Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis vs. Konnan and Ray Gonzalez

Konnan cuts his typical promo. Konnan and Psicosis start. Konnan tosses Psicosis. Konnan hits a head scissors followed by a couple of armdrags. He goes for the summersault clothesline but Psicosis takes cover in the ropes. Gonzalez and Juvy tag in. Shoving match to start. Juvy does a ropes run fakeout and drops an elbow on Gonzalez. Double drop toe hold followed by a double dropkick. Psicosis hits a snapmare followed by a leg drop for two. Psicosis hits a bodyslam followed by a springboard legdrop for two from Juvy. They take turns pummeling Gonzalez for a bit. Psicosis ducks for a back bodydrop but Gonzalez catches him with a kick and a clothesline. Psicosis tries to prevent the tag and gets an enziguri for his trouble. Hot tag time as Konnan tosses Juvy and hits Psicosis with a DDT. Konnan and Gonzalez hit Juvy with a double hiptoss for two. Psicosis makes the save and then hits Konnan off the apron. Psicosis with a dropkick to the knee on Gonzalez followed by Juvy hitting the Juvy Driver. Juvy goes for the 450 splash but Konnan trips him up. Konnan clotheslines Psicosis to the outside. Gonzalez hits a Twist of Fate looking neckbreaker for the 3. *1/4. Total formula match here made completely by the work of Juvy and Psicosis. The key to this match was that Konnan was on the apron for 90% of it. Not a bad way to start the show.

WINNERS: Konnan and Ray Gonzalez

Ian Harrison promo. I should not these are between the commerical breaks and it's just stars saying the XWF and some little blurb that's in character for them.

Mean Gene introduces Rena Mero. Oh joy. I've never liked her face at all. She's a true butter face if you ask me. She says the same stuff as last week. Mean Gene questions her over Piper costing Hennig a match last week which cues Piper coming out. This is a long sexual reference. Notice that Piper talks to her tits for the most part. Vampiro comes out and talks to her tits as well. Vampiro wants to thank them on the part of the young guys and for giving them a chance. I'm kind of surprised that they're playing him as a face. Doesn't really fit with him. Yeah, a whole lot of nothing. They did sow some seeds of dissent with Mero/Piper.

Vito promo.

South Philly Posse aka Public Enemy run into Jasmin St. Claire on the streets. They hit on her and get shot down. There's 2 more dead guys involved in this.

Maximum Force comes out. Diamond confronts Lawler about saying some negative things about Dawn Marie. Pretty good rundown on Diamond's part. This leads to them getting into a match.

Simon Diamond w/ Johnny Swinger and Dawn Marie vs. Jerry Lawler

Lock up and Lawler backs Diamond into the corner. Swinger attacks and the double team Lawler. He ducks a couple of double teams and hits the Piledriver on Diamond for the win. Dud. Way to make the new tag team look like total chumps on their first match. Lawler does his usually bullshit of not selling and not taking two counts and such. I hated this.

WINNER: Jerry Lawler

Sonny Ono introduces his new wrestler Vapor (Ryan Sakoda).

Hail w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Knuckles

I don't know who Knuckles is. Just some generic jobber. Hail tosses Knuckes into the corner and pummels him. An Avalanche followeed by a suplex off the top rope. Shoulderbreaker and leg drop finish it. Dud. Total squash.

WINNER: Hail

AJ Styles promo.

Backstage: Greg Valentine complains about not having a match tonight. Horace Hogan has the same complaint. Piper walks up. He talks about getting Hogan another match next week while he keeps slapping Valentine on the chest. Slightly amusing actually.

Norman Smiley vs. Johnny B. Badd

Smiley works over the head/arm a bit to start. Back and forth until Smiley hits a hiptoss and stops things to dance a bit. Lock up and Badd gets a hammerlock into a headlock. Same back and forth spot as before except that Badd finishes with the hiptoss this time around. Badd stops things to dance a bit. Smiley ducks a lockup and hits a knee. Smiley with a headbutt followed by an uppercut in the corner. Smiley sends Badd into the corner and hits the swinging bodyslam. Smiley does a fakeout on the Big Wiggle. Smiley hits an elbow followed by a clothesline for two. Smiley gets a headlock and Badd fights out with elbows. Badd pummels Smiley in the corner. Badd sends Smiley into the corner but charges into a boot. Smiley hits a clothesline and follows it up with a double underhook slam for two. Smiley applies a grapevine but can't get the submission. Badd reverses an irish whip into the TKO for the three count. **, surprising good match there. It was a simple match but it reminded me of those main events you used to get on Worldwide or Shotgun Saturday Night back in the days.

WINNER: Johnny B. Badd

Drezden promo.

Shane Twins vs. Road Warriors

This was supposed to be a rematch from last week but the Road Warriors come out as their opponents instead for whatever reason. Road Warriors get a huge reaction. Road Warriors attack and destroy the Shane Twins. Animal sends one into the corner and hits a clothesline. He tries it again but gets caught with a boot and a running elbow from the Shane Twin. Shane Twin hits a snapmare for two. Shane Twin gets a wristlock takedown but then Animal levels him with a clothesline. Hawk tags in. Several lockups are stalemates so Hawk gets control with a kick and a chop. Hawk catches Shane Twin with a great dropkick. Out of the ring they go. Shane Twin runs back into the ring and catches Hawk as he re-enters. Vertical suplex on Hawk but he fights back and gets a neckbreaker for two. Hawk charges into the corner but Shane ducks and Hawk crashes into the ringpost and then to the outside. Shane Twin tosses him back in. Double shoulderblock takes Hawk down. Fist drop from Shane Twin gets two. Swinging neckbreaker followed by Hawk getting pummeled in the corner. Shane Twin sends Hawk into the corner and hits a clothesline. They blow a spot there as Hawk trips and falls. Hot tag time as Animal cleans house. He escapes a double back body drop and hits a double clothesline. Doomsday Device but the Nasty Boys pull the ref out for the DQ. 1/4*. The Shane Twins suck but I have to give the XWF credit. They are actually pushing new guys. This would be your typical Road Warriors fare.

WINNERS: Road Warriors

Jimmy Snuka and Jimmy Snuka Jr. promo.

Main Event
Curt Hennig w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Buff Bagwell

Heenan sounds better this time around. Lockup and Bagwell pushes Hennig into the corner. Hennig bails to the outside and Bagwell stomps on Heenan's hand. Lockup and Hennig gets a headlock. Hennig hits a shoulderblock off the ropes. Lockup and Hennig gets Bagwell into the corner for some chops. Bagwell reverses a whip and hits a hiptoss and follows it up with a dropkick. Hennig does the oversell and falls to the outside. Hennig hits a jawbreaker on the ropes before getting back into the ring. Hennig necksnap followed by some kicks to the gut. Hennig uses Bagwell's necklace to choke him and then chokes him on the ropes. Hennig beats on Hennig and Heenan fakes punching Bagwell. Hennig applies an abdominal stretch and grabs the ropes and then hits an eblow on Bagwell. Hennig applies a Boston Crab for a bit. Bagwell gets an eyerake and follows it up with a jawbreaker. Bagwell hits an elbow followed by a clothesline for two. Bagwell goes for the Buff Blockbuster but Heenan pushes him off the top into a Perfect-Plex for the win. *3/4. Solid enough match. Just needed more time.

WINNER: Curt Hennig

Vampiro comes out to argue the decision but Hennig pops him one. Bagwell joins the fight but Ian Harrison comes out for the save. Piper comes out and attacks Hennig. Rena Mero comes out and berates Piper for getting involved as the show closes.

Overall:

Smiley/Badd, the tag match and Hennig/Bagwell were pretty fun for the most part. Nothing to write home about but good enough for television. I'd say this episode was definately better than the first inring wise. A little more boring with all of the side stuff. The Lawler/Diamond thing sucked as it was vintage Lawler not giving anything to anyone. As I said on the first episode, I would probably watch this every week if it was on tv.

Next up Episode 3 with AJ Styles challenging Kid Kash for the XWF Cruiserweight Title and the inring debut of Josh Matthews.
