Bobby Lashley, then Batista hit the ring, with everyone brawling. Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long comes out and decrees there will be a handicap tag main event tonight...King Booker & William Regal & Finlay vs. Batista & Lashley.

*Ken Kennedy defeated Matt Hardy after WWE Cruiserweight champion Gregory Helms (at ringside doing commentary) hits Hardy.

*They show highlights of Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero from Summerslam. They show Vicki Guerrero walking backstage, as she'll be coming to the ring after a commercial break.

*Vicki Guerrero comes to the ring and addresses the crowd. She apologizes for getting involved in the Guerrero vs. Mysterio PPV match and said she is going to move on with her life, but first she wants to apologize to both. Mysterio comes to the ring. She apologizes to Rey and they hug. Guerrero comes to the ring and hugs Vicki as well. They are all about to leave when Chavo attacks Rey. He goes to hit Rey with a chair, but Vicki stops Chavo and takes the chair away...then hits Rey with it. Chavo suplexes Rey on the chair. He and Vicki hug and leave Rey laying in the ring.

Ugh.

dynamite kido - August 23, 2006 12:50 PM (GMT)
This show has gone in the shitter faster than a fucking meteor plunging to earth.

whitemilesdavis - August 23, 2006 01:04 PM (GMT)
I see strong potential for Jimmy "The Wang" Yang. Ok, no I don't.

SamoaRowe - August 23, 2006 01:09 PM (GMT)
This entire Vickie Guerrero angle is really despicable. They clearly didn't learn their lessons after the "Eddie's in hell" debacle from earlier this year.

Big F'N Swigg - August 23, 2006 01:46 PM (GMT)
Wow, not only is it predictable (Helms attacks after doing commentary, Teddy Long making a handicap tag match), it's just plain bad

Real F'n Show - August 23, 2006 02:32 PM (GMT)
Without Finlay and Regal playing miracle workers this show is complete trash.

Hey now.... I haven't watched Smackdown in forever, but I wanna' see the cowboy vignette.

Reminds me of "Pecos"-- the Chinese member of the October Guard who loved old cowboy movies and hung out with Snake-Eyes. (He was cartoon-only and supposedly based on Larry Hama)

..and now ya' know...

Being too harsh already. Main event could be good and it's nice that Kash & Noble are back.

Too harsh? The card looks like shit. So Kash and Noble are back. YAY!

Actually, as the trend is on Smackdown, the in-ring product itself should be good, it's the angles and story development that is sucking the big one.

WWE is spending too much energy on the DX/McMahon angle that isn't coming out too well. The other storylines they're doing right now on Raw and ECW seem to be fine - simple enough, yet interesting to follow.

Call me crazy, but I've been enjoying the Dreamer/Sandman vs Knox/Test feud more than I ever thought possible this past month. Also, I've got nothing but good things to say about the Cena/Edge feud. Up until the chaos going into the GAB, I thought Smackdown was crafting together a good series of feuds.

But right now the McMahons/DX feud and the pissing on Eddie's grave are two of the most unappealing angles I've ever seen on any wrestling program ever. I want both of them to end.

You sooooo craaaaaazy.

Smackdown turned out good again.

Kennedy/Matt was pretty good. Terkay/Tatanka was alright. London/James was alright. Vito/Sylvan was entertaining. The main event was good too.

They're now building towards Matt/Helms, pushing Kennedy, a three way tag feud, furthering Lashley/Finlay/Regal, Batista/Booker and they're building MVP's debut.

Things I didn't like though was the whole Rey/Chavo/Vicki segment. And the cowboy gimmick looks pretty stupid already. Another thing is how Lashley was playing Batista's backup in the tag. He had to do the same thing in their last tag too. Batista isn't really that appealing anymore, and Lashley is one of their most over guys on the entire roster. But overall it was a good episode.
