So, the big discussion at home is me and my brother going to Mania next year, for his 21st birthday.
Anyone here from Detroit? Anything to do? Shopping, comics, stuff like that?

Detroit's pretty much a hellhole. If you're going there in hopes of a fun vacation, I'd recommend flying into and staying in Toronto or London, Ontario. It's about a 3 hour drive to Detroit (less from London).

I'm not going for a holiday. The way we figure - fly out Thursday/Friday Morning, mooch around Friday/Saturday, because there has to be something Mania-wise going on - Sunday is Mania, Monday do a bit of shopping/touristy shit, fly home tuesday.

I can garuntee that ROH will run a show in the area Mania weekend. Maybe more than one. I know it's not your cup of tea, but I'd still think you'd find some way to enjoy it. If only to piss off the smarky crowd.

Dude - last time I was in New York I was supposed to go to a ROH show, except we waited at the wrong place for the bus. Can't remember what show it was. Main event was possibly Steve Corino vs Homicide. It was 2002, my memory is fuzzy

Probably the One Year Anniversary show. I havn't seen it, but It's farily infamous for the "Riot" that introduced Smokes to the ROH world.
