Title: I Laugh At The Knicks
Mad Dog - May 24, 2006 10:07 PM (GMT)
 at them getting the second overall pick and then having to surrender it to Chicago so they could get Curry. And I'll be laughing next year when it happens again.
Scrooge McSuck - May 24, 2006 10:31 PM (GMT)
I've been laughing ever since the Knicks, masters of showing loyalty, traded Patrick Ewing for nothing because he wanted a, GASP, 2 year contract!
Mad Dog - May 24, 2006 10:41 PM (GMT)
I was just looking at their roster and had a good laugh. I didn't even know that Penny Hardaway was still in the league.
S.T. Strickler - May 24, 2006 10:56 PM (GMT)
And it's even sadder when the Orlando Magic didn't even want him back. Just after being traded for Steve Francis, Orlando releases poor Penny.
Scrooge McSuck - May 24, 2006 11:02 PM (GMT)
Poor Penny... back in the mid 90's, he was a big deal. Then he became a bench-warmer for the Knicks and released by the fucking Orlando Magic.
I don't even recognize most of the Knicks roster. Back in the late 90's, I remembered everyone. Ewing, Sprewell, Johnson, Camby, Thomas, Houston, Ward, Childs, Dudley (the token white), Brunson, and... 2 other guys.
S.T. Strickler - May 24, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
How can you name Knicks players and forget John Starks?
Mad Dog - May 24, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
Penny only played over 70 games 5 times in his career.
Scrooge McSuck - May 24, 2006 11:11 PM (GMT)
I wasn't sure when Starks was released/traded... but I still can't believe I forgot him. The Knicks 6th man!
Mad Dog - May 24, 2006 11:13 PM (GMT)
Who is it on the Knicks that has such a bad back that no one will take his contract?
Scrooge McSuck - May 24, 2006 11:17 PM (GMT)
Marbury? No one can carry around that much ego and money on their back without being in serious pain. :D
Mad Dog - May 24, 2006 11:22 PM (GMT)
It's going to be a real treat if Isiah Thomas coaches next year. They'll be 9-73 with him at the helm.
Scrooge McSuck - May 24, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
Only 9-73? I figured they would win at least 12.
My God, I never thought I'd see the day when the Knicks were this terrible. The Curse of Patrick Ewing lives until he returns to where he belongs!
And no one better make a racial joke.
dynamite kido - May 24, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
Yeah, pretty sad how everything has turned out for them. But upper management has squandered them into being the laughing stock of the league. I even watched as many Knick games I could this past year and they were just awful, but Larry Brown needs some of the blame here too. He wanted Jalen Rose and Francis only to sit them when they got there. It's laughable how bad things have gotten with the Knicks organization.
Mad Dog - June 23, 2006 08:30 PM (GMT)
And Brown gets fired so Thomas can coach. Man, just wait till this team starts underachieving with Thomas as their coach.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - June 23, 2006 09:26 PM (GMT)
Should be a blast to watch.
dynamite kido - June 24, 2006 12:37 AM (GMT)
I'm just waiting for them to completely gut the franchise alltogether.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - June 24, 2006 01:09 AM (GMT)
That won't take much, at this point. Who do they have left to gut?
Scrooge McSuck - July 27, 2006 01:26 PM (GMT)
Ahem... the Knicks still suck.
