Real F'n Show - June 6, 2006 01:39 PM (GMT)
WWE versus ECW: Head to Head is Wednesday at 9/8 central. A 20-man WWE versus ECW battle royal was already announced, and just announced on WWE.com:
Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van Dam
Sabu vs. John Cena
Should be a fun show.
whitemilesdavis - June 6, 2006 01:52 PM (GMT)
Sabu blowing the chair spot last night kinda sucked, huh?

WOW, that actually sounds promising......
yeah, I'm shocked.

I saw it coming, that table was way too far away. What made it worse was them showing like 5 replays of it.
Real F'n Show - June 6, 2006 04:20 PM (GMT)
Raw really went downhill quickly after the ECW stuff I thought. I didn't even bother watching the "main event" but I'm guessing Trips made a drugged up Shane kiss his dad's own ass and Vince didn't know the difference?
whitemilesdavis - June 6, 2006 04:49 PM (GMT)
Nope. Pedigreed Vince after Shane passed out. No ass-kissing went down.
prof_plague - June 6, 2006 06:25 PM (GMT)
Never been a mark for Sabu. He can Fu'ed five times and get pinned in a squash match by Cena.
prof_plague - June 6, 2006 06:37 PM (GMT)
Real F'n Show - June 6, 2006 08:30 PM (GMT)
He returned on Raw and RKO'ed Angle, then accepted his challenge for a match at ONS.

Mad Dog - June 6, 2006 09:37 PM (GMT)
We need Scrooge to come back and dress him up like a woman so he can accuse Randy Orton of sexual harassment and get him suspended again.
dynamite kido - June 6, 2006 09:52 PM (GMT)
Fuck that. I'd rather see Orton than 85% of their roster.
Yeah, I fuckin said it.
jamiegeist - June 6, 2006 10:38 PM (GMT)
Yeah, seeing Orton was nice actually. I love his swagger. I don't love him accepted the challenge, as we now have a ECW One Night Stand match with no roots in ECW. I don't really like that shit, but hopefully Angle wrestles a circle around him to put over the whole ECW = wrestling thing.
Oh, and Raw sucked a COCK. The best part was Charlie Haas killing Lillian Garcia, which hopefully means she takes time off, and gets fired.
jamiegeist - June 6, 2006 10:50 PM (GMT)
So, turns out Lillian is fine, but Beth Phoenix broke her fucking jaw. So much for that angle. At least now it won't be disapointing when they never tell us the "history" between her and Mickie.
Also, Colt Cabana wrestled Trevor Murdoch on Heat, so be sure to check that out.
dynamite kido - June 7, 2006 03:34 AM (GMT)
Dude, I watched the Lillian thing about 500 times. I love the fact that Haas runs in the ring like Warrior and now facially somewhat resembles Macho Man.
Apparently he has their brain power as well.
jamiegeist - June 7, 2006 05:24 AM (GMT)
I know, it was so enjoyable to watch over and over. He has no clue he even did it, she is screaming like a bitch, and he finally notices something isn't right.
Then the best part, Johnny Nitro has a chinlock on and screams "Who cares about Lillian!!!".
prof_plague - June 7, 2006 05:39 AM (GMT)
Does Colt have a development contract? And Beth Phoenix is injured already?
:cries again:
jamiegeist - June 7, 2006 05:46 AM (GMT)
I don't think Colt is a developmental, no. But I did just see that he wrestle Albright on Velocity, which I'll definitely be checking out.
prof_plague - June 7, 2006 06:01 AM (GMT)
he's been doing a lot of jobs in the past year, that's why I was wondering.

That shit was fucking golden. I watched that part about 20 times in a row too because me and my buddy thought it was funnier than all hell.
jamiegeist - June 7, 2006 04:52 PM (GMT)
I just watched Smackdown too. It was actually okay in parts this time. The Main Event stuff was good, and I enjoyed Booker for the first time in a long time. His little stable with Finlay & Regal has SERIOUS potential to be kickass.
prof_plague - June 7, 2006 05:35 PM (GMT)
Did they anounce the new GM on Raw?

They did that last week. It's Coach. YAY.
whitemilesdavis - June 7, 2006 07:33 PM (GMT)
Oh, he's not the GM. He's the Assisstant. Or something.

Great.
That's fucking awful. How come creative has a hard time coming up with shit for EVERYONE except Coach?
prof_plague - June 8, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
That was a decent battle royal. I was confused with the selelction with the last people reamining. I was trying to guess which one was going to turn; and, which one was the least likely, and ergo, the one who would turn. And thus, Big Show.
jamiegeist - June 8, 2006 05:22 AM (GMT)
Aside from Big Show joining ECW (maybe they needed a token giant for run ins, like Big Sal and Mable) that was the most entertaining WWE since 97. I'm not kidding at all.
I could listen to Tazz, Lawler, and Styles shoot on each other all fucking night long.
RVD looked like RVD for the first time since 2001, both in ring and out of ring. He looked like he had his confidence back, changed up his fuckin moveset. God, it was wonderful.
I don't even anything else, other than Edge almost dying, and Lita getting eaten out by Dreamer, and Funk busting Foley hardway, followed by a BRILLIANT little Foley promo. He did the hard sell right there.
As they went to break after that fiasco, I was thinking "Why would I order ONS, when I just got it all for free", but then Foley actually got me thinking about ordering it again, something I had already decided I wouldn't do. Now I'm on the fence again.
Sabu is the most uncomfortable wrestler to watch in the ring. I never have a clue where he is going next, and I can't imagine what it is like to be in the ring with him. Kudos for Cena for not bitching about on anything (other than the chair throws), and thank god Sabu didn't tap to that fuckin STF.
Mad Dog - June 8, 2006 02:50 PM (GMT)
The whole GM concept with the brands is getting really tired.
jamiegeist - June 8, 2006 04:57 PM (GMT)
Goddam right it is. I think that is most of what I hate about WWE today: the figurehead.
It is just so tired, played out, and thus really unoriginal when they do the same booking setup for EVERYTHING.

Oh god, I take a vacation from watching wrasslin' for a bit and this is what happens.
Mad Dog - June 8, 2006 05:53 PM (GMT)
So when's the last time the WWF was without an authortiy figure? Pre-Attitude?
jamiegeist - June 8, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
Shit, even less than "pre-attitude". We had Gorilla Monsoon and Roddy Piper around Mania 12. I would say just before that.
I don't consider Jack Tunney to be a "authority figure". To me, he was the perfect example of how to do that kind of thing. You have a face to put with "decisions", but you don't need someone coming out and actually being on screen and booking matches every week.
I just think it is lazy, and they can't think of more creative ways to book, or be bothered to just tell us "This match has been signed". I mean, remember old Wrestlemanias, and even other PPVS? It was just like, Warlord v British Bulldog. No reason, just sign the match, and each man wants to win for the "bigger payday". I miss all that jazz.
jamiegeist - June 8, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
On wwe.com they have quite a few bonus videos from last night. A great one from the brawl that ended the show, after the cameras went off the air. Cena got ahold of a kendo stick and kicked the shit out of everyone, and then bashed himself in the head with it, and drew a little blood. It definitely put over his "killer instinct" kind of thing for this Sunday, and would've been nice if it made it on the show.
Mad Dog - June 8, 2006 08:49 PM (GMT)
Tunney and Monsoon I don't count because you saw them maybe once a month and it was only for announcements. They weren't characters.
jamiegeist - June 9, 2006 03:24 AM (GMT)
I dont know, Monsoon was involved in a pretty big angle (Vader) that would pretty much qualify him as an on-air character.
Of course, the same could be said for Tunney's involvement in the Flair-Hogan thing.
But I think around 96 is the most acceptable answer to the original question.
prof_plague - June 9, 2006 04:42 AM (GMT)
Once Monsoon was out on "injury" Roddy Piper came-in. It was Piper who made Hart/Michaels a one hour Iron Man match (kay fabe) and was involved with a storyline with Goldust (because Hall wasn't comfortable with it).
Real F'n Show - June 13, 2006 03:14 AM (GMT)
Wow, I watched an entire Raw tonight for the first time in forever. No complaints either, the whole show kept me interested throughout. Vengeance is actually looking like a really good card right now, although I was kind of hoping they'd keep the ECW guys off of it.
dynamite kido - June 13, 2006 12:48 PM (GMT)
WOW. I'm shocked and stunned. I actually ENJOYED RAW last night.
prof_plague - June 13, 2006 04:59 PM (GMT)
And I missed it yet again, because I figured I'd be nice and stay and work later.
