Title: The everyday chat
Description: What's new, exciting, blah, blah, etc
smkelly13 - September 28, 2006 08:59 PM (GMT)
So, yeah. I haven't been around much lately, been terribly busy, and the lack of constant internet access makes things far more difficult than normal.
Here's the update:
Going to college, for State Corrections. I have a girlfriend, woo hoo, she's perfect for me, and I love her to death. I am cooking, once again, but now as a manager and making a solid $9.50 an hour. I am loving my freedom once again.
Real F'n Show - September 28, 2006 09:13 PM (GMT)
Awesome, welcome back man. Not much new around here, really.

Except for Scrooge getting busted for kiddie porn, and me dusting a few more hookers. Everything IS the same.

Well, you haven't exactly told us what really happened, so in the mean time we will stick to our baseless assumptions :P

Tell that to the district attorney.
smkelly13 - October 9, 2006 04:28 AM (GMT)
I love Shaun of the Dead.
It's actually Kirtland Community College, which offers mostly business, and correction type programs.
Work sucked today, too busy, not enough help, extremely tired, etc.
Real F'n Show - October 9, 2006 04:31 AM (GMT)
You should kill all of your co-workers and make a stew out of them.

Did I just say that?

No, I'm just craving human flesh.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME???
TheGreatWhiteChoate - October 10, 2006 02:41 AM (GMT)
Add a little paprika, and shit bitch, it's delicious.
dynamite kido - October 10, 2006 08:19 PM (GMT)
Fuck that. Eat it RAW.
That's how REAL ass motherfuckers get down.

Man, I ain't saying cook it. I'm saying a little bit of paprika really adds to the motherfuckin' flavor.
smkelly13 - October 13, 2006 05:45 PM (GMT)
I'm getting annoyed as hell right now. No one wants to buy my awesome comic book collection.
eStragand - October 13, 2006 05:49 PM (GMT)
..if "awesome" equals "Brigade", "Cable" and "Venom", then I could see why.
I still need Avengers Annual #2 and the '98 Annual with the Squadron Supreme. Got those?
Oh yeah, Scrooge will probably buy any TMNT stuff.

Yeah, might you share with us what your collection is? Or did you post it somewhere else and I'm just being dumb.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - October 20, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
My comic collection is mostly Simpsons comics.
And my cat's breath smells like cat food.
SamoaRowe - October 20, 2006 09:28 PM (GMT)
My comic collection is mostly X-Men titles. What can I say, I love those damn mutants.
It's a rainy friday night, Best Buy is going to be packed tonight. And it's truck night too, so I'm going to have a load of stuff to put on the shelves too. That's okay though, I have two new employees working with me tonight, so they'll mindlessly do anything I tell them to :D
smkelly13 - October 26, 2006 06:13 AM (GMT)
Let's see:
I have Incredible Hulk #181 - 1st apperance of Wolverine - Inc Hulk # 340, round two with Wolverine - Iron Fist # 14, 1st Sabretooth, Wolverine 1984 1-4 mini-series, Wolverine # 10 - 1st Wolverine / Sabretooth story, New Mutants # 87, 12st apperance of Cable, 1st apperances of Bishop / Gambit / Bullseye / 2nd gen X-Men (Giant Size X-Men #1), etc.
Anyone interested ?
eStragand - October 26, 2006 03:51 PM (GMT)
I suppose I should get that '84 Wolvie mini-series one of these days. Assuming they're not CGC, I'd be interested in those. Realistically, the set SELLS for about 20 bucks on eBay. People LIST it for 50-80, but not too many move at that price.
The Hulk 181, Giant-Size 1 and early X-men books (I'm guessing #94-100) should land you some good cash. If they're in F condition or better, then you should seriously list them on eBay. Pictures, detailed description, etc. Don't half-ass your listing and you'll get a fair price. Especially GS #1, Hulk #181 and X-men #94. Stuff from #95 to about #110 will not land hefty sums, but they're usually in demand.
The Sabretooth, Gambit, Cable and Bishop issues aren't in high demand. The Sabretooth/Iron Fist is pricey simply because it's rare. Have to ask-- that'd be Dardevil's "Bullseye" you're talking about? Cuz' sometimes you'll see an old Strange Tales incorrectly proclaiming to be the "first Bullseye" (different character, same name). The Gambit, Bishop and Cable issues...honestly, don't expect alot for those.
Remember, there's no such thing as "how much is this comic worth?" The old slogan is "it's only worth as much as someone wants to pay for it". If you're looking through Wizard's laughable "price guide", do NOT expect to receive those prices. Overstreet and eBay are the best references.
Mad Dog - October 26, 2006 04:23 PM (GMT)
For Uncanny I have issue 250 to today without missing an issue. For the newer series I'm only 10 issues shy of having issue 1 to today without missing. As far as oldies for X-Men here goes:
#5, 11, 13, 15, 18, 22, 24, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 40, 46, 48, 50, 51, 54, 58, 59, 60, 61, 64, 95, 97, 98, Giant Size #1
#98 is actually autographed by the artist. I bought it at a convention one year and he just happened to be in attendence. Most of those I bought in a big lot for $200. I also have 2 copies of #35 for that reason. I've been saving it to give as a birthday present to one of my collector friends when they least expect it.
eStragand - October 26, 2006 06:20 PM (GMT)
Sooo...you don't want any of smKelly's stuff? Cuz' otherwise you have a spiffy head start on the "Post Your Comic Book Collection" thread. :)
Mad Dog - October 26, 2006 06:50 PM (GMT)
Nope, I have almost all of then stuff he's listing minus the Sabertooth first appearance and it's not high on my list right now. Right now the goal is getting from #150 to current and finishing off the other X-Men series. Then will come the fun of saving up for #1.

HA! I'd rather put a bullet in my head then go through the 16 long boxes of stuff I have so I can post it on here.
smkelly13 - October 30, 2006 05:54 AM (GMT)
Mad Dog, do you have the Days of Future Past or the Phoenix Saga ?
Mad Dog - October 30, 2006 06:30 AM (GMT)
I'm not in the market for buying right now to be honest with you.
As for conversation. I don't have either arc.
smkelly13 - October 31, 2006 07:37 AM (GMT)
That's cool, I honestly wasn't pitching an offer, just curious if you had the series or not.
I'm going to be post a huge, well, huge is a strech, just say a big lot for Wolverine stuff on e-bay very soon.
Mad Dog - October 31, 2006 07:42 AM (GMT)
I've never had good access to the Phoenix stuff. As I've said before most of my X-Men back issues have come from large lots. The other's affordable I've just never thought about buying them. I do have the Dark Phoenix saga and the comic where Wolverine first wears the maroon costume.
smkelly13 - November 2, 2006 05:12 AM (GMT)
I remember we've talked about comics a few times in the past.
SamoaRowe - November 4, 2006 06:41 PM (GMT)
There is some very vague snow falling outside at this particular moment. Neat!
SamoaRowe - November 4, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
Bah. The snow picked up for about five minutes and then stopped just as suddenly.
I usually hate snow, but from about November to December i'm always like "Snow, how magical!" until January hits and I get pissed by it.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - November 6, 2006 04:54 PM (GMT)
Wait...you had snow?
FUCK! I want snow!
SamoaRowe - November 6, 2006 06:24 PM (GMT)
Don't feel too bad. It only lasted for five minutes and didn't have any lasting effect...
... just like Scrooge's sexual performances.

smkelly13 - November 7, 2006 06:19 PM (GMT)
I've had snow coming and going since mid-October. I had about six inches or so last Thursday.
Timmy8271 - November 9, 2006 09:47 PM (GMT)
It's in the high 70's here. Night time about 50 degrees in the Ocala area.
whitemilesdavis - November 9, 2006 09:51 PM (GMT)
Yeah, about 73 in Charlotte today. Suppose to get up close to 80 tomorrow.
