Juvy: No one's going to be shaving the hair of the Juice. Have a fun night in the hospital.

Styles: Wow what a poor sport Juventud Guerrera is. He cleanly lost that match and he refused to honor the stipulations to the match. Hopefully the Latin Lover isn't too seriously injured by that cheap shot. Join us tomorrow night as the second round of the Mexican National Title Tournament takes place. And joins us next week for more high impact lucha libre action.

Scrooge McSuck - May 17, 2006 10:55 PM (GMT)
WOO! I think I called that too, although I'm just assuming that's what the real Juvy would do. :D

Hey everybody, Dave Meltzer here for NWAJ.com and NWA Japan.  I would like to invite everyone to check out this weeks Ichiban TV as it will be one of the best wrestling TV shows that have ever aired.  We will see FOUR huge NWA Japan Heavyweight title tournament matches.  Also watch to see the crowning of a new champion.  KENTA will face off against his tag team partner Naomichi Marufuji.  How will Jushin Liger react to this as he was attacked by KENTA during his match with Marufuji AND by both men backstage later in the evening.  I should have an update either later today or tomorrow about the matches that will occur from the Heavyweight title tournament as well.

The NWA Japan Competition committee has been REALLY busy over the course of the week as there were plenty of unhonorable actions on last weeks show.  They have decided on NOT suspending Kenta Kobashi for his actions last week as he's only defending himself in the constant attacks of Genichiro Tenryu and his band of thugs.  Also, the higher ups here in NWA Japan are not thrilled with the actions and comments recently of Masahiro Chono.  Actions like this will NOT be tolerated and the committee is fully prepared to dish out ANY disiplinary action against Chono if these actions continue.

There has been another announcement from the committee this week about the NWA Heavyweight title tournament. Here is the exact release that was given to all of the competitiors of NWA Japan.......

QUOTE

"To all members of the NWA Japan competitive roster.  We will be holding our very first Heavyweight title tournament to crown a champion.  We want to uphold honor and respect in the wrestling world as well as with our athletes.  We look at our wrestlers as the greatest in the world and we here in NWA Japan hold our sport VERY high in standards.  Thus, we here of the NWA Japan competiton committee have decided that ANY and all interference in the tournament matches will result in termination for any person/persons who do so.  We here at NWA Japan are EXTREMELY serious about this and there will be no compassion to all parties involved.  Also because of the decision to NOT suspend Kenta Kobashi for committing this same act last week on our show, we also want to say that this will NOT be a common occurance.  To Mr. Kobashi or ANY other members of our organization.  Thank you for your time and thank you for making NWA Japan the greatest wrestling organization in the world today.

NEW Saturday Night
June 3rd 2006

-The show opens with Ernie Rowe and Professor Plague sitting in a studio.

Rowe: NEW fans, this week we take a look back at the historical first month of NEW action.

Plague: That's right, folks, get out your blank tapes or dvd-r's, the next 60 minutes are must-have footage.

Rowe: Let's start by looking back at the very first episode of NEW Saturday Night, where Team 3-D did battle with the monstrous team of Big Show and Kane.

Kane And Big Show vs Team 3D
May 6th 2006

Kane and Big Show are playing the role of wacky tag team partners who hate each other. Team 3D dominates in the early going, as they isolate Big Show by targeting his knee. Show is at the point where he can’t put any weight on his left knee. There is a commercial break during a Brother Devon leg lock spot. After the break, Big Show catches both members of Team 3D and goes for a double chokeslam, but his knee gives out. Luckily, Show manages to fall into Kane’s corner and makes the tag. Kane cleans house on Team 3D and hits a mean chokeslam on Brother Ray for the win at 12:00. After the match, Kane mocks Big Show over his injury. Team 3D are pissed off and set up a table in the ring. Kane stands back and lets them put Big Show through the table with the 3D!

Winners: Big Show and Kane, **3/4. 83/85/79

Rowe: Not only was this the main event of the first edition of NEW Saturday Night, but it started Kane's dominance over NEW. Kane is the only undefeated member of the NEW roster!

Plague: On that same night, The Rock made his return to pro wrestling, and he was encountered by a most unlikely challenger.

In-ring segment
May 6th 2006

“If you SMEEEEEEEEEELL… what the ROCK… is COOKING” blares over the speakers and The Rock is in the house! Rock takes a microphone and addresses the crowd.

Rock: Finally… the Rock HAS COME to… Hooksett. A lot of people have come up to The Rock and asked “Rock, why have you come back to wrestling? What happened to Hollywood?” The truth is, The Rock has had a lot of fun in Hollywood, The Rock has made a lot of friends, and The Rock has made his fortunes. But Hollywood and The Rock were not a perfect fit. When the Rock is in the studio, The Rock cannot hear the cheers of the millions (and millions) of The Rock’s fans. Unlike that monkey-loving sonovabitch Chris Jericho, The Rock isn’t here for money. The Rock is here because The Rock loves entertaining his fans. The Rock also… (The Rock is cut off by some unfamiliar music. Sonny Siaki appears on the stage, holding a microphone).

Siaki: You know something, Rock, why don’t you spare us your crap. You come out here and badmouth Chris Jericho as if you’re better than him. We all know why you’re here, Rock. You are here because your movies suck and Hollywood doesn’t want you anymore!

Rock: Who in the blue hell are you?

Siaki: My name is Sonny Sia…

The Rock: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS! You say Hollywood doesn’t want The Rock? You say Chris Jericho is better than The Rock? The Rock says you can take your outlandish theories, your imaginative rumors, and shove them straight up your candy ass! Let The Rock tell you one thing, Sonny boy, The Rock may have been away from the ring for a good long while, but the Rock can still kick your rudy-poo monkey ass all the way from Manchester to Seattle and not break a sweat. So in closing, all The Rock has to say is… just bring it.

Sonny Siaki charges the ring but quickly suffers a rock bottom. The Rock poses over the fallen Sonny Siaki and takes the microphone one last time.

The Rock: If you smell… what the Rock… is cooking. (83%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Rowe: The result was this big time match the next week on Saturday Night.

The Rock vs Sonny Siaki
May 13th 2006

The Rock comes out to a huge ovation and catches Sonny Siaki off guard. Rock fires way with some lightning fast punches, and knocks Siaki silly. Siaki goes to ringside to recover and Rock pursues him, but Siaki whips Rock into the ring post. Rock is busted open! Siaki then pummels The Rock with some hard strikes to the open wound on The Rock’s forehead. Siaki goes for the Siakalypse, but The Rock reverses the move. Rock hits the Rock Bottom and pins Sonny Siaki at 9:12!

Winner: The Rock, **1/4 (78/80/75)

Next we see a hype video for Foley vs. Flair. It features Foley and Flair encountering each other on the first show, their brawl from the second show, Foley sticking Mr. Socko down Flair's throat, and finally Flair beating Foley in the handicap match from last week.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rowe: NEW is jam packed with some of the biggest stars in wrestling history. From The Rock to Ric Flair to Mick Foley to Chris Jericho, NEW has something for everyone!

Plague: But no debut was more highly anticipated than that of The Undertaker.

Rowe: That's right, The Undertaker rode in on his prized motorcycle in all his glory, as we witnessed the return of the biker Undertaker!

The Undertaker vs Gregory Helms
May 20th 2006

Gregory Helms is the first to the ring and he looks more nervous than he let on earlier. Then the arena goes dark… and the terrifying sound of a gong travels through the arena… and then…. “Dead Man Walking.” The lights come back on, strobe lights light up the arena, and the sound of a motorcycle can be heard. It’s the return of Biker Taker! The Undertaker rides into the arena to a monster pop. He quickly enters the ring and quickly tangles up with Helms. Undertaker hits all of his signature spots, including the old school rope walk, the legdrop on the apron, and even whips Helms into the steel steps at ringside. Helms in a daze, but manages to hit some offense of his own on Undertaker. Helms drops Taker with a dropkick and puts him in a sleeper. Undertaker fights out of it and hits the Last Ride on Helms for the win at 6:50!

Winner: The Undertaker, **1/4 (78/81/74)

Rowe: The Undertaker was dominant in his NEW debut.

Plague: But you have to give Gregory Helms a round of applause, he gave 'Taker a hell of a fight!

Rowe: Yes, and it has been confirmed that The Undertaker will be appearing at NEW River Rumble, June 25th at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire! The Undertaker just may well be competing for the NEW Championship, if he can continue advancing in the tournament.

Plague: That's right. Also confirmed for River Rumble is Team 3-D vs America's Most Wanted vs the Basham Brothers in a three-way match to crown the first ever NEW Tag Team Champions!

Rowe: That is cannot miss entertainment. Also, I need to take a moment to address something very important. Last week on NEW Saturday Night, we had this awkward situation:

In-ring segment
May 27th 2006

John Bradshaw Layfield comes out to the ring and he does not look pleased at all. He takes a microphone.

JBL: It has come to my attention that the man who beat me in the NEW Championship tournament, Steve Corino, has been traded out of NEW. It has also come to my attention that Corino ASKED to be traded out. Apparently, Corino feels that he is too good to be a part of NEW, and in all honesty he has every right to feel that way. I mean, NEW is definitely where the big boys play, but New England itself? Hell, New England sucks! This area is overrun by liberals, white trash, and is just plain boring in general. Every moment I spend in New England simply kills me! So in that regard, I wish Steve Corino the best of luck, even if its over in the central states, the only part of the U.S. I cannot stand more than New England. But on the other hand, Steve Corino, how dare you have the audacity to beat the wrestling God and then run out of town before I could get my rematch! And how dare you give up your spot in the NEW Championship tournament so damn easily! This brings me to why I am out here… (looks toward the commentator’s booth) Ernie Rowe! I am asking… no, I am DEMANDING that you give Corino’s spot in the tournament to me.

Rowe: Why should I, JBL? It would only cheapen the tournament to let someone coast through without even winning a damn match! You know I am pissed off at Corino more than anyone, for already tarnishing the glory of the tournament and for walking away at such a prestigious prize as the NEW Championship. So you know what I am going to do, JBL? You will compete in a second opening round match, one that will replace the one you had with Corino. It will take place right now, and it will be against the man who came to us from NWA:CSW in exchange for Corino. Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pride that I introduce you to the newest member of the NEW roster: Chris Sabin! (From here a clipped version of the Sabin/JBL match plays).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rowe: My point is that I am the president of NEW, but I also take great pleasure in calling the matches from ringside. JBL made me a part of a show and forced me to be a nonobjective announcer. I cannot allow this to happen, so I have gone out and hired someone to act as the "General Manager" of NEW. This man answers to me and me only, but I have told him that he is free to handle things the way he best sees fit, because I don't want to be dragged into the show anymore than I have to. Starting next week, the new GM of NEW will debut.

Plague: Who is it?

Rowe: You'll find out next week.

Plague: Damn you, Rowe. Anyways, our last match of the evening was the exciting three on two handicap match from last week's Saturday Night. It was a great match, if I do say so myself.

Rock N Sock Connection vs Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Sonny Siaki
May 27th 2006

Chris Jericho makes it clear in the very early going that he is not interested in teaming with Sonny Siaki. Jericho starts off against The Rock, and they lock up. Jericho dishes out some knife edge chops while Rock hits his signature punches. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Rock makes it to the ropes. Rock fights back and goes for the sharpshooter, but Jericho quickly tags in Ric Flair. Flair chops the life out of Rock, but Rock comes back with a spine buster. Foley is begging for a tag, so Rock obliges, but Flair quickly tags Jericho back in. Foley overpowers Jericho with his brawling and clotheslines him over the ropes. Foley backs Jericho into the steel steps, while Flair and Siaki double team The Rock in the ring. Foley runs back in for the save and helps Rock remove both Siaki and Flair from the ring. We head to a commercial at 5:05.

After the break, Foley and Jericho are going at it. Jericho hits a lionsault on Foley and goes for the cover, but The Rock breaks it up. Jericho makes it clear that he is avoiding tagging in Sonny Siaki, whom he has no confidence in. Flair is back in the ring, and doesn’t mind wrestling a hurt Foley. Flair drops some knees on Foley’s chest and goes for the figure four. The Rock breaks it up. Jericho charges the ring but Rock sends him flying over the ropes. Siaki then makes a blind tag to Flair and cleans house on Rock and Foley. Siaki hits the Siakalypse on Rock, but walks right into Mr. Socko and the mandible claw from Foley. Siaki is in big trouble, as Jericho storms back into the ring. The Rock cuts Jericho off again and they brawl into the audience, forgetting the match. In the ring, Foley has forced Siaki to pass out, and drags him to Flair so he can make a tag. Flair makes the reluctant tag and they tie up. It isn’t long before Flair accidentally clotheslines the referee. Foley and Flair are both exhausted and circle each other when suddenly… TOMMY DREAMER runs in with a kendo stick. Dreamer threatens to hit Flair with the stick, but instead nails Foley in the head with it! Foley goes down. Dreamer revives the referee, who is able to count Flair’s cover, giving him the win at 14:45!

Winners: Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Sonny Siaki, **3/4 (86/90/78)

Rowe: And there you have it! The first month of NEW was highly memorable, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the second month and beyond!

Plague: Its been a wild ride thus far, I too cannot wait to see what happens next.

Rowe: To the fans watching at home, see you next week! The unveiling of the NEW GM will be held, as well as the continuation of the NEW Championship tournament! This will include our big main event of the evening, as The Rock faces The Undertaker in a quarter final match!

Plague: Later, folks!

Rating: 2.19 (because I say so :P )

Joey Styles: Welcome to NWA Midwest Saturday Night from the Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. I'm Joey Styles, joined by Jimmy Bauer.

Jimmy Bauer: Joined by? More like "blessed by the presence of Jimmy Bauer."

Joey Styles: YEEEAAAHHH. Anyhow, we are just ONE night away from Summer Glory, and we've got quite a show.

Jimmy Bauer: I'd have to disagree, Joey. William Regal is not on the card tonight.

Joey Styles: Well, neither is Batista. Both men have been given the night off by the NEW NWA Midwest Commissioner.

Jimmy Bauer: I wonder who it could be?

Joey Styles: We'll find out tonight, as he, or she, will be making an appearance with an announcement about the NWA Midwestern Tag Team Championship.

Jimmy Bauer: Speaking of Tag Teams....

MATCH #1: Chair Swinging Freaks vs. The British Invasion

Nigel and Burchill make their way down first, with the Chair Swinging Freaks making their way down through the crowd to pick up a chair or two. Nigel and Burchill refuse to get in the ring until the Chair Swinging Freaks put the chairs away. Burchill blurts out "and take a bath!" The Freaks turn around and toss the chairs onto the mat, which give the Brits a chance to attack from behind. The Brits maintain control throughout the match with the "divide and conquer" technique. Balls plays face in peril, which does lead to some "Nigel doesn't want to let go of Balls" jokes. In the end, though, the Chair Swinging Freaks get the win after Axl clobbers both Nigel and Burchill while they try to get Balls in the "England Prevails." This leads to Balls covering Burchill while Axl throws Nigel out of the ring.

WINNERS: Chair Swinging Freaks (68/56/81)

Styles: What a way to start off the show...

::BAGPIPES PLAY::

Styles: OH MY GOD!!!

Bauer: What the hell????

RODDY PIPER makes his way down the entranceway as Nigel and Paul stumble up it. He tells them to wait, because they're gonna want to hear what he has to say. He climbs in the ring and grabs the microphone.

Rowdy Roddy Piper: Well, well. That was one hell of an interesting match, don'cha think? (the crowd applauds) Alright... You see... Well, let me get to the point. I spent the past week talking with the president of this here club, and we had what you can call a philosophical agreement on what we want from professional wrestling. What we had for dinner, though, didn't have the same agreement with me. But that's another story. What he decided, after the dinner, was that he wanted to have someone around who could... maintain the peace in NWA Midwest. Someone to.... keep order. So he's paying me to make the decisions and kick some ass to keep everyone here in line while he makes sure that there's still an NWA Midwest for me to make decisions and kick ass for.(crowd cheers again) I'm out here, though, because I've made my second decision. My first was to give Batista and Regal the night off to prepare for their match tomorrow. My second was to make a new match for Summer Glory. (crowd cheers again) That match is going to be a four way tag team match for the NWA Midwestern Tag Team Championships. (crowd cheers) In that match will be the British Invasion (boos) The Chair Swinging Freaks (cheers) Blackout (boos) and The Briscoe Brothers (cheers). Now, I'm going to go backstage, prop up my feet, drink a cold one, and watch some REAL wrestling. (81)

Styles: A four way tag team title match?

Bauer: I've got my money on the British Invasion

Styles: We've got a situation backstage... Apparently a cameraman was headed to the restroom and has run into a confrontation between Batista and Regal.

BACKSTAGE...

Batista and Regal are backstage yelling at each other. Batista is yelling something about cheap shots and Regal is yelling about Batista being "mad" and asking if he soiled his "nappy." Batista calls him a scumbag. Regal replies if he should get Batista's "dummy" and put Batista back in his "pram". (86)

Styles: How do you soil a nap?

Bauer: I don't think that's what you think it is, Joey.

MATCH #2: Terry Funk vs. Bobby Roode

Styles: The Funker may have his hands full here. Roode isn't the nicest of guys, having attacked Chad Collyer after a handshake on the May 13th Saturday Night.

Bauer: I'm putting my money on Roode, he's younger, faster, better looking and has the want.

Styles: Better looking???

Bauer: Shut up, Joey.

Funk pulls on the ropes to warm up. As Funk pulls, Roode takes advantage and rolls up Funk. Funk kicks out. Funk looks at Roode as if he's crazy. Roode shrugs and says "I had to try." Funk shakes his head. The two circle, and then lock up. Funk takes the lead. Roode takes advantage of Funks bad knees, but Funk stays a step ahead of Roode in spite of that. The match seems even, with Funks experience balancing out against Roode's heelishness. The tide turner comes, though, as Ken Kennedy crawls over the barrier and hands Roode a "foreign object." Kennedy then distracts the ref as Roode hits Funk with the object.

WINNER: Bobby Roode (65/63/67)

Afterward, the two beat on Funk until Raven comes down to ringside to help. Kennedy and Roode clear the ring, and then shake hands and walk up the entranceway. Raven grabs a mic.

Raven: You lowbred, supercilious pieces of trash. Have some respect for a true icon. (they scoff at Raven) If you don't have respect for Terry Funk, you don't have respect for me. So how about we BEAT the respect into you? Tomorrow night!

Styles: Raven calls out Kennedy & Roode

Kennedy and Roode tell Raven "You're on!"

Bauer: And it's a match! Raven doesn't know what he's getting into

Styles: Speaking of not knowing what they're getting into, we've got Bill Alfonso waiting backstage with some words for Benoit....

INTERVIEW....

Josh Matthews: Bill Alfonso, you asked me to meet you here. Do you have some words for Chris Benoit?

Alfonso: Matthews, it's been weeks since I interfered in that match. Weeks. You'd think Chris Benoit could forgive and forget. But what Benoit didn't know is that I've been preparing for this. I've been training the past two weeks. I've been working out, and I've been watching tapes of Chris Benoit matches. And after the naps those tapes gave me, I worked out again. So Chris Benoit, I DARE YOU to step into the ring with the new and improved Bill Alfonso. I DARE YOU. (69)

Joey Styles: What the hell? That's not what I'd say if I was facing Benoit.

Bauer: But you're not Alfonso.

Styles: Thank God.

MATCH #3: CM Punk vs. Chad Collyer

Styles: This match should be pretty good. Punk is a pretty good wrestler who thinks he's better than everyone....

Bauer: He's right.

Styles: (rolls eyes) and Chad Collyer is a student of Dean Malenko.

Collyer tries to start the match with some basic matwork, but Punk either breaks out of it or cheats his way out of it. Lots of thumbs to the eye, biting, and nose pulling. Punk takes advantage after throwing Collyer out of the ring. Punk shakes off the effects of Collyer's ring work and starts after Collyer with some mat work of his own. Good match that ends with Punk slapping on the Anaconda Vice after some shoulder work on Collyer.

WINNER: CM Punk (77/63/92)

Bauer: He is better than you, Joey.

Styles: Give me a break. We're gonna head backstage to check on Terry Funk with Josh Matthews.

BACKSTAGE:

Matthews: Joey, I'm back here in the medical room with Raven and Terry Funk, who seems to be in good shape...

A figure in a black getup attacks Raven from behind. He grabs the backboard from next to Funk's medical bed and hits Raven with it. He throws Raven over the gurney. The figure then stands in front of the camera and crosses his arms in the form of an X before leaving the room. (89)

Styles: Who the hell was that?

Bauer: Someone who wanted to take out the trash, apparently.

Match #4: Chris Benoit vs. Bill Alfonso

Styles: Well, it's time to take out the trash. Benoit requested this match after Alfonso blew his whistle in Benoit's ear two weeks ago, costing Benoit his match in the NWA Midwestern Championship Tournament.

Benoit charges Alfonso, who basically spends the entire match beating the stuffing out of Alfonso. It's a massacre that makes Hogan-Warrior look like a squash. But it does end. By DQ. Because Sabu comes out of the crowd. And he attacks Benoit. Of course. But he's focusing on Benoit's head. Specifically the ear that Fonzie blew the whistle in.

WINNER BY DQ: Benoit (72/82/49)

Styles: Is Benoit going to be OK????

Overall: 75

NWA Central States Wrestling presents....
CSW Cyclone Saturday Night

June 3, 2006
Announcers: Joey Styles & Tazz
Wyandotte County Fairgrounds. Kansas City, KS

Cyclone Saturday Night kicks off with a bang as Brent Albright makes his way to ringside to once again open up the show. Albright looks to be gaining confidence as he looks towards the entrance ramp to see Vampiro is his opponent this week. Vampiro's first singles match since coming to CSW, and it'll be in the Cyclone Spotlight. As each man got into the ring, Mike Sanders music kicked over the PA. He strutted out to the ring, walked right by, and headed for the commentary booth:

Sanders: Hello gentlemen. I thought I would go ahead and bring some class to the "Spotlight" match tonight, by bringing you one of the hottest, brightest shining stars in the CSW today....myself of course. It looks like Albright could have his hands full right here tonight!

Cyclone Spotlight: Brent Albright v Vampiro
Albright and Vampiro had a nice opening match with Albright working over Vampiro's left arm, and the crowd getting more and more into Albright every week. The finish: Albright nailed a single arm DDT on Vampiro, and just as he did, Mike Sanders stood up from the commentary position, and slid a steel chair into the ring. Albright looked down at the chair, and kicked it hard right back towards Sanders. It smacked Sanders right in the stomach, doubling him over. Vampiro had gotten to his feet, and took a swing at Albright, who grabbed his arm, and dropped into the Crowbar. Vampiro taps!

Albright defeats Vampiro by submission in 6:31 (67/60/75)
Post-Match: Albright slides out next to Sanders and pats him on the back, probably a lot harder than he really needed to. Albright walks away as the crowd claps, and Sanders looks on in disgust, unable to take the spotlight from Albright once again.

Styles: Brent Albright just keeps his winning ways going, and looks like he is gaining some confidence and edge along the way. Sanders seems hell bent on putting an end to Albright's Spotlight streak, but I just don't see it happening.

Battlebowl: The Lethal Lottery
Howard Finkel stands in the ring and grabs a microphone.

Finkel: Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the first match, in Battlebowl, which will crown the first ever Kansas City Border Champion on June 30th at Redemption! The rules of Battlebowl are that out of the field of 32 eligible competitors, 2 random names are chosen to face off against 2 other random names. The winner of that match advances to 1 of 2 Battle Royals. The winner of each Battle Royal will go 1 on 1 at Redemption to crown the KC Border Champion! Let's meet our first competitor!

Petey Williams' music kicks on as Petey walks out to a chorus of boos from the Kansas City crowd. Petey slides into the ring, shoots a look at the fans, and turns his attention to the entranceway.

Finkel: And his partner....

Billy Kidman walks out to a nice pop from the crowd who haven't seen him in a while. Kidman slides into the ring and reaches for a handshake with Petey, who shakes his hand and exchanges a few words with him.

Finkel: And the first of their opponents...

Chris Chetti makes his way out to a courtesy pop from the crowd. He slides into the ring and looks to the entrance...

Johnny Devine comes walking out next. Petey and Devine are on opposite teams to kick off Battlebowl. Petey Williams has a look of shock on his face, with a slight smile perking out of the corner of his mouth. The referee calls for the bell!

A back and forth match, with Devine and Petey meeting up in the ring a few times. Petey was very rough with Devine, and Devine seemed to be taking offense. The Finish: Kidman clotheslines Chetti over the top and to the floor on the outside. Petey whips Devine into the ropes, and jumps for a leapfrog. When Petey comes down, he tweaks his knee. The referee is checking on him as Devine comes over to take a look as well. Devine puts his arm around him to hold him up, and Petey SNAPS off a Russian Legsweep, dropping Devine. He picks Devine up, and NAILS the Canadian Destroyer for the win for his team!

Petey Williams & Billy Kidman defeat Johnny Devine & Chris Chetti by pinfall in 8:23 to advance in Battlebowl. (69/57/89)
Post-Match: Petey pulls Devine up by the arm and smacks him on the back of the head, almost saying "I got you this time", but being a real dick about it. Devine turns and shoves Petey. Petey looks down at his own chest, with handprints from Devine. He smiles towards the crowd, and drops Devine with a hard right hand before leaving the ringside area.

Tazz: You know, these Canadians really need to settle their differences or just get away from each other. Either way, it isn't working. Nice debut for Billy Kidman, and great to have him here. We'll see both he and Petey Williams in the Battle Royal in 2 week!

Battlebowl: The Lethal Lottery
Austin Aries is the first out to the ring for his Battlebowl match. He looks towards the entranceramp and slowly awaits who will hold his chance at the KC Border Title in their hands. He is a bit perplexed to see...

Maven, in his debut with CSW, is in Battlebowl, and will be paired with Austin Aries. He offers a handshake, but Aries just kind of smiles in his direction. They both watch the entranceway.

X-pac's music hits as the crowd explodes. Aries and Maven both look at each other with a sudden look of determination on their faces. X-pac stands in the ring and points towards the entranceway...

Roderick Strong walks out next. He has a huge evil grin on his face, and Aries returns the look right back to him. Strong gets in the ring, and whispers something to Aries as Maven and X-pac just stand by in disbelief. The referee calls for the bell.

Maven offers to start for his team, and X-pac heads to the apron...but Strong grabs him and tells him to start the match. X-pac rolls his eyes, seeing where this is probably going. Maven and X-pac square off for a bit, but neither can seem to tag in their tag team partners, who seem pre-occupied talking to the crowd, lacing their boots, and generally not paying attention. Maven and X-pac hit a double clothesline, still wanting to get the win, and both are down, crawling for their corners. The Finish: As each man dives for the respective tag, both Aries and Strong drop off of the apron and meet each other in the entrance ramp. They're both laughing at pointing in the ring, as the referee leans over the ropes, begging them to get back in the match. Just then, Alex Shelley comes from the crowd and slides in behind the unsuspecting X-pac. X-pac turns around, right into the SHELLSHOCK! Shelley is gone before anyone even notices, including Maven, who was still down. Maven stands up, sees X-pac down, drops an elbow, and covers for the 3 count!

Maven & Austin Aries defeat X-pac & Roderick Strong by pinfall in 7:13 to advance in Battlebowl. (69/60/78)
Post-Match: Aries is clapping for Maven as Roderick Strong has a mock look of disappointment on his face for his team losing. They both slide into the ring and raise Maven's arms in victory. Maven looks confused, and is right to, because before he knows what happens, Aries and Strong drop him with a double brainbuster. Aries climbs the ropes and makes a motion of a belt around his waist.

Styles: You know, these little pricks are back at it again, this time just not even participating in the matchup. The one thing I really can't understand is that alot of these fans seem to be enjoying it. I guess even Hitler had his fans. Either way, we're gonna see Maven and Austin Aries entered into the Battle Royal!

Battlebowl: The Lethal Lottery
Low Ki walks to the ring as the announcer tells us it is time for our 3rd Battlebowl match. Ki looks like he is all business as he stands in the center of the ring.

Super Crazy walks out next, looking in the ring and being very happy with his pairing. He slides in and bumps fists with Low Ki. This team is going to be hard to top!

Both men stand surprised as Psicosis walks out next. He looks in the ring and smiles at both men, still standing in the aisle. He turns around, hoping he gets a good draw to compete with this superteam.

It's CIMA. All the way from NWA: Japan, CIMA is making his first appearance in CSW. He walks out and slaps Psicosis on the back. They shoot each other a glance, and both sprint to the ring, sliding in.

Great matchup here between 4 stars with plenty of international recognition. Back and forth action, spilling in and out of the ring the entire time. The Finish: Psicosis is laid out in the ring, thanks to a Super Crazy Powerbomb. Low Ki heads up top and comes off with a vicious double-stomp to the chest of Psicosis. As Ki looks down to go for the pin, he is blindsided by CIMA, who knocks him over the top to the outside. Super Crazy grabs CIMA for an attempted powerbomb, but CIMA counters it in midair to a facebuster. CIMA climbs the ropes and comes off with a vicious Frog Splash for the victory!

CIMA & Psicosis defeat Super Crazy & Low Ki by pinfall in 11:12 to advance in Battlebowl. (76/67/86)
Post-Match: All 4 men meet in the center of the ring and exchange handshakes. Low Ki is the first to leave, with his head held low. CIMA shakes hands with both Mexicools and leaves the ring to a nice ovation. Psicosis and Crazy are last in the ring, and embrace before Crazy raises Psicosis' hand. Crazy makes the motion of the title belt around Psicosis' waist, and they both head out of the ring.

Tazz: What a great match from 4 great competitors. Gotta love the post match sportsmanship as well. Our first international star, CIMA is headed to the Battle Royal, and Psicosis will join him as well. I'm a bit worried about Low Ki, who just can't seem to pick up a win lately here in Central States Wrestling.

Backstage Segment: Natural Born Champions
Sean O'Haire & Mark Jindrak are sitting backstage watching a monitor. They hold their CSW Tag Team Title Belts over their shoulders as they watch the last match end on the monitor.

O'Haire: I'm honestly surprised those guys can even walk after last week. They may not be champs, but they're some crazy tough Mexican bastards.

Jindrak: Maybe they need another knee to the back of the head to set them straight and show them the road back down to the border

O'Haire: Well, they just may get one if they get in our way, kind of like every other so called "tag team" in the dressing room. People are gonna learn to not only respect the CSW Tag Champs, but they are gonna fear us, by--

The sound of somebody clearing their throat interrupts O'Haire, and both Thrillers quickly rise to their feet and turn around. Standing before them, with a smirk on their faces, are Austin Aries & Roderick Strong.

Aries: I didn't want to interrupt your little stroke fest there about how great you guys are, but I wanted to just bring something to your attention. Remember Blaze of Glory? That wasn't too long ago. Well, you won a match against the New Age Outlaws, thanks to the two of us, that somehow made you the #1 Contenders to the Tag Team Titles, and eventually led to you winning those pretty belts.

Strong: Meanwhile, we mopped the floor with two former ECW "stars" in Shane Douglas and Tazz. I guess you have to go after the big boys from the WWE to get noticed around here, so that’s exactly what we did with The Outlaws. Anyway, enough about our affairs...lets talk about yours. We're here right now to make a simple challenge. You have those belts right now because of us, so it is only fair that we get a shot at the CSW Tag Team Titles next week on Cyclone!

O'Haire & Jindrak look at each and O'Haire kicks the chair out of the way that sat between the two teams.

O'Haire: Listen punks. We defend these titles any time, any where, and I guarantee you their isn't a team in the Central States Wrestling that even has a chance of taking these away from us. First off, we would've killed the Outlaws regardless of what you idiots did while you were hiding under the ring. Secondly, your asses are on, next week, for the CSW Tag Titles. Just don't be sad when you look up after the match and see us still holding these pretty belts over your short little heads.

Battlebowl: The Lethal Lottery
Howard Finkel is once again in the ring.

Finkel: Ladies and Gentlemen, the final Battlebowl match of the evening. Introducing first...

Elix Skipper makes his way out to a negative reaction from the local crowd. Skipper is mouthing off and stands on the middle rope, taunting the locals. He anxiously looks up to the entrance:

And here comes Nova. The former Simon Dean is back in his old persona and has been training hard to get back in real performance shape. A nice mix of styles here between the two innovators. They shake hands and look up to the entrance...

Both react with a look of disgust, as Steve Corino's music kicks on. Corino walks out with a smug look on his face and stares at the two guys in the ring. A quick cut to last week's surprise appearance by Corino airs:

Tape Rolls

Corino: I've heard this is Central States Wrestling....where they make the old school new again? Well you sure else hell can't talk about making the old school new without the "King of Old School", Steve Corino. And Styles, make sure you keep your grubby little fingerprints off of that KC Border Title. In fact, just keep it in the glass case until June 30th at Redemption, at which point you can help me put it around my waist. Cause that's right, I am officially the first entrant in Battlebowl. And a quick message to the fortunate soul that draws me as a random partner. Don't try to get smart with me, don't try to get cute in there. You just stand on the apron, and ride along on the coat tails of one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world today....Steve Corino

Back to live action

Corino stands in the ring, looking intently towards the entryway. He has a look of intensity, and hopefulness as music fills the arena...

HERE COMES THE PAIN!

It's the CSW debut of Brock Lesnar. The look on Corino's face is priceless. A look of shock quickly turns into a huge open mouth smile as Corino realizes he may have just pulled a trump card with the return of Brock Lesnar to the ring. Lesnar soaks in the reaction of the local crowd, and leaps up onto the ring apron. He slides into the ring and walks right by Corino and clotheslines Nova nearly out of his boots to open the match.

The crowd goes ballistic as Brock hits all of his signature spots on Nova. He throws Nova into the corner, allowing him to tag Skipper, who fires off a barrage of kicks before Lesnar catches one and plants him with a powerbomb. The Finish: Lesnar takes Skipper up for the F5 and nails it on him, absolutely destroying him. As he drops him, Corino slaps Lesnar on the back and climbs up to the top rope, dropping an elbow on the heart of Skipper for the 3 count as Lesnar stands by staring at Corino.

Brock Lesnar & Steve Corino defeat Elix Skipper & Nova by pinfall in 5:30 to advance in Battlebowl (81/72/91)
Post-Match: Lesnar is staring Corino down as Corino jumps around like a moron in the ring. Lesnar smiles a bit, and turns away, only for Corino to jump on his back, pumping his fist in celebration. Brock shakes him off and shoots him a look that calms him down in a second. Corino reaches out for a handshake, and Brock shakes his hand and leaves the ring. Corino looks out to the crowd and points towards Lesnar, knowing he just had a godsend of a partner.

Styles: Corino didn't even wrestle!!! All that talk about just staying out of his way and letting him do his thing, and the little bitch barely got in the ring. Oh, he made sure to take the credit though, like always. I have to question Corino's motives here in befriending Lesnar, but who knows, I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt...for a week. Lesnar looked incredible, and we'll see both he and his tag team partner in the Battle Royal in 2 weeks.

Video Segment: The King of Kings
Styles: My broadcast partner, Tazz, had the unenviable task of sitting down with the number one contender, The Game Triple H, earlier this week. I have to say, I'm glad it wasn't me, partner.

Tazz: It was definitely illuminating.

Styles: Let's roll it.

Tape Rolls

Tazz: It's my pleasure to sit down with the number one contender for the CSW Heavyweight title, Triple H. Game, thank you for joining us.

Triple H: The pleasure's all yours.

Tazz: Many of the fans were shocked by the fact that you were, I guess we'd have to call it upset, by Jeff Jarrett in the finals of the Owen Hart Memorial Tournament to crown the first ever CSW Heavyweight Champion. What are your thoughts?

Triple H: My thoughts? My thoughts? Well, Short Round, my thoughts aren't really that deep on it. I got robbed. I am THE GAME. I am the King of Kings. I'm a 10 time WWE Heavyweight Champion. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, in that tournament was even in my league. Hell, did you see what happened in my first round match?

Tazz: Well, that would have been when you damn near crippled Charlie Haas in a show of poor sportsmanship that has seldom…

Triple H: I didn't "damn near cripple" him. Charlie Haas' career will never be the same again. I destroyed him like the lower class citizen he is. What was he thinking stepping in the ring with me? What has he ever done?

Tazz: Well, what about the man who beat you? What about Jeff Jarrett?

Triple H: I will show Jeff Jarrett what it means to have your life flash between your eyes. He wants to talk about having heart? Jeff, I have more heart than you could possibly imagine. Just cause this heart is black doesn't mean it isn't a heart. I have more respect and admiration for this business in my little finger than you have in your entire Memphis-born body. Don't even talk to me about heart. At Redemption, I will get my redemption. I will prove who is the best wrestler in this business. I will prove who is the best wrestler ever. I will prove who is the GAME!

Tazz: Yet you don't have the title…

Triple H tosses the table between them out of the way and gets right up in Tazz's face, nose to nose.

Triple H: Listen here, you little goddamn midget! That belt will be around my waist after Redemption. You can take that straight to the bank. Because I am The King of Kings. I am the Game. I am the greatest wrestler alive today. And Jeff Jarrett can't even carry my bags. Interview over.

Triple H rips off his mic and walks out.

Back to the booth.

Styles: Well, still making friends wherever you go, huh, partner?

Tazz: That is one whacked out dude, I'll tell you that.

Main Event: Non-Title Match: Jeff Jarrett (CSW Champion) v Ken Shamrock
Both men shake hands in the center of the ring to start the match, and have a nice old school matchup. Shamrock continually works on Jarrett's leg, and Jarrett attempts to work over Shamrock's knee, but Shamrock constantly turns it into offense of his own on Jarrett. They get a bit intense in the middle of the match, exchanging chops, and Shamrock hitting a belly to belly suplex over the top rope and to the floor. The Finish: Shamrock, intent on slapping the ankle-lock on Jarrett, continues pounding away on the ankle. He finally locks it in, right in the center of the ring, but Jarrett climbs up the ring ropes, trying to release the pressure. Shamrock pulls him back to the middle of the ring, and Jarrett powers up onto his hands again, this time whipping around and nailing a kick right to Shamrock's chest. Shamrock releases and bounces off the ropes, stumbling forward right into a Jarrett small package for the win!

Jeff Jarrett defeats Ken Shamrock by pinfall in 13:12. (85/82/89)
Post-Match: Shamrock quickly hops up and gives a quick argument with the referee about the 3 count. He turns to Jarrett, and shakes his hand. He grabs the title from the referee and presents it to Jeff Jarrett before raising his hand to the crowd, who responds in kind.

Styles: A great main event tonight, and the people are really getting behind Jeff Jarrett heading into his match at Redemption! We'll see you next week for more Battlebowl action, and a huge CSW Tag Team Titles Match!! Thanks for joining us!

Next, news on Samoa Joe. As many of you know, Samoa Joe recently took the contract intended for Masato Tanaka for the NWA: Japan Tournament to crown their first Heavyweight Champion, and signed HIS name to the dotted line. It has been confirmed that Joe IS in Japan this week, and evidently will be competing in that tournament. Tanaka was said to be very upset by Joe's continued lack of respect. The Event Center has learned that Tanaka was backstage at Cyclone this week, and is entered into Battlebowl. Obviously, his name wasn't called, so we can expect to see Mr. Tanaka next week.

And the first group of Battlebowl Matches is done, so we can now confirm this match for Cyclone on June 17:

Battlebowl 8 Man Battle Royal: Winner Advances to KC Border Title Match at Redemption:

Quite a lot of impressive superstars in that match, and it is truly anyone's match to win.

Finally, the poster for CSW Redemption has been released:

Redemption is LIVE on June 30, 2006 from Kansas City, KS. We already know that Jeff Jarrett will defend his CSW Championship against Triple H at this event, as well as the Finals of Battlebowl to crown the KC Border Champion. Due to the incidents AGAIN this week on Cyclone, Mr. Hart has announced another match for this supershow:

Alex Shelley v X-pac, 2 out of 3 Falls Match

Central States Wrestling is hopeful that this special attraction match will help these two men finally settle their personal grudge against each other.

That's all for this week, and we'll see you next week on Cyclone!

Tenay: Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to a championship edition of Ichiban TV! I’m your host Mike Tenay here with my broadcast partner Dave Meltzer.

DM: Thanks Professor. That’s right, we are going to have some SERIOUS championship gold on the line tonight as in our main event we will be crowning a new NWA Japan Junior Heavyweight Champion.

Tenay: What a great match that is going to be. Also we have FOUR, count them, FOUR NWA Japan Heavyweight title tournament matches TONIGHT! By the way, if you missed last weeks show, let’s go back and show you what happened………that lead to Samoa Joe making his way to NWA Japan.

QUOTE
In-Ring Segment: The Land of the Rising Sun Comes Calling
Todd Grisham stands in the ring with a clipboard and a microphone.

Grisham: It is my honor at this time to introduce one of the top stars in Central States Wrestling and the World round, Masato Tanaka!

Tanaka comes to the ring, dressed casually. He steps in and shakes Todd Grisham’s hand.

Grisham: Now, ladies and gentlemen, and Mr. Tanaka, if you would turn your attention to the video screen, for a very special message from The Professor, Mike Tenay!

Tenay: Thank you Todd. My name is Mike Tenay, and I am coming to you right now via prerecorded message from Japan. As you may recently now, NWA: Japan had to make the unfortunate decision to suspend one of its athletes, Masahiro Chono, from the NWA: Japan Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Due to this, it is my honor to announce at this time, that NWA: Japan is extending this Open Invitation Contract to Masato Tanaka of NWA: Central States, to be an entrant into the tournament. Mr. Tanaka, you are obviously an established superstars in the States, as well as in Japan, and it would be our honor if you would join us in our tournament to crown the NWA Japan Heavyweight Champion. Mr. Grisham has the open contract for your first round match next week, just sign on the dotted line. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing you in action next week!

With that, Grisham pulls a pen from his coat pocket and along with the clipboard, hands it to Tanaka. Tanaka flips up one page of the contract, but wait, Samoa Joe just slid into the ring behind Tanaka. I don’t think Tanaka even sees him. Tanaka puts the pen to the paper, but Joe grabs him from behind in a half-nelson, and takes him backwards with a half-nelson suplex, right on the head. Grisham quickly runs from the ring. Joe looks at Tanaka, prone on the mat, and turns his attention to the contract lying in the ring. Joe picks it up, flips the page, and SIGNS THE CONTRACT! He tosses it to Grisham, and is leaving the arena!

Lets get down to the ring where our first matchup is going to get underway. Take it away Dave….

DM: Well Mike, we have two great competitors here in the ring. First we have Samoa Joe. He’s one of the BEST the United States has to offer. He’s famous for having a title run for Ring of Honor where it lasted about TWO years. It was very impressive stuff Iron Mike. BUT, I know that many in the NWA japan competition committee are upset that he’s even here at all, as Masato Tanaka was suppost to be in that spot.

Tenay: They sure are Dave, I was surprised that after what he did that they even allowed him into the tournament. As you all know that spot was opened up when Masahiro Chono’s heinous actions caused the championship committee to suspend him from this tournament.

DM: This is true Mike. But enough about this situation and lets get into Takeshi Rikio, Joe’s foe in this contest. Rikio is one of the most underrated young athletes in this tournament and you would be foolish if you underestimated his chances at actually winning this thing. He’s one of the few people that can say that they actually hold a pinfall victory of Kenta Kobashi as he defeated him in his TWO YEAR GHC title reign in Pro Wrestling NOAH. He also is a former GHC Tag Team Champion with then partner Takeshi Morishima. To say the least Mike, this is gonna be one hell of a contest.

Samoa Joe vs Takeshi Rikio

Tenay: Rikio gets slammed down to the canvas hard. Joe hits a stump piledriver on Takeshi Rikio!!!!!!!!!! Pinfall attempt……1....2……no. Joe almost had him early here in this contest.

DM: Takeshi Rikio avoids an avalanche, Samoa Joe hits the turnbuckles hard. Takeshi Rikio strikes Samoa Joe. Big kick from Rikio. These two are really laying it on thick.

Tenay: Takeshi Rikio hits a bulldog off the ropes. Cover! 1....2....kick out at the last second! Rikio looks shocked. Apparently he’s not too schooled to Samoa Joe. It’s gonna take a lot more to beat Joe than that.

DM: Rikio hits a stump piledriver on Samoa Joe. Joe looks to be out of it. No, Joe counters a backdrop attempt with a kick to the face. Powerslam from Samoa Joe. Joe’s feeling it now, he’s really pouring it on.

Tenay: Joe hits a stump piledriver on Takeshi Rikio!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rikio looks to be totally out of it. Joe misses a clothesline.

DM: Wait a minute Iron Mike, It’s MASATO TANAKA!!!!!!!!!

Tenay: It sure is and he’s running to the ring with a STEEL CHAIR! Rikio whips Samoa Joe into the ropes. Tanaka jumps onto the apron with the chair! WOW!!!!! Tanaka may have just hit Joe harder with that chair than I’ve ever seen anyone hit with a chair!!!!!! Joe staggers back into a roll up! 1...2...3! It's over!

DM: Masato Tanaka pushes the referee aside, then continues to assault Joe! Right hands rain down on Samoa Joe, pounding him into the canvas. Satisfied with his work, Masato Tanaka turns and leaves the ring, the damage done.

Tenay: I’m not saying I’m condoning those actions Dave, but you gotta feel for Tanaka.

DM: Very true Iron Mike. There’s no doubt that Joe cost Tanaka a MAJOR opportunity. Only to take it himself? C’mon, he’s lucky that Tanaka didn’t try to maim him permanentally.

Tenay: Could have fooled me Dave, could have fooled me.
Winner - Rikio

Go Shiosaki vs Jun Akiyama

Tenay: Akiyama takes a chop from Go. Akiyama counters a sleeper hold by turning it into a jaw breaker.

DM: Short range spear from Jun Akiyama. Go gets hit with a splash mountain out of the corner. Go Shiosaki is in serious trouble Iron Mike.

Tenay: Oh NO!!!!!! Here it comes - Wrist Clutch Exploder. 1....2...3, it's finished. Jun Akiyama goes into the crowd, where he celebrates his victory. What an impressive win for Jun.

Winner - Akiyama

Jushin Liger vs Takuma Sano

Tenay: Sano walks into a high dropkick from Jushin Liger. Takuma Sano fights out of a grapple. Liger takes a kick to the chest, and staggers back.

DM: Liger reverses an irish whip...and Takuma Sano runs into the referee! Takuma Sano with an enziguri. Pinfall attempt, but the referee is out. Liger counters a backdrop attempt with a kick to the face.

Tenay: Driven DDT by Jushin Liger. Liger hits a high kick on Takuma Sano. Pin : 1....2..no. The match continues. Back heel kick off the second rope, Sano goes down. Pin : 1....2....no! They cut that one close. Jushin Liger misses a big legdrop. Sano hits a high kick on Jushin Liger. Hooks the leg : 1....2....shoulder up!

DM: That was close. Liger blocks a punch. Takuma Sano is in trouble. Here it comes - Brainbuster. 1....2...3, it's finished.

Tenay: Jushin Liger climbs each turnbuckle in turn, working the crowd as he celebrates his victory

Winner - Liger

Rating - **1/2

Tenay: Folks, Mitsuharu Misawa is in the ring with a microphone. I bet he has some harsh words for Masahiro Chono.

DM: MIKE LOOK……..

Out from the crowd comes Masahiro Chono, who grabs a chair from ringside as he hits the ring. Misawa turns, and gets floored by a brutal chair shot. Masahiro Chono moves in for the kill. Here it comes - Shining Yakuza Kick. Masahiro Chono raises the chair and drives it side-first into the throat of Misawa, causing him to roll around in agony. The chair gets put around the head of Mitsuharu Misawa, who then gets driven face-first into the mat, crushing his wind pipe against the steel. Paramedics come running out to help Mitsuharu Misawa as Masahiro Chono exits via the crowd.

(67)

Tenay: Ladies and gentleman………I’m seriously speechless. I have no idea what to say. Those of you just joining us…….Misawa here being carried out on a stretcher.

DM: That sure was something to see Mike. I don’t ever remember seeing anyone doing something of that nature to Misawa. I sure wouldn’t want to be in Chono’s shoes right now.

Tenay: Next up we have another tournament match here with two guys that there is surely bad blood between.

DM: That’s right Mike. These two men have went one on one several times here in the last few weeks with Taiyo Kea coming out the aggressor. He won both of their matches and I know that Tanahashi is not to pleased with his performance coming into the tournament.

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Taiyo Kea

Tenay: Back suplex on Kea. Kea counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Taiyo Kea hits some punches. The referee gets hit by a wild right hand and is down.

Tenay: Hey everybody, let’s go right now to Dave backstage who is with Genichiro Tenryu….

DM: Mr. Tenryu, we understand that you have called us here tonight for a matter of great importance. Care to elaborate?

Tenryu: Yes, Mr. Meltzer…….I’ll elaborate. It seems that this week NWA Japan is going to go on without me. Yes, ME. But they won’t go a week without Kobashi. It’s pure favoritism Mr. Meltzer. See, I interfere in a match…….I’m suspended from tournament. Kobashi interfere’s in a match………he’s NOT suspended from anything. In fact, he’s on TV the next week.

DM: I think there were different circumstances in that mat….

Tenryu: WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE MR. MELTZER? Really? Just who the hell do you think you are? GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE, BEFORE I DECIDE TO END YOUR BROADCASTING CAREER…………MR. MELTZER.

Tenay: Welcome back Dave. It appears that you have upset Tenryu there.

DM: Apparently. Next though we have a contest between two legends. Kenta Kobashi/Riki Choshu would have been a dream match anywhere in Japan. These two have never faced off in the ring and I know there is a great deal of respect between these two. I spoke to both men this week and I know that they were both very excited to be in there with each other.

Tenay: That’s for sure. I remember talking to Kobashi the week before our first show and him mentioning Riki as someone that he’d love to get in there with. Choshu also told me last week that he feels as if he can still give Kobashi a good match at his age.

DM: Well even though Choshu is getting up there in years Iron Mike, that’s no excuse for Kobashi to take him lightly.

Tenay: Well I highly doubt that will happen considering the competitor that Kobashi is. Also, this is a very controversial match as there was a lot of upset competitors in the locker room over the fact that no action was taken against Kobashi for his actions last week.

DM: That’s true as well Mike. But I’m sure most of them understand the situation as I felt that the committee made the correct decision.

Tenay: Well both competitors are in the ring, this one is going to be a first for sure.

Kenta Kobashi vs Riki Choshu

Tenay: Choshu walks into a spike slam by Kobashi. Side choke slam on Choshu. Kobashi picks him up……….standing spinebuster. ! 1....2....kick out at the last second!

DM: Kobashi looks shocked. Kobashi slams Riki Choshu down. Hooks the leg : 1....2....shoulder up. Kobashi continues to be frustrated here. Choshu counters an avalanche with a raised foot to the face.

Tenay: Kobashi tastes a high angle back suplex. Gutwrench into a powerbomb, Kobashi hits hard. Kobashi blocks a punch. Massive backbreaker, Choshu got planted.

DM: Riki Choshu is in trouble. Orange Crush!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Kenta Kobashi extends his hand to Choshu...and it is accepted! They shake!

Tenay: Truly a great moment here in NWA Japan. THAT’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT IN THE SPORT OF KINGS.

Tenay: Now it’s time for the main event of the evening and the crowning of the first champion in NWA Japan history. Take it away again Dave…..

DM: Sure thing Mike, these two competitors both have a history. They’ve faced off several times in the old Pro Wrestling NOAH promotion where they both held the Tag Titles and the Junior title there. Also they were Junior Tag Team Champions in the company as well. These two men have traveled up and down the road together and are friends outside of wrestling as well. It’s evident that all is well between them as last week they attacked Jushin Liger. I spoke with both men over the week to find out why and they explained it in great detail. Apparently both men were big fans of Jushin Liger while growning up in Japan. They both made it a point to mention that he influenced them BOTH to become professional wrestlers. BUT, KENTA made it a point to tell me that the guard is changing here in NWA Japan. He said that Liger has already had his time in the sun and now it’s time for a young superstar such as themselves to become what the benchmark is in the sport.

Tenay: WOW, thanks Dave. This one is gonna be an UNBELIEVEABLE match.

NWA: Mid-Atlantic's Saturday Night Flood has been pre-empted due to a flood, quite ironically.  To make-up for the June 3 show, there will be a special two hour edition of NWA: Mid-Atlantic's Saturday Night Flood to air on June 10.

This is perhaps the most shameless plug ever attempted by a professional wrestling promotion.
