I was on highspots and found these which looked very weird for WWE releases....

The Best of the Intercontinental Championship

Andre the Giant

Scrooge McSuck - January 13, 2005 10:53 PM (GMT)
Both are Coliseum Videos like The Undertaker: He Buries Them Alive, Hits from the Heartbreak Whatever, etc. etc. if I'm not mistaken.

Andre The Giant's tape looks pretty good on paper, if you're a fan of his and don't mind the slower styles of the 80's.

Andre Match List:
Andre the Giant vs. Moondog Rex (08/01/81)
18-Man Battle Royal including Andre the Giant, Sgt. Slaughter, Big John Studd, Jimmy Snuka, Pat Patterson, Hollywood Hogan, Paul Orndorff, The Iron Sheik & Tito Santana.
Andre the Giant vs. Black Gordman & Great Goliath (01/12/76)
Andre the Giant vs. Jack Evans, Johnny Rodz, & Joe Butcher Nova
Andre the Giant vs. Gorilla Monsoon with the Grand Wizard
Andre the Giant & Jimmy Snuka vs. the Wild Samoans (02/18/83)
Andre the Giant vs. the Masked Superstar (02/20/84)
Andre the Giant & S.D. Jones vs. Big John Studd & Ken Patera with Bobby Heenan (12/15/84)
This is the legendary haircut match
Andre the Giant vs. Ken Patera (01/21/85)
Revenge of the Giant
Andre the Giant vs. Big John Studd (03/31/85) WrestleMania

The Intercontinental Title tape has Jannetty/Michaels (1993 PWI MOTY), and a lot of recycled crap.

Intercontinental Tape List:
Shawn Michaels vs. Crush ( Sheffield, England 04/11//1993
Bret Hart vs. Skinner ( Prime Time Wrestling 08/24/1992)
Shawn Michaels vs. Marty Jannetty ( Raw 07/19/1993)
Shawn Michaels vs. Mr Perfect ( Summerslam 08/30/1993)
Shawn Michaels vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan ( Raw 05/03/1993)

I heard there's also supposed to a 6 disc Hulk Hogan DVD set, but I think it's all from those Hulkamania tapes.

Big F'N Swigg - January 13, 2005 11:22 PM (GMT)
They should really try to revamp the best of the IC title DVD.

Maybe a "best IC Title feuds" DVD.

SamoaRowe - January 13, 2005 11:41 PM (GMT)
Both of those dvds will be mine (Best Buy discount will likely make them 5 bucks each).

Scrooge McSuck - January 13, 2005 11:44 PM (GMT)
The Hogan DVD set is the 6 Coliseum Videos, however, I doubt they will be released until some sort of agreement with Marvel surfaces. Imagine all the Hulk, Hulkster, and Hulkamania bleeps...

I think they can use the "Hulk" name for the older stuff. Since the WWF/WWE paid to use it during the time that it happened, they can use it now as they already paid to do so. They just couldn't promote "Hulk" Hogan in a recent sense unless they pay again for the rights. I could be wrong on this, but I remember reading something like this around the time that the story broke.

Scrooge McSuck - January 13, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
You might be right. On one hand, they aren't promoting the tape with the Hulk Hogan name, and have completely ignored the name for the past few months (in every WWE Magazine article mentioing him, it's Hollywood Hogan). On the other, though, I'm thinking like it's the WWF name. No mention of WWF allowed on anything.

TehDoct0r - January 14, 2005 06:01 AM (GMT)
For some reason, that really pisses me off. He's Hulk fucking Hogan. Fuck this Hollywood balderdash.

Mad Dog - January 14, 2005 07:10 AM (GMT)
For $10 I'd probably buy those. They really need to come out with those video only shows they used to do.

You're right. On the Hulk Rules DVD they never specifically mention "Hulk" except in the old footage.

Scrooge McSuck - January 14, 2005 05:31 PM (GMT)
The Hulk DVD came out in the Summer of 2002. They still had another 2 years with the trademark, and he has been known as Hollywood Hulk Hogan for the past 7 years, so it's not strange to hear them call Hogan "Hollywood Hulk" on the DVD documentary.

Mad Dog - January 14, 2005 06:10 PM (GMT)
I'd kill for Great American Bash 89 and some of the Clash of the Champions show on DVD. Of course they'll never release any NWA/WCW shows but one can dream.

You mean stuff like "Smack 'em Whack 'em"?

That's one of my favorites. I got it on tape.....but I would definately pick up a DVD copy if they ever put it out.

Mad Dog - January 16, 2005 09:44 PM (GMT)
Those and the Rampage tour and stuff.

Scrooge McSuck - January 16, 2005 09:50 PM (GMT)
I hope everyone knows those tapes were compiled from different arena shows... right?

I love Coliseum Videos... except for the last ones from 1995-96, where everything really sucked royal ass.

Yes, I would think everyone knows that CB....

The ones from 95-96 weren't even Coliseum Videos. I think they went with another video company at the time as well. Most were just recycled TV and IYH matches.

Scrooge McSuck - January 16, 2005 10:04 PM (GMT)
Just making sure, because the mention of "video only shows" had me wondering. Although a few of them (like UK Rampage 93, Wrestlefest 1988, etc.) are actual full shows.

Mad Dog - January 16, 2005 10:27 PM (GMT)
I know they were compiled from different shows but I do miss those Coliseum exculsives you'd get.

S.T. Strickler - January 16, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
Only ones I got are "Invasion of the BodySlammers" and "Bashed in the USA".. Eventually, I'll buy other ones. Months ago, I lost a couple auctions on Ebay where I could've won "Grudges Gripes and Grunts" and "Smack 'em Whack 'em". I loved the old Coliseum Home Videos.
