Title: New Matches for Final Resolution
Description: oh boy....
Big F'N Swigg - January 13, 2005 03:34 PM (GMT)
Nashville, TN (January 11, 2005) –On Tuesday morning, Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes sent word to TNAwrestling.com that he has added Jeff Hardy vs. Scott Hall to this Sunday’s packed Final Resolution card with the legendary Rowdy Roddy Piper to serve as special guest referee!
“There will be no funny business this Sunday at Final Resolution,” said Piper “I will make sure Scott Hall can’t hide behind his friends, Hardy will get his shot at revenge”
Due to ongoing legal issues, Hector Garza was removed from the bout – opening the door for the Charismatic Enigma to step up in an attempt to exact some revenge on his ongoing nemesis. It was Hall who helped cost Hardy the NWA World Heavyweight Title at Victory Road, and the battled continued at Turning Point in the main event.
It was also at Turning Point that TNA handed defeat to the Kings of Wrestling, who now appear on the verge of near-collapse as Kevin Nash is determined to find a way to get past DDP and The Alpha Male this Sunday in order to defeat Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight Title.
After all the chaos the “Kings” caused TNA, Hardy is looking for payback this Sunday against Scott Hall. The Charismatic Enigma knows the time is now to strike against the teetering alliance of Hall, Nash and Jarrett – and he’s even got Roddy Piper watching his back!
Piper is a longtime veteran of ring wars against Jarrett, Hall and Nash and has seen the destruction they can cause. The legend wasn’t about to let it happen to TNA and will be the special guest referee to enforce the rules this Sunday at Final Resolution. All this action and more is available on pay-per-view Sunday, January 16th 8PM ET/ 5PM PT for only $29.95 SRP. This is more wrestling for less money than anywhere else in the world!

Primetime vs Sonjay was also added.
The card now looks like this:
Primetime vs Sonjay
Raven vs Erik Watts
Dusty vs. Kid Kash
Hardy vs Hall w/Piper as the guest ref
Team Canada vs AMW for the Tag belts'
Nash vs DDP vs Brown for a title shot
Jarrett vs 3-way winner
Ultimate X w/Styles, Williams & the winner of Sabin/Daniels

Looks like a WWE PPV from 2002 (in terms of booking). A couple of important matche,s but lots of throw-away filler. Didn't Erik Watts turn heel to help Raven at the last PPV, or am I missing a piece of the puzzle (or just confused period).
Mad Dog - January 13, 2005 04:33 PM (GMT)
On the last Impact Watts caught Raven bad mouthing him to DDP.
Scrooge McSuck - January 13, 2005 04:35 PM (GMT)
Oh... I don't get Impact and see only about half of the show on Xplosion (they sometimes air full matches), so I probably missed that. Raven's horrible match streak must continue!
Mad Dog - January 13, 2005 04:57 PM (GMT)
Watts hasn't really bothered me in TNA but I think that's really dependent on the fact that he rarely wrestles.
Scrooge McSuck - January 13, 2005 04:59 PM (GMT)
He isn't all that bad, but expecting a good match out of him is just waiting for disapointment, especially when it's against Raven, who hasn't had a good TNA match in 18 months.
whitemilesdavis - January 13, 2005 05:53 PM (GMT)
Primetime vs Sonjay - Could be good. Should have some incredible spots in it. Really not enough build for anyone to care, but if Elix is going to be TNA's new stunt-dummy, this could be well worth watching.
Raven vs Erik Watts - Can't possibly be a good match. The only thing that could save this is if it is a bloody brawl.
Dusty vs. Kid Kash - Garbage. I wouldn't pay a nickel to see this.
Hardy vs Hall - More garbage. I guess the name value of Hardy and Hall could help buyrates a little. Very little.
Team Canada vs AMW - I bet this is surprisingly good. AMW is riding high from the cage match, and Team Canada really needs a match that solidifies them as a top team.
Nash vs DDP vs Brown - This won't be a good match, but it will be short so that the winner can go with Jarrett. Storyline wise this is fairly intriguing, as I can see positives about any of the three winning.
Jarrett vs 3-way winner - DDP or Brown could give Jarrett a good match, and Nash would be interesting from the perspective of "What will he do?" Still, DDP or Brown should win the title, and probably will. I think fans will be satisfied as long as Jarrett drops it.
Ultimate X w/Styles, Williams & Daniels - Will be match of the night. If there are no technical difficulties, these three can get a lot out of this gimmick.
So, all in all, I'm betting 50% of the matches will be pretty good, with only one total throwaway (Dusty vs.....well, anyone) Pretty good card, but probably won't pop a much bigger buyrate than the last one.
SamoaRowe - January 13, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
As bad as that card sounds, it still looks better than Armageddon or New Year's Revolution.
I think I would get a cheap kick out of Dusty vs Kid Kash. I would also like to see that Sonjay/Elix match.
dynamite kido - January 13, 2005 10:05 PM (GMT)
For the record, I'm pretty sure that Dustin is fighting Kash....not Dusty.
Mad Dog - January 13, 2005 10:24 PM (GMT)
Yeah I thought it was Dustin vs. Kash as well. It could be decent.
Scrooge McSuck - January 13, 2005 10:27 PM (GMT)
Is Dustin Rhodes over as himself, or is he back to being one of the more heatless wrestlers?
Mad Dog - January 13, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
He's fairly over but he hasn't really done much of anything yet.
Peter North - January 14, 2005 12:20 AM (GMT)
I think this PPV will be surprisingly solid. Dustin/Kash will be okay, Hall/Hardy will be a fun car crash if the match actually happens, Elix's match will be a fun spotfest, and I think they'll play to their strengths with the Raven match and we'll see some juice. The crowd will pop for a JJ loss, which will obviously lead to JJ winning the belt back at the next PPV. Yes, I said next PPV, as I'm not assuming the end of this ridiculous fed until it actually happens. I'd pay $10 for this if I was at home when it was happening, and already drinking.
TehDoct0r - January 14, 2005 06:17 AM (GMT)
I say Dustin/Kash, AMW/Team Canada, Skipper/Dutt, and Jarrett/DDP or Brown all have a shot of being decent to good. The Ultimate X will own, and the rest looks weak. If all those deliver, it could be a pretty decent show. I bet it's better than last week's WWE PPV.
dynamite kido - January 14, 2005 02:43 PM (GMT)
Well it certainly has the makings to be better than New Years Revolution for sure. Hopefully, we'll get treated to the best Ultimate X that there has been and just some other decent matches. Also, JJ MUST lost the title. If he doesn't........they officially fuck themselves in my eyes.
Scrooge McSuck - January 14, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
If I was booking (collective groans from everyone)... Monty Brown should win like his name was Warrior. Demolish Nash and DDP, then steamroll over Jarrett in under 90 seconds.

I see where you are coming from, but that would simply hurt the others too much. Well, that and the fact that you're dealing with Nash and that he would NEVER go for something like that. Also, I like DDP and the way they use him......he would be killed if that happened. He's a credible challenger(at least in the marks eyes) and could be saved for a later title defense. Sad as it is, AJ would be a great guy to start a feud with and beat....although the smarks would be bitching up a storm. AJ is a guy that could make Monte look like a million bucks, and he needs that more than anything right now. But I doubt that would happen as they seem poised to keep AJ at mid to upper midcard status and nothing until they HAVE to push him hard again.
TehDoct0r - January 15, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
I don't like Brown, but I wouldn't mind seeing him go over. Regardless, I don't think anyone should squash guys the caliber of Nash, DDP, and Jarrett all in the same night.
Scrooge McSuck - January 15, 2005 05:49 PM (GMT)
Alright... don't squash DDP. At least he has some use in him still. Nash shouldn't even be considering for the World Title... EVER. Did Jarrett learn ANYTHING from his WCW days in 2000? What a fucking idiot...
