Title: Does anyone here actively watch or follow....
dynamite kido - January 10, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
OVW? I was just curious as to who here watches it and follows it. I've seen it several times and I really don't like it. It's booked well, and put together correctly for the most part..............but I've never been big on it. Any recommendations or anything that may change my mind?

I want to get some of the tapes from 99-01 but the current roster they have doesn't interest me at all. Just too many hosses and bodybuilders who their trying to make into wrestlers.

Some of the stuff I saw was the earlier stuff.....I still didn't like it.

Most of the workers that were enjoyable (Rob Conway, Nick Dinsmore, Rico to name a few) were either called up and misused, or fired because they couldn't come up with an angle/

If you can get away from Cornette being stuck in the 80's, and knowning the workers have ashort shelflife, thus making it impossible to get behind them, it's fun to watch.
Plus Cornette had the stones to do the "Bob Holly Is A Cock" Angle with one of the Tough Enough kids, and he had an interesting take on the Muhammed Hassan angle, which led to a fan jumping the railing and nailing him in the mushy.
Plus Alexis Laree works there

Haven't seen much really.
I saw Benoit vs. Dinsmore and Benoit vs. Doug Basham from OVW shows, but it's fucking Benoit wrestling, so I can't judge their actual wrestlers.

Benoit carried Kane to a 4-star match. You're right, it's not fair to judge the workers when wrestling Benoit. Of course, he couldn't get a * match out of Viscera, so that can say something.

I'd hardly blame that on Benoit though

Oh man, he's brutal. I almost forgot about him. I was actually starting to get into the Dupree/Conway tandem, too. Damn brand split.

I GET IT....you like KANE. But that match is far from **** brother.
Scrooge McSuck - January 11, 2005 06:28 AM (GMT)
OK... is *** more realistic? It was definitely one of his best matches, and was far more entertaining than anything he's done in the last 3 or so years.
dynamite kido - January 11, 2005 06:38 AM (GMT)
*** tops. Nothing higher than that from me though.....
