1.  What was Tom's (Tom and Jerry) original name?

They were "Japser & Jinx"... I think Tom was Jasper.

QUOTE
2.  Name one of the original 2 big stars for the Looney Tunes brand.  Hint: neither have appeared in a cartoon since the invention of color pictures.

Bosko (Although he did make an appearance in Tiny Toons or Animanicas in the 90's).

QUOTE
3.  Who were the original rivals of Tweety Bird?

Babbett & Catstello

QUOTE
5.  Name the Autobots killed during the opening scenes of the Transformers Movie.  Bonus point if you can name the two dead Autobots briefly shown during the battle for Autobot City.

Prowl and Optimus Prime?

QUOTE
6.  What was Goofy's original name?

Dippy Dawg

QUOTE
7.  What was the common accent re-dubbed onto Mammy Two Shoes (black lady in the early Tom and Jerry cartoons) to be more politically correct?

An Irish accent.
Some copies of the original Mammy must have slipped under the radar, because I remember hearing the black Mammy when I was a kid.

8.  Which villains made up the Legion of Doom in Challenge of the Super Friends?

Lex Luthor, Gorilla Grodd, Toyman (TV only version), Giganta, Sinestro, Riddler, Scarecrow, Giganta, Captain Cold, Black Manta, Bizarro, Cheetah, Brainiac and....
Dr. Natas (off-screen role in the future episode where the LOD took over the world). All of whom coined the term "haha, Super-FOOLS!!" See...they were mocking the SuperFriends by calling them FOOLS!! Genius!! .....no wonder they never suceeded.

QUOTE
9.  Do you remember the lamer version of Ghostbusters that had a gorilla in it?  If so you automatically lose.

Was this the Filmmation version? Which was actually an update of an old 60's live-action version. So Filmmation used the name, first. This led to the use of "the REAL Ghostbusters" when Ghostbusters toys, comics and cartoons came out in the mid 80's (about two years behind the 'Busters trend).

QUOTE
10. What move did Robin Hood Daffey Duck continue to botch with his sword play?

Either "Thrust" or "parry!"

Mad Dog - August 7, 2006 01:00 PM (GMT)
You got everything but the dead Transformers. 4 died on the shuttle, 2 are briefly shown as dead during the battle and then of course Optimus Prime dies.

This is a test run mostly. I'll be back next week with some tougher questions.

Big F'N Swigg - August 7, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)
Ironhide, Jazz, Ratchet and Prowl

And one of the ones shown later is Wheeljack

EDIT: Not Jazz, but I know the other three are in the ship. Which, by the way, is not the opening scene. The opening scene is Unicron devouring some random planet, then the credits, then Cybertron, THEN the four dying

I thought these were hard questions..... but I'm supremely proud to NOT know the Transformers stuff! Loves me some trivia.

And one more...

4. Who was the main rival of Cool Cat?

Colonel Rimfire?

Was Cool Cat the other half of the "orginal 2 big stars" of Warner Bros?

Gee, wouldn't it be cool if there was a COMIC VERSION of this kinda' trivia?!!

Mad Dog - August 7, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)
Buddy was the other half of the big two. There wasn't much difference from Bosko though.

Nice quiz. I might have to do one with sports or video games.

Brawn and Windcharger are the other two shown to have died in Transformers the Movie. I read up on things a bit and Wheeljack was originally Smokescreen during the early plannings and has actually appeared in the Japanese cartoons. I also learned that Huffer was officially killed in the battle. He does appear putting up the barricade that Hotrod breaks through and he's listed as one of the war dead during the opening of season 3.

Red Alert, Mirage and Trailbreaker also had written scenes where they were killed but were later dropped.

One of the things that I always was confused about as a kid was why they killed off so many important characters in the show. Some of the guys were the focus of the first two seasons, and then they just die. ?????? Was Optimus Prime not enough?

That's a good guess. Break out the Robotix and Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines tapes too because at least one question will come from that Sunday morning show.

I' call dibs on answering two Bigfoot & muscle Machines questions:
"Yank Justice" and "Orange Blossom Special"

Oh yeah, don't forget "Inhumanoids"! With one creature voiced by "the Guy Who Did Cobra Commander"

Galtar and the Golden Lance, Go-Bots, Ulyesses 31, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Rubik the Amazing Cube, Silverhawks, Tranzor Z.

Bring it, bitch!!
