Title: NWA: Mexico Presents Glory Days

Mad Dog - July 30, 2006 12:26 AM (GMT)
Pre Show Match:

Charly Manson and Cuervo d. Alan and Billy Boy
High flying match that sees Manson and Cuervo win 2-1. *** 64/41/87

Glory Days PPV:

Joey Styles points out that NWA Central States' own Psicosis is in the crowd tonight. He's a legend in Mexico and will be interviewed later on.

Mexican Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final:
Averno and Mephisto d. Mexico's Most Wanted
They split the first two falls after some wild brawling. Averno stole the third fall after a low blow on Halloween and a roll up. ***1/4 70/51/89

Abismo Negro d. La Parka II
Negro took the first fall with a sleeper hold. Parka fought back in the second fall and won after hitting a tornado DDT and following that with the Sky Twist Press. Negro won the third fall when he unmasked Parka behind the ref's back and made the pinfall. **3/4 73/71/76

Abismo Negro and Cibernetico walk to the ringside seats and start berating Psicosis. They call him a traitor for not working here. Psicosis tries to settle them down but Cibernetico pulls him over the guard rail. They pummel him brutally and roll him into the ring. They wishbone him and Cibernetico applies a Boston Crab so Abismo Negro can hit a frog splash. Cibernetico tells the fallen Psicosis that he's not welcome here anymore.

Fuerza Guerrera d. Ultimo Dragon
Dragon got off to a quick start with an Asai DDT to take the first fall. Guerrera won the second with a Gory Special. Guerrera got the win after rolling through on a cross body block for the win. *** 75/66/84

Juventud Guerrera d. Dos Caras Jr.
Juvy picked up the win pretty easily. The only hiccup was Caras pinning him with a german suplex in the second fall and almost stealing the third fall with the same move. *** 71/64/79

Donovan Morgan d. Acero Dorado
Morgan looked impressive in his debut. The first fall featured lots of mat work as Morgan grounded the up and coming Dorado. He got the submission with a swinging surfboard. Dorado battled back in the second round and pinned Morgan after a backcracker. Morgan got the third fall after Dorado missed a moonsault and he got the quick rollup. ***1/2 74/57/92

Ultimo Guerrero d. Perro Aguayo Jr.
Pretty even bout the whole way. No one could keep a clear advantage for very long. Guerrero took the third fall when his partner Rey Bucanero blinded Aguayo with powder. *** 76/71/82

After the match Guerrero and Bucanero do a 2 on 1 beatdown until Mexico's Most Wanted runs in for the save.

Dr. Wagner Jr. d. L.A. Par-K
This brawl went all over the building. They were both DQd in the first fall for the sheer amount of brutality going on. Due to the first fall being thrown out the winner of the second fall wins the whole thing. Par-K hits a DDT and goes for the pin but thinks better of it. Par-K hits a piledriver for the DQ. *** 78/78/79

Main Event:
Mexican National Title Match:
El Hijo Del Santo © d. Cibernetico (2nd defense)
Cibernetico took the first fall on a cross face for the submission. Santo battled back in the second fall and got the pinfall after a cross body block from the top rope. Cibernetico looked to be on his way to victory. The ref got KOd after a missed dropkick from Santo. Abismo Negro hit the ring and hit a frog splash on the fallen Santo. Cibernetico was trying to revive the ref but a pissed off Psicosis hit the ring. He nailed Abismo Negro with a spinning heel kick and then nailed Cibernetico with a jumping DDT. Psicosis went to the top rope and nailed a guillotine leg drop. Psicosis rolled Santo on top and then hit a suicide plancha onto Abismo Negro. The ref manages to count the 1-2-3. ****1/4 84/72/97

Good, epic show. My only question, what was the game date of this show?

Mad Dog - August 11, 2006 08:05 AM (GMT)
Late August I think. My dates in game are all messed up due to me starting later than everyone else. Actually date is July 30th I think.

Big F'N Swigg - August 11, 2006 12:49 PM (GMT)
Was "Glory Days" the theme song? I think Mexicans like that song
