This PPV has potential out the ass...

There are only two matches I'd actually want to see: The Tag Title Match and Christian-Rhino. Nothing they've done has actually made me care about the matches, or believe that the feuds are serious enough for me to pay for

Big F'N Swigg - October 13, 2006 07:48 PM (GMT)
I'll go one step further, I'll break down each of the matches and explain what I think. Hopefully there will be some discussion because of this:

Jarrett vs. Sting
Either way, I don't really care who wins. If Jarrett wins, it's more of the usual. If Sting wins, it's nothing special. Both men are past their "prime" and neither should be holding this belt. If either should, I'd say Sting. But just for passing the torch. Which is probably what will happen.
What I should get is that Sting's whole purpose since being in TNA is to get rid of Jarrett. But he hasn't been solely focused on that, and it hasn't been emphasized properly. Which is a flaw with most of TNA's storylines, and one I think that comes from taping three shows in one night. But that's debatable.

LAX vs. Styles & Daniels
A great angle which has gotten me interested. I'll admit, though, that I'd be more interested if the announcers would quit making every attack seem as though it's the most vicious attack ever seen on television. And I'll add I've been a bit annoyed that everytime LAX has something to say, Styles and Daniels come to ringside AFTER they've said it and brawl. Whatever happened to a good old fashioned war of words?
It is, though, one of the best angles in TNA history, BY FAR.

Senshi vs. Sabin
Frankly, I've never been excited about a Sabin match. Mostly because he portrays a vanilla midget. Senshi I could respect, but they focus so much on "The Stars of the X Division's" Jackass crap that his reign has been overlooked. Everytime they pulled some Jackass stunt, he should've killed them for it, and it would have made it look like he was ruining their fun. But instead, he looks like a fool for double stomping a blow-up doll. The good thing from this, though, is that Sabin is getting a bit heelish and looks less bland.

Cage vs. Rhino
This is another great feud. These two have done as much as they could have to make this match worth paying for. But Cage's fury is a bit distracted as he's been talking about the belt. If Rhino wins, that should be emphasized, as Rhino has been focused on nothing but Christian. Which is part of what makes the feud.

Monster's Ball
A great idea for an angle that's been a bit lacking. I see what they're going for with this angle, but like most angles in TNA it's missing the mark by just a bit. And some of it is because Joe has been thrown into the match. We get that Spike likes to fight the odds, and that Abyss is a monster, and that Raven is pissed at Abyss for messing with his "creation." And that Runt is pissed at Raven for getting in the way. I just don't think we get it enough. But it will be at least an entertaining brawl.

Loser Gets Fired
Eric Young will win. I'm actually a bit peeved that they had him lose on Impact, and went back on it. It's like Retcon for wrestling. It's not a really good idea. But I can forgive them a bit. And I'll admit that Young vs. Zybysko would be somewhat entertaining.

Nash's Invitational
I swear, I don't even need to say anything. At all.
--------------
And I'll say this: After typing this up, I do see how two hours would actually help TNA do better. But several things have made me less interested in TNA. Part of it being that they're so pulling a lot of WCW moves right now.

I think Abyss will win by pinning Raven leading somewhere down the road to a feud between him and Joe

SamoaRowe - October 13, 2006 08:02 PM (GMT)
That's very possible. Honestly, I don't think any of these matches have a clear cut winner, which I think is wonderful.

I'm pumped for this PPV.

dynamite kido - October 21, 2006 07:44 PM (GMT)
Fucking right. This one is gonna be a killer show I think.

Mad Dog - October 22, 2006 09:01 PM (GMT)

I think the show seems pretty solid. It's like WCW when the could book right. It has a good undercard with a hyped main event. Plus, LAX vs. Styles and Daniels is built-up well. I might actually consider getting this when it comes out, as long as there isn't an screwy finishes, or such.

Mad Dog - October 22, 2006 11:47 PM (GMT)
Looks like they pulled in a pretty big crowd. I'd say the arena looks full for the most part.

Mad Dog - October 23, 2006 02:05 AM (GMT)
Results so far:

Bobby Roode d. Lance Hoyt

Austin Starr won the battle royal.

Team 3D won the tag team four way.

Eric Young d. Larry Zbyszko.

Samoa Joe won the Monster's Ball.

Chris Sabin d. Senshi to win the X Division Title.

Christian Cage d. Rhino.

Really really good PPV so far as nothing has been below watchable and the best match is still to come.

Mad Dog - October 23, 2006 02:29 AM (GMT)
More results:

LAX d. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels to win the tag titles.

Mad Dog - October 23, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
Main Event:

Sting d. Jeff Jarrett to win the NWA Title

Awesome fucking PPV. Just top to bottom good matches and 100% perfect booking for the entire show.

Mad Dog - October 23, 2006 03:21 AM (GMT)
Just to describe the new Sting look. He has surfer Sting style tights and jacket. He's kept the crow hair style and has the crow face paint with the surfer style over it.

dynamite kido - October 23, 2006 03:30 AM (GMT)
This show fucking owned.

Big F'N Swigg - October 23, 2006 03:38 AM (GMT)
I'll admit, it sounds better than I thought it would be

Mad Dog - October 23, 2006 03:42 AM (GMT)
I'd have to say this was the best booked PPV in TNA history and the best booked PPV since Wrestlemania X-7. Just nothing on that show you can argue with. Good to great matches from start to finish. Man, I haven't been this excited about wrestling for a long time.

You know, it really helps the storyline about him not being on Impact in weeks when he looks that good. Really makes it work.

Mad Dog - October 23, 2006 01:32 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that's the best shape I've seen Sting in for a long time. West said he dropped 20 lbs. leading up to that and I believe him.

Also the no sell of the guitar shot was awesome and a really good end to the feud.

dynamite kido - October 23, 2006 02:39 PM (GMT)
I just enjoyed the show from top to bottom.

The X-division gauntlet was a catapult for Aries to shine. Nash was great on commentary.

The four way tag match was ultimately pointless, but it's just to get the other tag teams out there and on PPV. You know, it's almost weird to see a wrestling company that has a full tag division. That's something that I couldn't say for any company since the WWE was doing it during the attitude era.

Eric Young and Zybysko was what it should have been. A funny way to get Larry out of there, and to extend EY's personality more.

Joe proved once again why he's the best worker in the US. It doesn't matter what style of match and how much you think he WON'T fit it, he always proves people wrong. Awesome match with some cool spots. VERY entertaining nonetheless. Abyss also proves once again that he's the workhorse of the hoss's in the US.

Sabin/Senshi was a badass fucking match. I hope they actually keep the feud going, but I hope they pull some kind of a thing out where he won't get the shot against Sabin again unless he can get through Sonjay and Lethal. That could give Sabin a rest on the shows and get Senshi on for a few weeks in a row in competitive matches.

Xian/Rhino was a nice match for their feud. TNA proves their intelligence again by not having Xian lose. Rhino can lose and keep his credibility because of the punishment he takes. Xian comes off looking like the crafty heel that can kick some ass.

LAX/AJ/Daniels proves why feuds make everything better. That was a fucking awesome cage match and I'm interested to see where it goes from here. Although I'm thinking that LAX might move into a feud with AMW and AJ/Daniels either get a break or breakup. Either way, it's fine with me.

Sting/JJ was a wonderfully booked main event. It's something that could have easily been overbooked, but wasn't. Although I could see them giving Jarrett the title back, because Angle technically wasn't the ref for the match. I usually don't get into those, but that could be really awesome for this. That way they could just clog up the title picture more in TNA which makes the main event scene look legitimently more competitive.

Side notes: Angle/Joe is their money feud and damn are they building it strong. I can't wait to see those two get in their with each other. It's a MOTYC just waiting to happen.

Mad Dog - October 23, 2006 03:38 PM (GMT)
I'm actually sad to see LAX/Styles/Daniels end. I think that was easily feud of the year. Though I think LAX/AMW might get up there with AMW/XXX.

It MAY not be ending, they may just be giving it a break for a bit.

By the way, I would say that is EASILY the feud of the year.

eStragand - October 23, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
I...actually wanna' see this. If nothing else, for the Stinger win. Watching the old Nitros made me remember how much I dig the guy.

Good decision to have Sabin actually WIN the title. For the past two years, he's been bult up at the "#1 X Division Contender", but he just seems to be the obligatory "Guy Who Champ Gets to Beat". Joe, Williams, Daniels and even Styles all got to beat Sabin during their runs. Giving Sabin a title win gives him some credibility for once.

S.T. Strickler - October 23, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
I might have to buy this when it comes out on DVD... Haven't really watched any of TNA for a while.

Big F'N Swigg - October 23, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)
Everyone seems to appreciate the show.

Except HTQ at TSM.

Mad Dog - October 23, 2006 10:34 PM (GMT)
I almost posted at TSM just to tell him to shut his fucking mouth. The worst part is you can see him just trying to latching onto the smallest thing to be negative. Plus his complaint about the Christian/Rhino match is just retarded considering they drew a mostly smarkish crowd.

dynamite kido - October 23, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
That's exactly why I don't read what one sided fucktards think about the shows.

These are the same people that say how good the next WWE PPV's gonna be or how Joe is fat and can't work.

whitemilesdavis - October 23, 2006 11:36 PM (GMT)
The DVDR crew was mostly positive about this show and they hate everything TNA.
