Way to stick with Kayfabe
SamoaRowe - October 7, 2006 07:12 PM (GMT)
They could turn this into an angle where Booker and Sharmall are terrified 24/7 because they have to live with the Boogeyman. Then it could lead to Booker/Boogeyman II where Boogeyman wins the World Championship.

Pat Patterson has been hired back by WWE as a "producer" (agent).

It's good to see him feeling well enough to get back to work. I doubt he'll want to keep up with the travel schedule, though.

From WWE.com:
| QUOTE |
This week, the first Intercontinental Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson made his long-awaited return to work as a producer with World Wrestling Entertainment. A mentor to countless WWE Superstars, two months ago, Patterson suffered a very rare abdominal aneurism which required immediate and extensive surgery. Now recovered, Patterson was unquestionably elated to be back on the road, but more importantly, he feels fortunate to be alive.
“I am the luckiest guy alive today,” exclaimed Patterson. “With an aneurism in your stomach and in your blood vessels, normally at five centimeters they operate right away because that bubble that you have on your blood vessel busts and you can die instantly.”
Patterson’s aneurism was 11.9 centimeters. According to the Hall of Famer, his physicians could not understand how he was possibly alive.
“[The procedure] is one of the most dangerous surgeries,” he said. “My chance of surviving the surgery was about 10 percent.”
Undergoing a four-hour intensive surgical procedure that required a cut stemming from his chest to below his stomach, Patterson was hospital-ridden for 10 days. In the weeks that followed his release from hospital care, Patterson required much rest while staying with his sister in Montreal.
“I love the business and I missed it,” he said. “[While recovering] I would watch every show on television just because I like to bitch and complain about some of the things I see. I give my honest opinion.”
Though he has been active – daily exercise and teeing off at the golf course – Patterson stated that physical exertion still makes him very tired. Nonetheless, the WWE producer made it his mission to make it back to the place he calls home.
“I didn’t want to take it easy, I wanted to heal fast,” he added. “I’m feeling very good right. I’m going to be OK. I’m not back to work full time yet, but it’s nice to come back when you’re well appreciated by the WWE Superstars and crew. I’m thankful that I’m here today.” |
Scrooge McSuck - October 16, 2006 01:24 PM (GMT)
I thought Pat had been back for months.
dynamite kido - October 16, 2006 04:56 PM (GMT)
Pat may be gone at times, but he truly never leaves.
That Patterson is sure one resilient homo.
Real F'n Show - October 24, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
Tully Blanchard was hired the other day as an agent.
Today we have:
Afa Jr.
Eddie Colon
And they're trying to sign Monty Brown and Claudio Castagnoli.
SamoaRowe - October 24, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
They really should sign Monty Brown, he's more talented than their usual "hoss of the week who gets to beat up Funaki."
They can go and hire Castagnoli, but it's doubtful they'd do anything meaningful with him.
prof_plague - October 24, 2006 09:18 PM (GMT)
Claudio Castagnoli just had a try-out for DSW. Although DSW did sound impressed, that doesn't mean he's been hired just yet.
Real F'n Show - October 24, 2006 09:40 PM (GMT)
I think he'd fit in well. He's what like 6'4" and ripped, and can cut a good promo. His gimmick I could also see working in WWE to some extent...
D.A.V.E. - October 24, 2006 09:42 PM (GMT)
Frankly, I'd settle for a Euro-Trash tag team with Rene Dupree
eStragand - October 24, 2006 09:52 PM (GMT)
Don't scold cuz' me I don't know..but is Eddie Colon any relation to Carlito and Carlos Colon? (wait..Carlito IS Carlos's son... right?)
Monty Brown would be a good pick-up. He's better on the stick than people give him credit for. He had some decent promos in TNA, last year. Most just think he screams "powwww-nce! Period", but he cut some good stuff against Jarrett and Trytan.

Carlito is Carlos' son. Eddie is also Carlos' son, and Carlito's brother.
D.A.V.E. - October 24, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
Eddie is Carly's (Carlito) younger brother, yes.
Carlos Colon is their father. There's probably another younger brother in there aswell. Colon has been working, trying to make the WWC a feeder/dev group for the WWE.
Real F'n Show - October 24, 2006 10:01 PM (GMT)
The other brother is Staci Colon.
About Eddie: He's supposedly twice the worker as Carlito but only half as charasmatic. I saw a clipped match of his versus I think Jerry Lynn from MLW or something a couple years ago and was pretty unimpressed.
D.A.V.E. - October 24, 2006 10:10 PM (GMT)
I am reasonably positive Staci Colon is a girl.

From what I remember, last year, the WWE was interested in taking Eddie on, but Carlos wanted him to stay and headline WWC, until their younger brother, who's name.....Armando, I think, was ready to tak his place
Real F'n Show - October 24, 2006 10:34 PM (GMT)
Fuck. You are correct about Staci.
Are you thinking of Orlando Colon? I checked Wikipedia since the third brother's name was bugging me, and could only find Orlando, who is Carlito and Eddie's cousin...
D.A.V.E. - October 24, 2006 10:43 PM (GMT)
There ya go. Armando/Orland - I just wasn't sure.
whitemilesdavis - October 25, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)
I've seen a good bit of Eddie. I don't know that I'd go all "twice the worker", but he is better in the ring, though a bit more of a high flyer. I'm not sure about the charisma thing, but he looks alot like Carlito other than the hair.
Mad Dog - October 25, 2006 01:11 AM (GMT)
Carlos is an odd animal. Eddie's a better worker and the sister has more charisma but he seems to be a little more rounded.
Real F'n Show - October 26, 2006 04:18 PM (GMT)
From Bryan Alvarez:
- I'm told Claudio Castagnoli looked good in his Deep South (WWE developmental) tryout last week, and that there is interest in Chris Hero as well after WWE got a tape of one of his matches in the UK.

PWInsider is reporting that Claudio Castagnoli has signed a developmental deal with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Castagnoli's signing should not come as a surprise—recent reports from various sources rated the possibility of the wrestler signing with WWE as very likely.
The wrestler, with partner Chris Hero, is a tag champion for various promotions, including Ring Of Honor. |

| Monty Brown, formerly of the Buffalo Bills, has signed with World Wrestling Entertainment. Stay tuned to WWE.com for more information. |
It's official
SamoaRowe - November 16, 2006 09:46 PM (GMT)
I'm glad they finally made it official. I think Monty Brown is going to do wonderfully in WWE. Unlike most of the stiffs they hire, Monty is actually capable of having good matches.
eStragand - November 16, 2006 10:01 PM (GMT)
Folks would say "but they already have a big black guy with a push, in Bobby Lashley". But I think Monty has much more charisma and enthusiasm in his character than Lashley.
Here's the funny thing-- I really think that, if not for a senseless ill-advised heel turn in Spring 2005, Monty would have been one of TNA's Main Dudes, if not THE Main Dude.
SamoaRowe - November 16, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
Definitly. That heel turn Monty took back then absolutely KILLED his momentum. I would say that was one of the most questionable booking decisions of the past five years.

When former NFL star Monty Brown explodes into action for the first time in a WWE ring, it will be the fulfillment of one of two very vast childhood dreams.
“I had two dreams as a kid,” Brown told WWE.com. “One was to become a professional football player; the other was to become a WWE Superstar. How many people can say they actually lived out both dreams?”
For someone who once crafted their own WWE Championship in junior high school, Brown claimed that signing with WWE is something he swore he would accomplish some day.
“[My classmates and I] made what we called the Wood Class Championship,” Brown reflected. “I still have that belt to this day. I felt that one day I would be working for this company.”
Growing up in a bedroom with wall-to-wall wrestling legends, Brown said that he engulfed his room with posters of greats such as Ricky Steamboat, Mike Rotundo and Harley Race – on one wall. On a separate wall, all to himself was the 16-time World Champion Ric Flair, a man Brown could potentially be meeting one-on-one once he begins his WWE career.
“[In WWE], the competition is deep,” admitted Brown. “But, if you don’t want to be involved with the best on the planet and be involved in a competitive atmosphere, you don’t do what you do. You choose to do something else.”
The thick-framed Brown is no stranger to competition. A collegiate All-American and also former NFL linebacker for both the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots, Brown has competed in Super Bowl games for both franchises.
Following his football career, Brown trained extensively towards his goal of reaching WWE. Under the guidance of the former WWE Superstar Dan Severn and the Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac Sabu, Brown is prepared to blast through Raw, SmackDown or ECW with his unique style.
“This is something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time,” Brown claimed. “I’m pretty much going to bring a no-nonsense, hard-hitting, take-no-prisoners linebacker style with just a straight-ahead, destroyer-type mentality.”
Despite his confidence in his abilities, Brown said that before he makes his in-ring debut, he will continue to eat, breathe and sleep this business as he closely studies tape after tape of WWE action with his notebook in hand.
“Coming to WWE is a definite blessing and a privilege,” he said. “To come and work for the Mecca of all Meccas, I’m just anxious to start. I’m looking forward to getting in the mix and being part of the WWE family,” Brown added.
“Monty Brown is definitely on his way.” |
Mad Dog - November 17, 2006 12:19 AM (GMT)
It's times like these that I hate wrestling fans. Notice how on several boards people bashed the shit out of Brown but the second he signs a WWE deal suddenly everyone's been a fan since day one.
dynamite kido - November 17, 2006 02:06 AM (GMT)
If I've said it once, I'll say it again.
The boat has officially been missed on Brown. I'll be shocked if he does anything of value.
Real F'n Show - November 17, 2006 04:15 AM (GMT)
Is Monty even that big compared to WWE guys? I know he looked pretty decent sized in TNA, but everyone there is like 5'10". What is Monty like 6'3"?
SamoaRowe - November 17, 2006 05:51 AM (GMT)
Yeah, but Monty is well built. Lashley really isn't that big either.
I wouldn't go so far to call myself a "fan" of Monty. He had some good matches in TNA (along with some shitty ones) and he had the potential to break out huge in early 2005, but it didn't happen. I think he'll do well in the WWE, it doesn't necessarily mean that I'm jumping up in down in excitement.
