1) SPANKY over ALEX SHELLEY
Austin Aries opened the show, saying we (the fans) should respect him because he is the champion...Shelley came out and told him that he wanted a match with Aries down the road, Roderick attacked him, and Cabana made the save.
2) AZRIEAL (Angel Dust) over DERANGED by DQ
All of the other Special K'ers jumped AZ...AZ is using his new old name now..Dunn and Marcos made the save after the match and they spanked Lacey.
Roderick Strong came out for the next segment and pulled himself from UE 3 because he doesn't want to win the titles without Jack Evans.
3) RODERICK STRONG over 2 Punk Students and 2 Corino Students
Strong beat Punk's students first..Tree did not clarify who, then he beat Alex Law and Ricky Landell, but not sure in which order. After Strong brutalized Corino's students it prompted Corino to come out and make the save.
4) JAY LETHAL & JOSH DANIELS over THE OUTCAST KILLAZ
After the match Nana and The Killaz stared each other down and Nana left without them.
5) RICKY REYES & ROCKY ROMERO over CM PUNK & STEVE CORINO and THE CARNAGE CREW in Ultimate Endurance III to retain the Tag Team Titles
Crew was the first team out and apparently, Punk had one of The Rotties tapping out, but Julius Smokes distracted the referee to miss that.
6) SAMOA JOE over NIGEL MCGUINNESS
7) HOMICIDE over BRYAN DANIELSON in a TAP OUT MATCH
After the match Homicide and The Rotties were going to clock Danielson with Brass Knuckles, but Danielson turned the tide and used the knucks to his benefit.
He then announced that Match #2 in the series would be a TAPED FIST MATCH, more than likely 2/26 in Chicago Ridge.
8) AUSTIN ARIES over COLT CABANA
Cabana was out on the floor for a good chunk of the match...Aries finally got him back in the ring and won. Finish seemed really screwy...the whole show has been kinda funky..
**FOLEY LAYS OUT SAMOA JOE**
Joe and Foley went at it on the mic and Joe challenged Foley, but Foley declined, citing the fact that he can make so much more money when he wrestles for WWE...Joe turned and was ready to walk out of the ring when Foley hit him with the mic.
They took it to the floor and Foley hit some stiff chair shots. Back in the ring, Foley DDT'd Joe on the chair to lay him out.

..........
This show doesn't look terribly interesting to me other than a few of the matches.

Agreed. Probably one of their weaker looking shows within the last year or so. Dragon/Homicide and Joe/Nigel are the only matches that look interesting to me.

Even Danielson/Homicide doesn't thrill me that much as that match seems to have been done to death.

I don't know how many you've seen, but most are top notch ROH matches IMO. They are just trying to find something for both to do other than go for the title. I'm sure they will be building up to a Aries/Dragon in no time, but they want to do a transition fued for both of these guys as they really don't have much else to do right now.

Doesn't look like a great card. Seems like Joe losing the title has taken a little sheen off the promotion.

I don't know if it was Joe losing the title. I think for me it has more to do with just boring looking matches throughout the show.
whitemilesdavis - January 17, 2005 06:30 PM (GMT)
True, but he really did bring a prestige to the title, and with him at the top of the card, it just gave a "big-event" feel. I could be wrong. They could bounce back with their next show.

I planned on going to that show, but wasn't able to go. The matches were still probably good, but just not in the same way RoH has great matches. And that was Aries first title defense as RoH Champion.
