NWA Central States Wrestling presents....
CSW Cyclone Saturday Night
June 24, 2006
Announcers: Joey Styles & Tazz
KC Uptown Theatre. Kansas City, KSA video package opens the show, showing the highlights from last week. Charlie Haas pinning Triple H, and then the showdown that ALMOST happened afterwards between Triple H and Jeff Jarrett. Brock Lesnar being dumped out of the Battle Royal in a group of other wrestlers by his “partner” Steve Corino, and then chasing Corino out of the building. Petey Williams winning the Battlebowl Battle Royal, and embracing with his new manager, Trish Stratus. The generic Cyclone video rolls, and Cyclone is NOW!
In-Ring Segment: Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury... Steve Corino’s music opens up Cyclone, and Corino heads to the ring with a look of distress on his face. As he rolls into the ring, he grabs a microphone and addresses the live audience:
Corino:
You know, there seems to be a misunderstanding. Last week, something happened. Something went down. Plans fell apart. Brock Lesnar and I were supposed to be standing in the ring at the end of the Battle Royal, squaring off for the right to go to Redemption. But then...well, then this happened. Take a look. Corino points to the large screen above the entranceway, and video rolls of Corino simultaneously dumping Lesnar, Austin Aries, and Billy Kidman last week.
Corino:
Now, I know how it looks in regular play. But what I want to do right now is have you take another look at this footage. Now Brock, I hope you’re watching. I’ve been trying to call you, email you, text you, all week long. Brock, I’m sorry. But this is wrestling, and accidents do happen. Let us not forget the more than 8 month World Title reign of John Bradshaw Layfield. Anyway, back to the footage. Let me introduce exhibit A. This time, in slow motion. Corino calls for the footage again, but this time, talks over it as it happens in slow motion.
Corino:
Now if you look really close, you can see, Lesnar’s foot actually is entangled around Billy Kidman’s leg. So when I went to toss Kidman with my right arm, and Aries with my left....well, Brock got stuck. Now I know, that part right there, where it looks like I help shove Lesnar over by his backside. That was actually me trying to grab him to bring him back in, as he did for me earlier. If this doesn’t make it crystal clear, I’d like to offer exhibit B. From a reverse camera angle, I obtained from CSW officials, and trust me, this wasn’t easy. Okay guys, roll Exhibit B! As Corino points to the screen, a
TRIPLE H graphic fills it instead, and his music blasts throughout the arena. Triple H comes walking out, in ring gears, and heads straight into the ring, grabbing a microphone from a ringside attendant. He seems to completely ignore Corino, who stares at him as he walks by.
Triple H:
Jeff Jarrett! Get your ass out here right now. For 1 solid week I’ve had to sit around and listen to the fact that I was pinned right here last week by Charlie Haas. BY CHARLIE HAAS! And it is your fault Jeff. Triple H is cut off by Corino.
Corino:
Ummm, excuse me? I was talking here. I was about to show Exhibit B, which proves that last week was purel—Triple:
And I would’ve kicked your ass last week Jarrett, had I not just finished over 10 minutes of grueling competition in the ring. But now, we’re on a level playing field. And now, I want you to come to the ring, and get what you have coming to you. I’m not waiting for Redemption. I want your ass now Jarrett. Corino:
Are you done? Because if so, I’d like to at this time, call attention to the screen, where it –Corino is again cut off, this time by Jeff Jarrett’s music. Jarrett walks out to the front of the entranceway, with the CSW Championship on his shoulder. Corino looks to be getting pissed off in the ring, just holding his microphone at his side, with one hand on his hip, waiting for him time.
Jarrett:
So Triple H. NOW you want to fight? Now you want me one on one in the ring? Last week wasn’t good enough for you, because it wasn’t on your terms. Well tonight, it is your lucky night. I just came from President Hart’s office, and tonight, you and I are gonna meet right in the center of that ring. Triple:
Jarrett, what the hell are you talking about? I know Hart wouldn’t put you and I in the ring here in the KC Uptown Theatre in front of all these lowlifes. We have Kemper Arena in 6 days, and that’s where the money is. Corino attempt to jump in, but barely mutters a word before Triple H continues. Corino leans against the ropes, tired of this treatment.
Triple H:
Hell, THIS is where the money is. Right here. I’m Triple H, and I’m the man that puts the asses in the seats here in CSW. Jarrett:
You’re right Triple H. It won’t be you and I one on one. Instead, it’ll be you and I across the ring from each other in a tag team match. And I think you’ve already met your tag team partner. Cause he is standing right there in the ring with you. Steve Corino. Triple H, now seemingly noticing Corino for the first time since he came out here, has a look of angry disappointment on his face. Corino is suddenly much more chipper, stepping over to Triple H and putting his arm around him.
Corino:
Oh yeah Double J! And what moron did you find to be your partner? Jarrett:
The “moron” that will be my partner is none other than Brock Lesnar, and I’ll be sure to let him know what you said. See ya in the ring boys! Corino’s proud look of confidence suddenly turns to fright as Triple H shoves Corino’s arm off of his shoulder. Triple H looks at Corino, almost accusing him of getting them into this mess, and leaves the ringside area. Corino thinks about continuing his presentation, but mouths the word “moron” to himself, and leaves the ringside area.
(84) CSW Tag Team Title Match: Natural Born Thrillers v ?????????? The announcers inform us that this will be our first match, as there will be no Cyclone Spotlight tonight due to Brent Albright’s participation in the Battle Royal later tonight. The Thrillers head to the ring, not looking happy with their situation this week, where they face a mystery tag team and then go on to Redemption into a 4 way Elimination match, should they win tonight. They anxiously await, when
Nova’s music hits and the former Simon Dean heads to the ring, microphone in hand.
Nova:
When I heard I would be getting this opportunity, to come here tonight and get a shot at the CSW Tag Team Titles, I just knew I had to make it work. So I started thinking of former tag team partners, former friends, former co-workers. It could’ve been Chris Chetti, but he was released. Then I thought Steven Richards, but he is elsewhere doing other things. Hell, I even called the Meanie, but it was to no avail. So I decided it was time to go back to my roots, and get a little EXTREME tonight. So Natural Born Thrillers, this really isn’t your week. My partner......NEW JACK!New Jack runs out to the ring with a trashcan full of weapons in hand. As he throws it over the top rope into the ring, the referee quickly kicks it out of the way. The Thrillers take it right to the former ECW wrestlers, exchanging hard punches in a big brawl. The announcers question just what Nova is thinking bringing a ticking time bomb like New Jack into CSW. The Thrillers manage to isolate Nova, as the match gets into an actual tag team format.
The Finish: Jindrak gets Nova up and nails the Widow’s Peak Neckbreaker, and covers, but New Jack breaks it up. Jindrak doesn’t take kindly to that, and they start brawling. As they spill through the ropes, Jindrak tags O’Haire into the ring. On the outside, New Jack finds his trashcan and nails Jindrak over the head with it. New Jack climbs onto the apron with the trashcan in hand. Meanwhile, Nova attempts an irish whip on O’Haire, but O’Haire reverses, and Nova smacks right into New Jack, sending him flying off the apron. Nova falls to his knees and reaches through the ropes, attempting to reach to New Jack, who nailed the guardrail and trashcan. O’Haire takes advance, and rushes Nova, nailing the Shining Wizard to the back of his head. Nova bounces off the ropes and falls into the ring, where O’Haire covers for the 1, 2, 3.
Natural Born Thrillers defeat Nova & New Jack by pinfall in 6:14. (75/72/79)Post-Match: The Thrillers exit, still holding their tag team titles, and hold a 4 up with their fingers, referencing their challenge on Friday night in the 4-way elimination match. New Jack rolls into the ring over the fallen Nova. He tries reviving him, and eventually does after some hard slap. They appear to be arguing, with New Jack placing the blame on Nova. New Jack can faintly be heard. “You call me up, and bring me here for this s***? So you can play King F***-up somemore?” Nova looks like he is apologizing. It looks like New Jack it itching his boot, or maybe pulling something out. Sonofabitch! He just pulled a fork out of his boot and stabbed Nova right in the head with it. Nova is down, and is bleeding. New Jack walks out of the arena to massive boos from the CSW crowd, who was just cheering him on minutes ago.
Petey Williams w/Trish Stratus v CIMA The announcers tell us that CIMA specifically asked for this match, after Petey Williams last eliminated him last week by using a low blow on the top rope before dumping him. The referee calls for the bell, and both men mesh very well together, making for a great match. Petey continuously tries for the Canadian Destroyer, but CIMA is always one step ahead of him with a reversal and hard kick or strike to the face.
The Finish: Both competitors end up in the same precarious position as last week, with CIMA placing Petey on the top rope, and attempting a superplex. Petey battles out and pushes CIMA to the mat, but he rolls through and charges right back at Petey. Petey hits a hard kick right to the chest as CIMA charges, stunning him, and doubling him over. Petey then leaps off the middle rope, right into the Canadian Destroyer position, and with a quick hop off of the mat, nails the devastating finisher for the 3 count.
Petey Williams defeats CIMA by pinfall in 8:03. (74/55/92)Post-Match: Trish Stratus rolls into the ring, telling Petey that it isn’t over. Petey picks up CIMA and again nails the Canadian Destroyer. He then picks CIMA up and tosses him from the ring. Trish Stratus grabs a microphone:
In-Ring Segment: Bring it On Trish:
Ladies and Gentlemen, your winner of the match, and the man who will head to Redemption this Friday night to become the first ever Kansas City Border Champion....might I also add he possesses the most devastating finishing maneuver in wrestling today, the Canadian Destroyer...and might I also add that he destroyed this Canadian just last night, if you know what I mean....he is PETEY WILLIAMS!!! Petey:
Thanks baby. 2 weeks ago, I proved I was the most dominant Canadian in CSW, when I disposed of the pieces of trash that were Scott D’Amore and Johnny Devine. Last week, I won the Battlebowl Battle Royal, and earned my shot at the CSW Kansas City Border Title on Friday, last eliminated that nothing CIMA that you see there at ringside. This week, I granted him the chance to face me once again in the ring, and he couldn’t get the job done, proving that I am better than any Japanese superstar the NWA can offer up as well. And on Friday, regardless of who wins that Battle Royal tonight, I prove my Canadian supremacy over American as well. Kid Kash, Alex Shelley, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Mike Sanders, Jimmy Yang, Ken Shamrock, and Brent Albright. All a bunch of worthless Americans. Good luck tonight boys, because the winner will get to say he lost to the best KC Border Champion of all time....Petey Williams. Petey drops the mic and plants a long kiss on Trish Stratus before leaving the ringside area. Trish taunts the guys at ringside, but gives them nothing, heading to the back with her man.
(84)Tazz:
Petey Williams seems like a young man on a mission. And with a girl like Trish at his side, there is no telling how far he can go. The ultimate question is which of those 8 men that he named will he be facing on Friday night? I can’t wait till later tonight. Samoa Joe v X-pac What a huge marquee matchup signed by CSW officials here tonight. Joe of course has his grudge match with Masato Tanaka on Friday, where Chairs are Legal, and X-pac will attempt to finally end his problem with Alex Shelley in a 2 out of 3 falls match. X-pac and Joe go face to face in the ring, and both men seem intense and intent on picking up the ring here tonight. Joe controls most of the first part of the matchup, dominating X-pac with his rare blend of speed and power. Joe nails a powerslam for a near fall. The crowd is split 50/50 in this one, both cheering and booing equally for both men. X-pac finally takes control after “inadvertently” hitting the referee with a spinning heel kick when he tried to hit Joe. X-pac nails a low blow, and heads to the top rope. But here’s
Alex Shelley!!! Shelley comes through the crowd and sweeps X-pac’s legs while he is on the top, crotching him. The crowd explodes as Shelley quickly disappears back into the crowd. Joe stands up, sees X-pac on the top, and the crowd explodes. Joe walks over, grabs X-pac, and nails the Musclebuster for the 3 count!
Samoa Joe defeats X-pac by pinfall in 8:02. (75/73/77) In-Ring Segment: Pushed Too Far Before Joe can even celebrate his win,
Masato Tanaka is walking down the entranceway clapping for a job well done. Joe doesn’t look pleased, and Tanaka slides into the ring. He walks right up to Joe and offers his hand, and seems to say “Good Luck”. Joe looks down at it. Tanaka again reiterates the hand, and Joe seems to be building in frustration. Joe turns to talk away as Tanaka seems to be asking the crowd “why”, but before he can say much, Joe levels him with a huge one-leg dropkick to the face. He grabs the Kokina Clutch on Tanaka, but Tanaka wisely slides himself through the ropes, sending both men crashing to the floor, with Tanaka taking the worst of it. Joe gets to his feet and whips Tanaka into the barricade at ringside. Joe picks up a chair and holds it high in the air as the crowd applauds. Joe crashes the chair down on Tanaka’s head, and then sets it up in the corner of the ringside barricade. He sets the battered Tanaka on the chair as the crowd being chanting “Ole’ Ole’ Ole’ Ole’”. Joe gets a running start, and levels Tanaka with the Ole’ kick, leaving him fallen in the corner of the arena. Joe pulls the chair out from under Tanaka, tossing him to the floor. Joe walks out of the arena with the chair in hand.
(79) Styles:
So Alex Shelley gets the last laugh on X-pac heading to Redemption, and I think Samoa Joe just showed Masato Tanaka what he thinks of his handshake. These matches could both EXPLODE on Friday night. BattleBowl Battle Royal – Kid Kash v Alex Shelley v Shelton Benjamin v Charlie Haas v Mike Sanders v Jimmy Yang v Ken Shamrock v Brent Albright All 8 men make their individual entrances to the ring. Alex Shelley never makes it to the ring though. As he comes out, he is attacked out of nowhere by
X-pac. The two actually spill over the guardrail and into the crowd as the standers by go crazy. Shelley crushes a soda from a fan over the head of X-pac as they brawl back into the darkness next to the set. The action begins in the ring as the referees huddle on the outside and have the ring announcer announce that Alex Shelley has been eliminated.
ELIMINATED – Alex Shelley (via countout at :15)The action is fast and furious in the ring, with every man truly going after every man. Haas & Benjamin even lock horns a few times, however, Brent Albright and Ken Shamrock seem to have a mutual understanding and are going after Mike Sanders. Jimmy Yang & Kid Kash have a nice wrestling sequence in the middle of the ring, until Kid Kash surprises Charlie Haas from behind with a dropkick, almost eliminating him. Kash charges at Haas, who ducks and nails Kash with a huge backbodydrop all the way to the floor.
ELIMINATED – Kid Kash (via Charlie Haas at 3:14)Jimmy Yang diverted his attention to Brent Albright now, and has him teetering on the top rope in the corner. Yang nails a hard kick, elevating Albright in the air. Shamrock and Sanders are going at it, while Benjamin and Haas have a nice exchange in the center of the ring, ending with a bulldog by Haas. Yang climbs to the middle rope for leverage on Albright, but can’t pry him over the top. In desperation Albright grabs Yang’s arm and snaps it over the top rope, stunning him. Albright pulls himself off the ropes, and grabs Jimmy Yang and tosses him to the floor.
ELIMINATED – Jimmy Yang (via Brent Albright at 6:57)Before Albright can even recoup, Mike Sanders is on his back, trying to toss him. Albright elbows away as the former World’s Greatest Tag Team continues taking it to each other. Shamrock pulls Sanders away, but Sanders nails a hard superkick to Shamrock, stunning him. Sanders grabs Albright, and nails an inverted lungblower to Albright’s chest, stunning him, leaving him leaning against the ropes. Sanders measures up Albright to clothesline him over, but Shamrock grabs him from behind for a suplex. Sanders does a standing switch, and quickly lifts Shamrock over the rope to eliminate him.
ELIMINATED – Ken Shamrock (via Mike Sanders at 7:03)As Sanders looks down on Shamrock, Albright quickly rushes him from behind to attempt to eliminate him. He dumps him over the top, but Sanders lands on the apron. Sanders climbs back in and grabs Albright for another lungblower. This time Albright is ready for him, and grabs his arm, dropping to the mat with the crowbar. Albright taps out, but it is to no avail. Albright releases, and catches Benjamin and Haas sleeping in the corner in a headlock spot. Albright lifts them both up and ALMOST dumps them, but Sanders pulls Albright away with his good arm. Sanders grabs Albright for a suplex, but Albright reverses, and send Sanders flying over the top to the outside.
ELIMINATED – Mike Sanders (via Brent Albright at 8:59)Sanders quickly gets to his feet and grabs hold of Albright’s arm before he can go back to the ring. Haas & Benjamin are now recovered from almost being dumped, and look at each other. A quick glance is all it takes, as they rush Albright and send him flying to the outside.
ELIMINATED – Brent Albright (via Haas & Benjamin at 9:05)Albright and Sanders are tussling on the floor, and have to be separated by a crew of officials at ringside. Meanwhile, in the ring, Haas & Benjamin survey the situation, realizing they’re the only two left. They shake hands and put go on to put on a 5 minute wrestling exhibition, trading near-eliminations and impressive spots.
The Finish: Shelton tries to nail a T-Bone suplex on Haas, but Haas moves his arm, and hits an Exploder, rattling Benjamin hard. Haas goes for a cover by instinct, before realizing it doesn’t matter. He picks up Benjamin and tries lifting him over the top rope. He pounds away at Benjamin’s back, but he just won’t go. Haas changes his gameplan, and instead rocks Benjamin with a high roundhouse kick, sending him over the top. But Benjamin hangs onto the top rope. Haas is walking away like he has won it. Benjamin pulls himself onto the apron, and is poised. Benjamin springs to the top rope, but in one quick move, Haas turns and nails a standing dropkick right to the head of Benjamin, sending him off the rope and crashing into the announce table at ringside. Charlie Haas has won!
ELIMINATED – Shelton Benjamin (via Charlie Haas at 14:12)Charlie Haas wins the BattleBowl Battle Royal in 14:12 and advances to Redemption to face Petey Williams for the Kansas City Border Championship (66/69/61)Post-Match: Haas soaks in the moment for just a few seconds before looking down at Benjamin at ringside. Benjamin pulls himself up and slides into the ring, getting in Haas’ face. Benjamin smiles and says “you got this one”, and extends his hand. Haas accepts his handshake as the two embrace.
Styles:
Haas is heading to Redemption! What an encounter between these two in the final minutes of this match. It truly could have gone either way. And great sportsmanship by the two good friends. Wow. Haas v Petey Williams for the KC Border Title!!! Main Event: Triple H & Steve Corino v Jeff Jarrett & Brock LesnarTriple H makes his way out first, followed by Steve Corino, who tries to talk strategy with Triple H. Triple H reluctantly gives in as they being to talk a bit in the corner. Next out is the CSW Champion, Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett stands in the ring, looking directly at Triple H. The music of Brock Lesnar hits, and Corino immediately looks uneasy. Lesnar walks out, and intensely looks into the ring, staring a hole right into Corino. Before Lesnar even gets to the ring, Corino spears Jarrett and start nailing him with punches. The ref rings the bell, and we’re underway. Lesnar stands on the apron as Corino tries to keep Jarrett grounded, so he won’t be able to tag in his partner. Corino works a headlock, but the champ reverses, and then rolls away from Corino, tagging in his tag team partner, Brock Lesnar. Corino cowers back into the corner and tags Triple H. Triple H looks down at Corino, shaking his head, and steps into the ring directly across from Lesnar. The two men go toe to toe, exchanging shoulder blocks in a nice sequence.
The Finish: Jarrett is back in, and Corino gets in against him again. Jarrett suddenly tags in Lesnar, while Triple h is off the apron taking a breather. Corino has no choice now. Corino walks up to Lesnar with his hand out, and tries reasoning with him. Lesnar is emotionless, and suddenly grabs Corino around the throat. Corino’s eyes bug out, as Lesnar lifts him into a gorilla press slam. Corino shakes his body around until he gets free, dropping behind Lesnar. Corino immediately hops through the ropes and takes off, but Lesnar is hot on his trail again. As the two run down the entranceway, Triple H steps into the ring. He stares a hole into Jarrett, who also gets in the ring. The two men staredown and go at it, exchanging punches as the crowd explodes. The finish finally comes when Jarrett sets Triple H up for a German Suplex. Triple H reaches into his tights and produces a pair of brass knuckles. Jarrett takes him back with the suplex, and bridges, but Triple H swings his right hand under himself as the ref counts to two. He just knocked Jarrett out, right in the temple! Triple H quickly hides the brass knuckles, and picks Jarrett’s limp body up and nails the Pedigree. He rolls on top of Jarrett as the confused official counts 1....2....3!
Triple H & Corino defeat Jarrett & Lesnar by pinfall in 11:02. (84/86/81)Post-Match: The referee raises Triple H’s hand, but Triple H pushes him away and heads for the timekeepers table where he retrieves the CSW Championship Belt. He rolls into the ring, and stand over Jeff Jarrett, holding the CSW Title Belt high in the air as the show goes off the air.
