Description: Spoiler?

Apparently, someone at Marvel is teasing a Mary Jane death. See more in a deliberate tease here:

I'm not really too floored, since with all the alternate reality, alternate timeline mini-series that writers like to toss out. It could be one of those. Like "Spider-Man: Death for the Redhead" or some shit-- a 6 issue, $5.95 series featuring Spidey written by some indy comic loon.

But..let's say it's legit. People would cry "you can't kill MJ!!" However, I don't think she's necessarily the Lois to Spidey's Superman.

The actual deed would, presumably, spin out of Peter's big ID reveal in "Civil War".

Joe Q has said he doesn't want widowed Spider-Man. So I think this is some stray piece of art or will be some alternate type deal. I don't see them killing her.

I would stop reading the books if they just outright kill MJ. Part of what I like about Spiderman is that the relationship between him and MJ is a legit marriage. You could off Lois and the Superman books wouldn't be that effected. If you off MJ, all the Spiderbooks would suffer

It's from Kaare Andrews' upcoming miniseries Spider-Man Reign. I'm reasonably sure it's not in continuity

Better, but still....

Killing MJ would be stupid also because they would eventually want to bring her back to life anyhow.
