Title: November Impact Discussion
Big F'N Swigg - November 4, 2006 04:26 AM (GMT)
Ok, so I'm surprisingly interested in where the James Gang angle is going
Big F'N Swigg - November 17, 2006 02:16 PM (GMT)
So, that two hour Impact was so.... scattered
Big F'N Swigg - November 17, 2006 07:06 PM (GMT)
Here's some more thought...
It was basically a one hour Impact with hype videos and two main events.
The "Wrestler's Court," while funny, shouldn't have been seperated into several segments.
Matt Bentley now looks even MORE like a girl.
Who called the "po-po" on the flag burning? And how did the police get there so quickly when it takes them 15 minutes to get to a "real" crime?
I was excited about the James Gang angle until they became the "Voodoo Kin Mafia."
I can't handle two hours of Tenay and West. Hell, I can barely handle an hour

You saying he's hot?

For a crowd of that size, there has to be at least two police officers present, probably a lot more close by considering they are at Universal Studios.

If you had any hope for the James Gang...well, I really don't know what to say.

You know, I still think Tenay is good, and I still think West sucks, and I still think the two of them together can be a bit unbareable. Tenay needs to get back to commentating on wrestling matches, and get away from being so danged entertaining.

TNA's problem...
While they promise a lot of potentially good matches, the actually result, pacing, and overall quality of the booking involved leaves a lot to be diesred.

Kind of like the WWE, except without the promise. It just kind of leaves a lot to be desired. Same thing with WWE PPV's were as TNA PPV's are totally fulfilling.
whitemilesdavis - November 26, 2006 02:31 AM (GMT)
I caught most of Impact this week, and thought it was OK. I actually find most of the angles interesting, but as far as the show goes...too much story, not enough wrestling.

I'll agree with this. Most of my issues with TNA happen to be that watching a show is like getting pushed through a museum
Scrooge McSuck - November 29, 2006 02:04 PM (GMT)
I have to say, I enjoyed tna this week (despite my attempted bias atttitude)... but...
TYSON FUCKING TOMKO!?!? WHAT THE FLYING HOLY FUCK!?!
SamoaRowe - November 29, 2006 06:47 PM (GMT)
Tomko as Christian's lackey works just fine, though Tomko was attrocious in the ring. I forget who (probably Mad Dog) but someone said that Tomko was actually a decent brawler in OVW, so perhaps Tomko will get the same type of smark love that Scott Steiner and Mark Henry were getting earlier this year.

Well, the one positive about Tomko that I'll mention.
A few tours in All Japan for Jamal made Umaga.
Hopefully something good can come out of Tomko's time over there.q
Big F'N Swigg - November 29, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
I think Tomko is actually a positive addition, workrate or not. He gives Christian someone to play off of, and a person to help him cheat in singles matches. Which makes Christian a better heel
Scrooge McSuck - December 6, 2006 02:20 PM (GMT)
You mean TNA is playing off a WWE angle no one gave a shit about the first time. Great idea.
Big F'N Swigg - December 6, 2006 03:03 PM (GMT)
I think it helps Christian's character. It shows that he's insecure about his size/his ability to win without him actually saying it. It's great for a heel
Big F'N Swigg - December 9, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
I have to admit, I laughed through the VKM segment and the Nash segment

It never works though. When was the last time a bodyguard angle went anywhere? Diesel in 93-94? Eh, wasn't remotely over until he got himself over in the Rumble, not by being Shawn's lacky. Sid in '95? That was short term. MENG? I refuse to answer. The list goes on and on.

Hey, I don't think it's a bad idea. Christian wasn't really getting over as a heel, so therefore Tomko is hated enough to push him in the right direction. It's better to have Xian over as a heel than him being a tweener. There's already too many guys that are in the main event picture that are faces to the TNA crowd.
The Last Free Voice - December 10, 2006 06:26 AM (GMT)
So I caught all of Impact for the first time in recent Memory this past week, and I was fairly impressed. I like where LAX have gone, even if it turned both AMW and Petey Williams face.
I'm kind of confused by the world title picture, though. Obviously it's Abyss/Sting/Cage as the focus right now, but haven't the recent adds been hyping Angle's quest for the title? I'm a little confused.
I like the fact that Sabin is back in the X-Title picture.
What the hell is up with Aries/Shelley/Nash and whatever "Series" they've got in the works?
I might order the PPV tomorrow. But I'm quite glad I watched the show. I was pretty entertained.
Real F'n Show - December 15, 2006 03:09 AM (GMT)
Caught some of iMPACT! cuz I'm staying at the 'rentz place for Christmas break, which means no Gears of War crazy roommate hogging the TV even if it is his.
Kurt Angle throwing a European uppercut instead of a simple punch on Eric Young backstage was fucking hilarious.
SamoaRowe - December 16, 2006 05:39 AM (GMT)
Impact did a 1.2 rating this week... their highest ever.
Big F'N Swigg - December 16, 2006 01:13 PM (GMT)
DAMN! I was hoping for a drop so they could dump Russo
Big F'N Swigg - December 22, 2006 08:40 PM (GMT)
I really hated last nights show. Bad editing, bad commentary, serious lack of "action"
jamiegeist - December 22, 2006 08:43 PM (GMT)
Yup, I wasn't feeling this show either. The PSC segment was the best again, but couldn't even save it this week, as it just wasn't funny enough or long enough.
Big F'N Swigg - December 22, 2006 08:44 PM (GMT)
My problem with the PCS stuff is that it's poorly filmed and edited. I know they're going for the "Paparazzi" look, but it takes away greatly from the segments
