Title: WWE TV Discussion 1/10 - 1/17/05
Description: Raw, Smackdown, Velocity, Heat
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
I don't know if this is a good idea or not (it's worth a shot). Since we obviously don't have too many posters, I think combining all the discussion for this weeks WWE TV would good idea. It saves time from making several different topics for each show that will get minimal results and can compare reactions to the different shows.
Real F'n Show - January 11, 2005 12:59 AM (GMT)
It's fine with me. I'm hoping they'll show the clip of Benoit doing the headbutt off the chamber tonight on Raw, since I missed it and can't find the download.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 01:04 AM (GMT)
I hope it was safer than the diving headbutt from the top of a Steel Cage. Damn was that a horrible choice concerning his neck problems at the time.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)
So... is Hunter shooting on everyone, or... did someone slip him Kool-Aid?
Orton continues to stir the pot as he shows footage of Hunter not saving Batista from a pinfall... and Batista looks pissed off. SLOW BURN BABY!
#1 Contenders Match tonight... Randy Orton vs. Batista. GO BATISTA!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shelton Benjamin vs. Maven in a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match. Maven continues the ugly tights streak from the gay tropical rainbow of Skittles.
Result: Shelton Benjamin wins in about 40 seconds.
Later Tonight: Christy vs. Maria in a Lingerie Pillow Fight tonight... (gets lubrication substances)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Muhammad Hassan and Daivari come out to run mouths again. Coming up now is The Hurricane vs. Hassan.
Result: Hassan pins Hurricane with the Downward Spiral in about 2:00.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Backstage segment with Batista and Triple H. Three guesses what Hunter has to say to Batista... he's trying to save his own ass. Batista hints some more, as Hunter says Batista deserves a title shot, and Batista returns with "We all get what we deserve" and Hunter has a not so good look on his face.
Coming up... Royal Rumble Qualifying Match: Edge vs. COMMERCIAL BREAK! Actually... it's Edge vs. BURGER KING! OK, enough imitations of CLZ or whoever. It's Edge vs. Rhyno.
Result: Edge wins with the spear and reverse Sharpshooter move in 4:00. After the match, Edge calls out Michaels as we cut to a commercial.
NOTE: J.R. pretty much gives away the Rumble result, saying THE RUMBLE WINNER CAN CHALLENGE FOR WHICHEVER SHOWS TITLE. So either this means if someone on RAW wins, they go to Smackdown, and vice versa.
Big F'N Swigg - January 11, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
I hate the fact that Edge beats Rhyno with the Spear. It's a slap in the face. Especially since Edge is as skinny as LFV.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
Edge insulting HBK = Rules. Edge does have a point though. He keeps getting screwed... and out comes Michaels to get his precious T.V. time. Where's Hassan to kick his ass?
WOAH! Shawn shoots on himself! I DONT BELIEVE IT!
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 03:00 AM (GMT)
You Screwed Bret chants in FT. LAUDERDALE, FL! AHAHAH! What a crazy bunch of idiots... Oh shit, I'm from Florida. Shawn's comeback is kinda funny.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simon Dean comes out with his lisping to insult Florida... Wait... YOU COCKSUCKER! I Hope Kane comes out and kills the bastard. Someone over 300 lbs. and wore a mask...
KAAAAAAANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
Kane tries to make Simon Dean over-dose on weight loss pills... and beats the piss out of the guy and goes for the chokeslam... and delays for about 50 seconds until Snitsky nails him with a chait and scares Simon Dean like a girl.
Great, Snitsky beats up Kane again... ANOTHER CONDOM IN THE MOUTH WITH BLOOD? Jesus Christ... COME ON KANE!
Mad Dog - January 11, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
This sounds like a really really boring show.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
This show really dipped in quality in the last 40 minutes.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 03:48 AM (GMT)
Next Week in Toronto... Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho! Kane vs. Snitsky!
Also a vignette for Chris Masters aired... and looks like he is getting Jindraks aborted Narcissist gimmick.
Mad Dog - January 11, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
This is why I don't buy PPVs. By next week they'll have given away half of the PPV matches for free.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
Batista chants as the crowd no sells Ortons "gay fuck" posing that he stole from Romeo & Juliet.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 04:01 AM (GMT)
Hunter is at ringside, and a couple of people are chanting "You Screwed Chyna". Are they smarks or just drunk idiots? TUNE INTO RAW NEXT WEEK TO FIND OUT!
TehDoct0r - January 11, 2005 05:06 AM (GMT)
A couple things.....
I think you're right about whoever winning the Rumble jumping. It would get kinda pointless if they do it again after Benoit did it last year (although the execution of that whole thing was awesome). But between the Ross comment, and HHH talking about "anyone on any show," I kinda got the vibe that they'd pull a switcheroo again.
I absolutely love the current Evolution plus Randy Orton hijinx. Say what you want about Orton and HHH (as they aren't this boards darlings) but I have been extremely entertained by them the past while. Tonight was a great example of that. Orton's "babyface charisma" still isn't up to snuff, but what they have him doing is good enough to keep him interesting for me.
Kane and Snitsky need to be separated forever.
I missed William Regal tonight.
Tonight's RAW was better than last night's PPV, in my humble opinion.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 05:26 AM (GMT)
Snitsky needs to be sent back where he came from. Murdering chickens on a farm in Buttfuck, Texas.
dynamite kido - January 11, 2005 06:36 AM (GMT)
Well, I figure that I would come and post my opinion of the show tonight.
First off, match quality was VERY low for everything, although the main event was probably in the *** area. Nothing more though, but it did the job. I thought they did a pretty good job with Bautista AGAIN, and HHH is doing what he should with the sturring of the pot and such.
One thing that did really piss me off though was the fact that they ACTUALLY did Maven/Benjamin tonight after the bullshit they pulled last night on the PPV with Maven basically getting pinned twice with less than 10 seconds of actual match time on the PPV. Then tonight they put them out there to have a match that I don't even think went past the 5 minute mark. Well, WWE......now you know. Maven ain't worth a shit and he hasn't been since day one. CUT HIM.
I must admit that I was actually surprised that they had Snitsky come out and do anything with Kane, but they did. Apparently though by the end of the show I realized the only reason Snitsky DID come back was because they were going to do Kane/Snitsky next week on Raw. Apparently the WWE decided to give us a glimps into their future plans with Simon Dean now too.............NOTHING. I honestly can't say that I care either....he's been horrible.
Jericho/Benoit next week also proves that the WWE might just be willing to give you more on TV than they do on PPV. No complaints here as I actually watched New Year's Revolution and I kinda figure that they owe me a match..........or twelve.
Anyone else notice how much it seems Christian has fallen on the card? I know he did the stuff with Edge on the PPV, but honestly match wise....he hasn't been in anything really important since around Taboo Tuesday (That's even if you remotely consider him and Shelton important.)
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 06:43 AM (GMT)
Well, to be honest, he is a midcarder, and RAW needs a new Tag Team. Jobbing them (Christian & Tomko) out though makes zero sense. I guess he's in limbo, but not bad enough limbo where he's on constant Heat duty.
Anyone else laugh at how late Snitsky was on his run-in? I swear Kane had to stand there for about a minute, looking like a fool while Snitsky doesn't know how to tell time. (shakes head) At least this won't lead to another 3 months without Kane.

Actually he was about 13 seconds behind. I counted believe it or not (I have DVR, so I just rewound it.)
Mad Dog - January 11, 2005 06:48 AM (GMT)
They need to consider bringing jobbers back and doing squash matches for 3 out of the 5 Raw matches these days. It's the only way they'll build anyone up.
D.A.V.E. - January 11, 2005 02:55 PM (GMT)
Standard Dave Theroy On Maven: He would have been part of the great November Massacre Of Tha Midcard, had Shawn Michaels not gotten himself injured.
He'll be gone within six months, hopefully taking Grenier with him
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 05:11 PM (GMT)
That 13 seconds feels like a lifetime when it's a chokeslam spot. I can understand 1 or 2 seconds and Kane has to hold someone in the air, but he just stood there... and just... ugh.
whitemilesdavis - January 11, 2005 05:39 PM (GMT)
You know, he should have just gone ahead and chokeslammed Simon. It wouldn't have hurt anything, as a) Simon is done, and B) Snitzky had no reason to save Simon, so if he came out after the slam, no big deal. These guys can't improv at all.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 05:42 PM (GMT)
Kane isn't even fat. Why would he want to have the weight-loss pills? IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!
Prediction for next week: Someone new shows up and helps Snitsky.

Do I even want to know who this "new" guy is gonna be?
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 07:24 PM (GMT)
Probably someone who fits the following description...
1. Is taller than 6'6"
2. Weighs more than 300 lbs.
3. Can't wrestle to save his life
4. Won't have any heat.
TehDoct0r - January 11, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)
I bet he uses a chokelsam or a powerbomb as a finisher too, right?
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 07:49 PM (GMT)
Maybe. You do realize I am bullshitting here, right? Although knowing WWE writing/creative, this probably would happen.

So they are bringing in the entire OVW to help Snitsky?
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 10:09 PM (GMT)
Depending on the booking team. Sometimes 10 people can't stop Kane, and sometimes Matt Hardy can with one hand tied behind his back.

or Shane McMahon.
Real F'n Show - January 11, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
Jericho vs. Benoit? When did they announce that? And isn't next week's Raw in Canada too? Awesome. I'm definately taping that match.

Nothing can stop Shane McMahon. Remember when he beat the Big Show?

Kurt Angle can stop Shane McMahon. Because he's my personal superhero.
Scrooge McSuck - January 13, 2005 01:42 AM (GMT)
No one can stop Shane McMahon. He's Superman... well, just throw some holy water and kryptonite in his face, that will stop his sorry ass.

So he's a mixture of Vince, Superman, and Satan?
Mad Dog - January 14, 2005 06:11 PM (GMT)
I'll give the WWF credit. At least 2004 wasn't all McMahon all the time like 2003 was.
Scrooge McSuck - January 14, 2005 06:15 PM (GMT)
I gotta admit from January-July, 2004 was pretty good. RAW was still enjoyable after that, but not as much, and Smackdown completely went down the shitter then.
WWE should've kept Mordecai damn it! At least he's better than John Heidenreich.

Don't forget Dracula... McMahons are blood sucking leeches who mooch off others heat.

Yea. And Moredecai didn't even really get a chance before he was demoted.
