstands by me even sell PWI anymore......I never pick it up now.

I did and still do actually kind of enjoy the kayfabed rankings they do for every fed in there.

That part I actually enjoy. It's the articles though, especially the "letters" sent in, which are clearly fake, that make me hate the flip-flopping.

Yeah, several of their magazines have gone in the trash when an article bounces between mark and smark so much that I get a headache.

I'd hate the magazine, but if it wasn't for them, back in 1997, I wouldn't have found out about ECW, so I don't hate them per se.

I pick of the PWI 500 every year, but other than that I don't read it, aside from at stores sometimes while my girlfriend's shopping or something.

It was then, and it still would be now (if I still bought/read them) my favorite part of the magazine.

I always enjoyed Eddie Ellner though I've no idea if hew as real or another one of Apter's pseudonyms.

If memory serves, they were kayfabe until they bought out Apter's World Of Wrestling smark magazine and then they started incorporating more smark viewpoints.
