Title: July
Description: What are you watching?

I just got my latest hook-up (thanks to DK) so here's what I wa watching over the weekend:

Slammiversary: Enjoyed it. If TNA got two hours of TV, and made the regular TV shows more like the PPV's, they would compete with Vince.

Best of Southern Comfort: Very fun comp with loads of Chris Hamrick goodness. Only disappointing match on the thing is Punk and Cabana vs. Southern Comfort. It just never clicked.

Best of Arn Anderson: Very good NWA comp of Arn and the Horsemen. This disc reminded me why guys like Arn and Flair made Mid-Atlantic so good. They could take a 10 minute TV match with a jobber and make it interesting. That seems lost today.

Best of Hayabusa: This is my favorite of the bunch right now. Hayabusa was one cool mofo who did garbage wrestling right. Great stuff.

Sounds like you watched some fun stuff.

Yesterday I watched some Bushido Episodes, which is basically old UWF-i matches with English commentary, and they play up the fights as 100% real, even though they were worked-shoots. I forgot how awesome some of these matches were. Albright was a burly motherfucker who wasn't afraid to fucking murder you with a suplex and the regulars like Takada and Yamazaki were fantastic as always...

Glad you are enjoying your stuff.

You see the Hayabusa injury yet? It's pretty brutal.

Yeah, I watched the whole thing. That bump really reminded me of Christopher Daniel's bump on Nitro. Makes me realize how lucky he is to be back in the ring.
(Daniels that is. Hayabusa is obviously retired.)

Ugh... I'm watching JAPW Worldwide and they have this guy that's 6'0'' and not even 300 lbs. and they're treating him like he's fucking Earthquake.

Watched Wrestlemania 2 for some reason today. I forgot how much this show sucked, really. A decent battle royal, passable cage match, and pretty good tag title match were the highlights. Did Valentine and Dynamite ever have any singles matches?

They might have had some stuff on house shows here and there, but nothing that was actually captured on video to my knowledge.

I got a couple of OVW tapes off the RoH website thanks to their 15% off sale earlier this week.

I watched the first episode on my OVW tapes. It was a recap show which they do on holidays. They spent the whole hour building up the match between Nick Dinsmore and Johnny Jeter for the OVW Title that's going to happen on the next show. Really good build up. Hopefully there isn't that macrovision crap on the tapes so I can transfer it to DVD.
