Title: When Benoit returns...

Real F'n Show - July 8, 2006 12:13 AM (GMT)
...anyone else think they should turn him heel?

It's been forever since we've seen badass heel Benoit, like since 2002.

He could return and get some revenge on Mark Henry, then have a confrontation with Rey, and beat his ass. They could go the "I've went downhill ever since I lost the belt and now I need it back" route in a feud between the two. Or even a turn on Gunner Scott would be awesome.

I know Smackdown is already heel-heavy, but fuck do I miss heel Benoit. More than likely they'll throw him in on the Batista/Lashley/Rey side of their battle with Booker/Henry/Regal/Finlay, which will also rule, I guess...

They should bring him back heel under one condition.

That he's gonna be ass kicking, submitting everyone on the roster, wrestling badass heel.

SamoaRowe - July 8, 2006 09:12 PM (GMT)
If Benoit comes back heel, I want him to be destroying someone for the World title within a few months. No more of this U.S. title horse shit, if you ask me.

Real F'n Show - July 9, 2006 12:02 AM (GMT)
Who doesn't want a heel Benoit vs. face Mysterio feud over the title?

Colcollazo - July 9, 2006 12:13 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't mind Benoit as heel, but he's bound to come back looking for Henry...

jamiegeist - July 9, 2006 12:18 AM (GMT)
In regards to Mark Henry, I haven't wished serious injury on somebody this bad since Triple H back around 03.

Vince McMahon

Nice.

prof_plague - July 9, 2006 05:27 AM (GMT)
I think a Benoit/Regal/Finlay stable would be nice. All old school mat technician wrestlers.

We might as well leave Booker in the stable, too, since they have nothing too do with him, besides the fact that he's an aging wrestling. The only thing is that unlike Benoit, Regal and Finlay, booker T hasn't been able to keep-up as much and sitll look good in the ring; but then again, his style is completely different.

See, you just needed to wait a week.

The rumor going around the internet now is that Benoit will be returning this fall. I have no way to confirm the validity of this report, but I remain hopeful none the less.

And he's going to returning by going commentary with JBL.

He'll probably be sent to ECW, since it'll be pretty much dead by then.

SamoaRowe - August 3, 2006 12:44 PM (GMT)
At this rate, Smackdown is going to need him far more than ECW will.... which means he'll be sent to ECW.

whitemilesdavis - August 3, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
He'll go back to Smackdwon, be a World Title challenger for a month, then be sent directly back to the mid-card.

SamoaRowe - August 3, 2006 08:18 PM (GMT)
What you said, except he'll be a World title contender for 2 weeks.

whitemilesdavis - August 3, 2006 08:28 PM (GMT)
Nah, they'll work it for one PPV, at the least.

wildpegasus - September 18, 2006 04:36 AM (GMT)
If Benoit does come back as a heel than he HAS to win the world title or it is not worth turning to the dark side. The heel turn has to have importance and motivation.

Apparantly, they're actually about different ideas for when he comes back. Now, that's a first. Knowing how the WWE books though -- that could be a bad thing.

Btw guys, he should be back soon. Don't be surprised to see him back as soon as this week's Smackdown.

smkelly13 - September 28, 2006 05:51 AM (GMT)
Well, he's not any younger, still banged up, might as well have him as the grizzled, tough veteran that is still very much a threat to the title. I would hope he'd get another reign before retirement, he's been awfully loyal to Vince, and the fans love him.

wildpegasus - September 29, 2006 02:00 PM (GMT)

It's been quiet on the Benoit newsfront lately. I remember he was supposed to be on some houseshows but I forget when that was going to be. I'll have to do some research. Maybe something is up?
