Title: Movies with a Long Run Time

Exactly as the topic title says, what movies can you think of with a long-run time? Here's a few that came to mind, or heard about from people. Originally I was just thinking of movies, but mini-series can be added, too. There's a few particularly movies I'm thinking of, but I cannot remember the names of the movies.

Roots - 573 minutes
Lord of the Ring: Return of the King (extended version) - 251 minutes
The Murder of Mary Phagan - 251 minutes

-Miami Vice
-Troy
-Gangs of New York
-Dune (both theatrical release and the extended version that made some sense)
-Patton
-Reds
-Das Boot
-Apocalypse Now
-2001
-Godfather 1-3
-Bridge on the River Kwai
-King Kong (2005)
-Jaws 4: the Revenge (okay, it just seemed long)

I saw that Narnia is about 3 hours.. another reason I haven't sat down to watch that flick.

T2: Judgement Day (Extreme Version) - close to 2 hours and 40 minutes

Heat
Ali
Collateral

Ok, any movie by Michael Mann

Narnia is not three hours long. The BBC miniseries probably was, but the theatrical version was hovering around the two hour mark.

Those movies just felt long, but not many of them were actually all that long. I'm thinking movies that tipped at least three hours, or were long for what they were.

Which makes me think of these two:

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - 143 minutes
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - 150 minutes

Huh, I could have sworn those movies were just a tad bit longer in run time. Either way, I would say those movies are long in aspect that most comedies don't run about 2 and half hours.

Other movies to add, that only seem what naturally becaus they run at least three hours:

Schindler's List - 195 minutes
Titantic - 194 minutes

You won't find one longer than this.

The Burning of the Red Lotus Temple - 27 hours.

It's a silent chinese movie from 1928.

Actually, King Kong was about three hours, and Apocalypse Now: Redux clocks in at well over three and a half hours, which leads me to believe the original was probably about three hours.

Thin Red Line was originally 9 hours long, though with plenty of cuts the run time is down to about 3 hours.

Scrooge McSuck - October 2, 2006 01:12 PM (GMT)
Casino - Close to 3 hours
Scarface (remake) - 165 minutes

Mad Dog - October 2, 2006 01:21 PM (GMT)
Lawrence of Arabia - 216 minutes
Gone With the Wind - 222 minutes
