Title: Sign 5 Replacements

Mad Dog - July 25, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
To help boost the roster with all of the suspensions sign 5 wrestlers. The only rules to this:

1. They have to have some name recognition. No signing some indy darling no one has heard of.
2. They can't be under contract to another company.
3. They have to pass drug testing to get into the company.
4. Call ups are allowed.

Mine:

1. Diamond Dallas Page: I think he's really a no brainer for this one.
2. Road Warrior Animal: He was just on tv recently which is a big bonus.
3. Freakin Deacon: Just on tv but let him do his goofy Deep South act in the big leagues
4. Bill DeMott: Stick him back in the ring.
5. Mark Magnus: Bring him back into the fold with a better gimmick.

Well, I don't technically know if ROH guys are under contract, or if most of them work open dates. No clue really.

1. Kanyon: Still making waves with news, and WWE would love to make this into another horrible sterotypical angle and destroy his credibility and then cut him for no reason when they don't want him to play the Arab-- I mean, gay character anymore.

2. Sean O'Haire: Saw him work a dark match a while back, but I'm pretty sure he isn't contracted. He should definitely return, and could be a huge force on Smackdown, probably having a decent feud (in and out of the ring) with Batista for a hoss-feud.

3. Rikishi: No clue what he is doing, but people would remember him, and I'm sure they could find something to do with him. He can work, at least a little bit. He's better than Mark Henry, I'll tell you that.

4. Faarooq. Not sure what his status is either, but I'm sure the right amount of money could bring him back as somebody's enforcer, in an APA type role. The inevitable JBL-Faarooq feud would actually be quite fun. Maybe not in the ring, but when does that matter anymore in the E.

5. Jeff Hardy. God help me for saying it, but he is still a draw, and I'd say more people care about him in the Impact Zone than anyone not named Joe at this point. It makes me want to cry, and I don't understand it, but I'd be all for someone huge Heel eating him and throwing him off of a building or something.

And for the record, DDP's ass is like FUCKIN FIFTY! NO!

edit: Shit, I thought you said that Call Ups WERE NOT allowed. So that's what this list represents.

Mad Dog - July 25, 2006 08:42 PM (GMT)
I can't allow Jeff Hardy. He wouldn't pass the wellness policy.

EDIT: I think O'Haire's doing MMA now. Isn't Farooq like 50 too?

DDP is 50 but he's in good shape and still a good enough worker for a short term replacement. If you can have Hogan and Flair still wrestling then why not DDP?

jamiegeist - July 25, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
I don't want Hogan, Flair, or Page wrestling.

O'Haire has been in and out of MMA, but wrestled a dark match when I went to Smackdown just before Mania. So, I don't know. And yeah, Faarooq is old as shit as well.

Sure, Jeff Hardy would pass. He'd just give the tester a hummer and they'd forget all about it.

Umm, wow. Interesting picks so far. Good topic.

1. Goldberg - That's an easy call for me. He's the closest thing to a big draw left out there.

2. Brock - See lesser version of #1.

3. Kanyon - I would dump the gay gimmick that didn't go over. I don't care if he's really gay, it doesn't have to be his gimmick.

4. Orlando Jordan - Come to think of it, maybe he and Kanyon could do the Rainbow Express 2006.

5. I think Rikishi could be a good idea?

Mad Dog - July 25, 2006 09:28 PM (GMT)
I don't think they could get Rikishi back as he's running that promotion in Italy.

Goldberg

Brock

Matt Morgan

CM Punk

Brett Albright (since he's apparently been demoted to OVW)

CM Punk can't count, as he's on one of the major shows already. I thought about Albright too, but didn't know how he'd fit. Good call on Matt Morgan, he kind of slipped my mind.

I thought about Morgan but was unsure if he could get past the testing.

Yeah, but Punk hasn't debuted yet. They could bring him in as an instant heel because he left ECW without ever even wrestling there.
