I knew the Kitty Pride one...
eStragand - May 23, 2006 05:32 PM (GMT)
8/8 on the ones you answered.
MODAM had another name, originally. When you find out what it was, you'll know why it was changed to MODAM. So there's still a half-question to be answered.
Still left:
8-- Most people don't believe that Howard the Duck is a duck. Rather, they think he is...
This answer is REALLY stupid.
10-- What early (and short-lived) costume modification did Daredevil add to hide his civilian clothes?
From the old yellow costume days. Lasted all of maybe four issues.

Close... but fanny packs weren't around in the 60's :)
The Last Free Voice - May 23, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
Backpack, then?
(Wild guesses. I wasn't even around until 88...)
eStragand - May 23, 2006 05:54 PM (GMT)
Yeah. It was a cutesy little backpack that looked like a brown hood. They had a diagram of it, showing where he puts his shoes, etc. It was ripped off in a fight and never used again. DD even mentioned that it was a somewhat foolish idea.

I GOT ONE~!!!!!!!! ::drops baloons from the sky::
Okay, I'll shut up. I get it.

I must say that Kitty Pryde had some awful choices on clothes until she settled on the Shadowcat persona. It would've been an improvement if Xavier had forced her to join the New Mutants and wear the generic uniform.
eStragand - May 23, 2006 08:03 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I think some of that was deliberate, though. To show her as a happy-go-lucky kid. Around #150 or so, she had striped leg warmers, a pointy mask and roller skates! The green-ish Sprite costume made her look like... well, a can of SPRITE. It also looked like a rip-off of Gamora, from Warlock.
She shot up in hotness when she became Shadowcat. But she seems to have regressed to about 15 years old and doesn't wear that costume, anymore.
Mad Dog - May 23, 2006 08:12 PM (GMT)
So how old is Pryde now. 20ish? Or is she still late teens?
I think Wasp takes the cake for ugly outfits.
I'm surprised Iron Man has changed as much as he has and never had a bad set of armor. Though the red and silver armor of the 80s will always be my favorite.

Wonder Man takes the cake for awful costumes. His 70's leisure suit was bad, but in the first two years of West Coast Avengers he some terrible costumes. Check out the one where he had his jetpack on his shoulders.
Iron Man had some awful re-designs in the mid-90's. During "Timeslide" and "the Crossing". Right after he ditched the mouth-less techno-look from the cartoon.

The Heroes Reborn re-design was....weird. Never understood those two rifle-butts he had on his back. My favorite's the 1998 "Heroes Return" suit. With the sharp, pointy facemask and the glowing highlights. First three years of "Avengers Vol.3", basically.

Did anyone else like the Iron Man from House of M?
Mad Dog - May 23, 2006 08:52 PM (GMT)
I kind of zoned out on Iron Man for a few years until the restart. I liked the late 80s suit as well.

Ugh..that was the House of M Iron Man? Was he Autobot or Decepticon?
Mad Dog - May 24, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
Iron Man shouldn't have guns or cannons. It just doesn't look right and it makes him look like an anime robot. He looks like a friggin Gundam in that picture.
Big F'N Swigg - May 24, 2006 11:30 PM (GMT)
If I recall, the House of M Tony Stark had something to do with the sentinels.....
But I do know that he used that armor in a competition of sorts.....

Secrets...REVEALED!!
8-- Most people don't believe that Howard the Duck is a duck. Rather, they think he is...
A small person in a duck costume.
Toldja' it was stupid!
Oh, and MODAM was actually called SODAM in her first appearances. You can guess why they changed it.
