Title: OAO Television Thread: August
Mad Dog - August 2, 2006 12:06 PM (GMT)
Scrooge McSuck - August 2, 2006 01:03 PM (GMT)
Last nights crowd had to be the best ever. FINALLY real fans who can't stand either Big Slow or Roidtista.
And Punk actually carried Justin Tolerable to a decent match. Surprising.
SamoaRowe - August 2, 2006 01:07 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that was one of the better Credible matches I've seen.
Mad Dog - August 2, 2006 01:07 PM (GMT)
I didn't care enough to actually tune in last night. The show is so formula that I know what happened without actually seeing results.
Scrooge McSuck - August 2, 2006 01:09 PM (GMT)
It was a half-way better show this week... until the main event that was shat upon before the bell even rang. Too bad Paul Heyman is basically "Vince McMahon" with less hair.
I hope to God he's not booking the shows, otherwise I do have to question his "genius" monicker.

We could only wish to see Heyman doing the books for ECW at this point.
S.T. Strickler - August 2, 2006 09:13 PM (GMT)
I couldn't stand the asshole-ish New York crowd. Shows how classless they are. And it's funny that they cheer "you can't wrestle", but I bet you none of them have ever been in the ring. I hope to hell that WWE's ECW NEVER comes back there, because they don't deserve it.
SamoaRowe - August 2, 2006 11:51 PM (GMT)
After the show, Batista and Big Show acted all buddy-buddy in the ring to piss the crowd off further. Before leaving, Show took the mic and said "Seriously guys... from the bottom of my heart... you can all kiss my ass."
Scrooge McSuck - August 4, 2006 01:10 PM (GMT)
I hope they go back their every week. I'd rather have a rowdy crowd that shits all over everything than an annoying crowd that cheers everything or a crowd that's more dead than the Three Stooges.
Mad Dog - August 4, 2006 02:34 PM (GMT)
They should go back and do a Big Show/Batista iron man match.

Well, they are probably saving that for Mania.
Mad Dog - August 5, 2006 11:33 AM (GMT)
I really liked Smackdown this week. That show was just packed with wrestling.

Earlier today, the WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, received an urgent phone call from Hulk Hogan.
Hogan said that there’s a possibility that he has a cracked meniscus, which in turn could possibly prevent him from appearing on RAW this Monday night in Memphis, next week’s RAW in Charlottesville and even SummerSlam.
Hogan is scheduled to have an MRI to determine the extent of the injury and was despondent that he might not compete against the Legend Killer Randy Orton. The RAW roster is currently in Australia, and due to the time difference in Australia, Randy Orton was not available for comment.
Hulk Hogan is arguably the greatest WWE Legend of all time, and if his injury prevents him from competing against Randy Orton at SummerSlam, there is no doubt he will see him sometime in the future.

I meant to post that blurb about Hogan in the "comments that don't warrant a thread" in case anyone found that odd.

They should chain wrestle to a 90 minute draw with Kane and Giant Khali as the special guest referees.

Let me translate for you all.
HOGAN DIDN'T WANT TO JOB.
SamoaRowe - August 6, 2006 02:32 PM (GMT)
Not only did Hogan not want to job, but I think he woke up one morning and realized "Shit, I'm wrestling Randy Orton!"
Not only that, but I think he's probably a tad bit embarassed that his big return garnered a wonderful 2.6 rating, and he's afraid that Summerslam will do a poor buyrate. He doesn't want to be involved with anything that's not successful because then it will hurt his negotiating for later dates, because it will be more evident that he really isn't much of a draw these days.
Big F'N Swigg - August 6, 2006 02:46 PM (GMT)
Isn't this the same injury he got after Jarrett attacked him with a guitar?
Mad Dog - August 6, 2006 03:49 PM (GMT)
It's hard to say really. He did have a knee replaced a few years ago and he is in his 50s. A knee injury is quite possible. Now I do believe had this been a bigger match he would've toughed it out. I think he got hurt, did the math and decided it wasn't worth it.
Scrooge McSuck - August 7, 2006 01:15 PM (GMT)
Hogan had hip or knee surgery about a month after the apparent deal was done with Jarrett... Hogan knows when to injure himself, eh? Got out of jobbing to Triple J, and now is smart enough not to job to a guy who couldn't get heat in a desert.

Orton has been drawing decent heat for a few months now. If it wasn't for all of the stop gaps in between his pushes he'd be perfectly fine right now. At this point, Hogan should be jobbing to EVERYONE.
Real F'n Show - August 8, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
Better yet, he should, you know, stay the fuck retired.
prof_plague - August 8, 2006 04:07 AM (GMT)
w00t1 Umaga is still undefeated with a pin now over Triple H!
Big F'N Swigg - August 8, 2006 01:39 PM (GMT)
Isn't it sad that the most exciting part of RAW for me is the "This Week In Wrestling History" segment?
whitemilesdavis - August 8, 2006 01:49 PM (GMT)
The Foley/ Flair feud is going nowhere. Flair continually sounds drunk, and Foley's "great" promos are boring me to tears. I'm tired of speaches anyway.

:Looks at calender.:
Shea Stadium with the Bruno/Zbyszko Cage match?

I know you guys don't really care for the Diva Search, but this was the first segment of it this summer that I watched of it. And I must say, I'm hoping that Jen girl wins. She's the hottest of the bunch.

She's a former playmate too. So that alone makes me think she WON'T win.
Real F'n Show - August 8, 2006 07:20 PM (GMT)
Fuck that, J.T. all the way.
The Last Free Voice - August 8, 2006 07:53 PM (GMT)
All I saw of Raw last night was the "Diva" "promo's" and I must say, they were horrible. Absolutely horrible. Ring of Honor jobber level promo. Maybe even worse than that.
whitemilesdavis - August 8, 2006 08:05 PM (GMT)
Oh come on, you know you wanna tame that kitten.
Just want to add, Trish did crack me up wit the "whoop that trick" line.

The '04 Diss the Diva was better.
whitemilesdavis - August 8, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that one last night was incredibly lame. Christy Heeme pretty much wrapped up her victory with the cum-guzzling gutter slut line.
dynamite kido - August 8, 2006 09:19 PM (GMT)
You know what's really funny about the Diva segement last night?
It made me have an epiphany.
Why is it that wrestlers have to do scripted promos, yet the diva skanks can go out there with a live mic and have nothing scripted?
Real F'n Show - August 8, 2006 10:21 PM (GMT)
ECW tonight looks promising with Kurt Angle vs. Sabu and another Punk match...

I'm sure as hell watching.
Are they back to taping it after Smackdown this week?
Real F'n Show - August 8, 2006 10:42 PM (GMT)
I believe so, although it's being thrown around that they should have their own tapings soon. I agree, as the crowd last week MADE the episode...
eStragand - August 9, 2006 04:37 AM (GMT)
Caught the last half hour of ECWE. From now, everything I do on Tuesday will be EXTREME. I was watching an EXTREME Match-up between the Astros and Pirates. Matt Capps has an EXTREME breaking ball!
-Ariel/Shelly Martinez used to be stripper, no? For shit's sake, give the broad a pole to use in the ring.
-Hey...Kevin the Vampire wears a TIE when he wrestles! Who was the last person to do that? IRS? Undertaker and DiBiase always removed theirs.
-Big Show and everybody else: please remember when referencing Sabu: it's Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal--- in that order. I always remember "he'll kill himself... he'll kill you.. he'll kill EVERYBODY". See: first person, second person...umm...all other persons.
-WWE Drinking Game (especially fun for Big Show and Triple H): Everytime a wrestler uses the phrase "because you see.." in a promo, take a drink!
-Tazz Quotes of the Week: "That took a lot out of Sabu. And there's a lot in the body of Sabu". Okay, doesn't sound so bad when it's typed...but it sounded awful. Plus, Styles asked "you've fought both of these guys. Is there a weakness to either?" Tazz: "I dunno...."
-Rene Dupree is coming!!!! Wasn't it Scrooge who said, about a year ago, "Good thing they're ending the ECW angle....it'd only result in stupid shit like Snitsky joining ECW". Hey, it's more stupid shit!!
-It's so conveinent how wrestlers always think to throw their man outside the ring about 3 minutes into the match, for that commercial break!
-Nice chair toss/leg whip- in- the -general -area move!
-Never noticed this before, but RVD reminds me of the "Team America: World Police" version of Matt Damon. All Matt Damon would do in that movie was say his name...sorta' like RVD.
-Styles as the show was signing off: "and that's why ECW is EXTREME". They were trying for a "this is the kind of stuff you'll ONLY see in ECW"... but what's so unique or innovative about a DQ run-in ending?
SamoaRowe - August 9, 2006 04:39 AM (GMT)
No one is as extreme as Rene Dupree. I expect we'll see him teaming with Knox and Test in no time.
And no CM Punk wrestling this week :(

She probably was at some point. Before she became a wrestler around 2004, she's also an actress with bit parts, or as an extra, in movies like Little Nicky, Ali, Boys and Girls. She was also doing music videos for Kid Rock, Eve 6, and System of a Down. She was also a model before becoming a wrestler...like every other diva now. Although I read that she was once part of the "entertainment industry", take that as you will. And I may or may not acknowledge the fact that one of her modeling photos is from the latinsensations.con domain. (And no, I didn't go to the site and know it was her; the picture was up with other photos of her on wrestling web-sites.)

Vampires can be gentlemen, too.
