Title: OAO PPV Thread: November
Description: Cyber Sunday and Survivor Series...

Real F'n Show - November 6, 2006 12:18 AM (GMT)
Cyber Sunday is tonight. Fortunately I'm not watching and instead opting for the free football game on. But here's how I voted:

ECW Title on the line. No idea why. I couldn't care less.

Eric Bischoff as referee, although all the choices were pretty shitty. Bischoff seemed like the "freshest" choice because the DX/McMahon crap is old and no one wants to see Coach's ass anymore. How sad is that when Eric Bischoff is the freshest choice for a ref?

Shelton Benjamin to face Jeff Hardy. Carlito will win, though.

Piper as Flair's partner. Just because.

Benoit to face Umaga, just because it'd be kickass, even if Benoit loses. Headbutt exchanges would rule. Sandman wouldn't be bad either, but Benoit would be a better match. I'm fearing Kane will win this though, even though he just finished a program with Umaga...

Submission match for the women's title. Because a women's No DQ match would only involve trash can lids and a lumberjack match would suck. At least a submission match could be decent.

Texas Tornado for the 4-team tag. Just because it'd be out of control and I'm sick of tag team turmoil.

SamoaRowe - November 6, 2006 04:32 PM (GMT)
According to 411mania...

Umaga beat Kane

Cryme Tyme won the four-way tag

Lita beat Mickie

Jeff Hardy beat Carlito

Randy Orton and Edge beat DX (Bischoff was the referee)

Ric Flair and Roddy Piper beat the Spirit Squad

Booker T retained the World Heavyweight Championship

Real F'n Show - November 6, 2006 05:07 PM (GMT)
That looks like a bad Raw.

dynamite kido - November 6, 2006 06:01 PM (GMT)
So now that Booker is the Champion of Champions......WTF does that mean?

SamoaRowe - November 6, 2006 06:23 PM (GMT)
It means that Smackdown is the number one brand, yo B)

Yeah, the show does sound rather lackluster, but hey, I didn't order it so I'm happy.

Wow, so it's just like I thought. Totally irrelevant.

SamoaRowe - November 6, 2006 07:24 PM (GMT)
Exactly! Every six months or so the WWE does something to sort of prop Smackdown up and make it look a little less pathetic before going back to ignoring it and celebrating the glory of Raw.

Cyber Sunday does not look like a show I'll ever want to see.

SamoaRowe - November 7, 2006 09:08 PM (GMT)
First match announced for Survivor Series:

Triple H, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, Matt and Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton, Edge, Johnny Nitro, Gregory Helms, and Mike Knox.

And no, I'm not making this up.

Real F'n Show - November 8, 2006 04:41 AM (GMT)
That sounds pretty badass, actually.

dynamite kido - November 8, 2006 02:57 PM (GMT)
Personally, I think that match sounds a bit strange if you ask me.

whitemilesdavis - November 8, 2006 03:06 PM (GMT)
At least Helms gets to hang out with some main-eventers for a few minutes.

dynamite kido - November 8, 2006 03:07 PM (GMT)
I find it strange that they are putting so many mid carders in the match. But I guess they'll be getting the push until SS to make them feel more important on TV.

whitemilesdavis - November 8, 2006 03:09 PM (GMT)
How dare you call Matt Hardy a midcarder...oh wait...

I wish I could call him unemployed. He's fucking terrible.

whitemilesdavis - November 8, 2006 03:11 PM (GMT)
Yes, yes he is.

smkelly13 - November 8, 2006 08:34 PM (GMT)
WWE.com announced that WWE champion John Cena will team with Kane, Lashley, Sabu, and Rob Van Dam in a traditional Survivor Series match at the PPV. ECW champion Big Show will team with M.V.P., Umaga, Finlay, and Test to face Cena's team.

whitemilesdavis - November 8, 2006 08:59 PM (GMT)
Ok, I'm interested in Survivor Series now.

Real F'n Show - November 8, 2006 09:03 PM (GMT)
Definately. Umaga and Finlay on the same team rules.

dynamite kido - November 8, 2006 09:16 PM (GMT)
Now THAT's a fucking SS elimination match.

Surprisingly this is shaping up to be a pretty good show.

S.T. Strickler - November 8, 2006 09:57 PM (GMT)
Looks good so far. Sucks that the Sandman won't be in the match against Big Show's team.

smkelly13 - November 9, 2006 04:26 AM (GMT)
Who the hell is MVP ? And what happened to MNM ?

Wow. That should definitely be a match to watch.

MVP is a new heel on Smackdown, his entire gimmick is that he thinks he's bigger than wrestling and he's all arrogant, etc. So far he's been pure shit.

MNM were broken up back at Judgment Day when they lost the tag titles to London and Kendrick. Nitro and Melina got moved to Raw, and Nitro just won his second Intercontinental title. Mercury got sent to rehab.

The Last Free Voice - November 27, 2006 02:09 AM (GMT)
Wow. CM Punk and HHH doing the opening DX "Are You Ready" thing just now was one of the most surreal things I've seen in ages...

Big F'N Swigg - November 27, 2006 02:41 AM (GMT)

Winner and new Women's Champion: Mickie James.

James left.  Lita demanded that Lilian Garcia come into the ring and say "Let's here it for the greatest Women's Champion of all time".  The fans booed.  Lita freaked out, saying how disgusted she was with the fans and how disrespectful they were.  Cryme Tyme's music hit, and they came out, carrying the box.  Lita was still throwing a tantrum in the ring.

Cryme Tyme said they found a box of her stuff, and they were going to have a tribute sale, a "Ho-sale" if you will.  They started selling her underwear to fans at ringside, for cash.  Lita was freaking out on the mic, while Cryme Tyme kept selling stuff.  They found a Monostat box, read the instructions, then sold it for a dollar.  JBL even got in on it, saying he was the only man in the company without a pair of her panties, so he bought a pair.  JBL asked for change of a hundred, and Cryme Tyme took off with the bill.  Cryme Tyme took out something wrapped in a towel that was "vibrating".  Lita offered to buy that back herself, but they sold it to someone in the crowd for $25.  They then joked that they had something "cheap and wide", and held up the empty box, saying "It's Lita's box".  Cryme Tyme left while Lita continued her tantrum in the ring.

Hilarious

The Last Free Voice - November 27, 2006 04:41 AM (GMT)
It was funny at first, but took wayyyy too long. They should have left after conning JBL out of a hundred.

dynamite kido - November 27, 2006 02:37 PM (GMT)
Fuck that, Cryme Tyme's Ho-sale was fucking great.

Overall the PPV wasn't too bad, although there really weren't any great matches to note. The main event was sloppy as fuck with Batista winning with a fucking belt shot.

Team D-X pulling the clean sweep was pretty weird booking as well. Punk coming off like a star was great, especially when Trips had no choice but to acknowledge it.

Not one other Survivor Series style match really stood out as anything special. Cena's team vs. Show's team was pretty bad overall too. Umaga gets DQ'd almost immediately, and actually the only thing solid about it was when it came down to Show/Finlay vs. Lashley/Cena when the heels worked the southern style tag and worked over Cena good. The match pretty much went to hell though when Finlay was pinned off of a botched spear by Lashley (Finlay was suppost to get speared with the little bastard, but it was timed horribly) and Big show caught the spear into and F-U for the pin.

I also found it hilarious that the ECW PPV is NEXT FUCKING WEEK. I'm predicting lowest buyrate EVER.

SamoaRowe - November 27, 2006 07:02 PM (GMT)
Oh yes, the ECW ppv next week is completely fucked. They through most of their big names into one match, and so far that is the ONLY match announced. Added to it being one week after Survivor Series, and it is doomed. Doomed, I say.

dynamite kido - November 27, 2006 10:15 PM (GMT)
What the hell else could they even do on the PPV outside of the main?

Stryker vs. Sandman?

uh.........yeah.

SamoaRowe - November 28, 2006 01:32 AM (GMT)
Apparently the Hardyz have issued an open challenge for the ECW show too.

jamiegeist - November 28, 2006 04:52 AM (GMT)
So Hardyz v MNM on the ECW PPV -- none of which are ECW wrestlers.

Of course, Mercury was -- but I seriously doubt there is any chance of them bothering to mention it.

SamoaRowe - November 28, 2006 02:22 PM (GMT)
It's good to see MNM back together, and it should make for a great match, though it does feel strange having it on an ECW ppv. It's like Raw/Smackdown vs. Raw/Smackdown, on ECW! Or should I assume that Mercury is officially on Raw now? Bah, I'm confused.

So that's TWO matches on the show now. Otherwise, I agree that Striker vs. Sandman will probably be added, but what else can they do? Dreamer vs. Thorn? Mahoney vs. someone?

dynamite kido - November 28, 2006 03:36 PM (GMT)
I'm sure that for no reason they'll setup another random match that will be added on Smackdown this week too.

Seriously, why even do an ECW PPV? They had a long time to build up for this and they just got lazy, did whatever the fuck they thought of randomly, and the PPV looks like shit. I'm sorry, but it takes a hell of a lot more than an Elimination Chamber for me to blow $40 on a fucking PPV.

SamoaRowe - November 28, 2006 03:49 PM (GMT)
I agree with DK. They had six months to build this ppv. Are there any feuds being blown off? Not really, the only things resembling long term feuds have been Punk/Knox (so far Knox isn't on the card and got buried at Survivor Series) and RVD vs. Heyman.

There were a few things they could have done to add to this ppv. They could have begged and pleaded and thrown money at Masato Tanaka, Lance Storm, and other ECW alumni to come in and patch up the card. They could even have used the same strategy they did for Survivor Series, and announce matches online (easy way to get Sandman/Striker added). But no, the ppv is in less than one week, there are only two matches advertised, and the brand itself is dying a slow and pathetic death.

dynamite kido - November 28, 2006 11:24 PM (GMT)
Hell yeah Rowe. I don't understand why they did the one thing with ECW that it had already built into itself.

They turned something that was distinctively different into the same old blah stuff that they already had. There has been nothing of interest in ECW since it started unless you actually tune in to see what Punk's doing. Which by the way is feuding with a guy over his girlfriend. Not one thing ECW has done (outside of RVD beating Cena at ONS II) that has gotten one ounce of heat either.

Although it'll probably be around for awhile, it IS dying a slow, painful, and pathetic death.

SamoaRowe - November 29, 2006 12:36 AM (GMT)
Damn right. I'll probably end up watching ECW tonight, if only because I'm curious to see if they do anything to try and salvage it.

Big F'N Swigg - November 29, 2006 01:07 AM (GMT)
I thought they were doing good with establishing Hardcore Holly as a strong face, but his re-turn kind of killed that.

Honestly, that turn kind of killed a lot of any heat they had going.

Scrooge McSuck - November 29, 2006 02:08 PM (GMT)
Is this "ECW" or a WCW PPV circa '98? 2 matches announced, and only one of them looks interesting.

For the record, it's not the "Extreme Lackluster PPV Pusher."

Big F'N Swigg - November 29, 2006 07:09 PM (GMT)
I was surprised that all they did last night was push the "Extreme Elimination Chamber" and the Hardys vs. MNM. Really odd.

Honestly, they would have done better not to put Punk in the Chamber, then they could have used him and Knox as a third match.

SamoaRowe - November 29, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I would have personally put Knox and Punk in the chamber, and have maybe done an "extreme rules" Test vs. Dreamer match.

That's just me.
