Well I guess I ended up being wrong. I thought they were just going to go for 12 defenses for Kobashi but I guess they'll just keep going with him.
Though I think they need to start considering life after Misawa and Kobashi if NOAH is really going to be a success long term.

I didn't see Kobashi losing the GHC in this match and I really have no clue if they even have a plan on who the next up for GHC even is. Especially since Kawada would NEVER be brought in, I really think they are setting up their next champ for a rough time.
Mad Dog - January 9, 2005 10:45 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm thinking they panic on the next champ and the belt ends up back on Misawa or Kobashi within months.
dynamite kido - January 9, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
Honestly, I could deal with it if they had to shoot it back to Kobashi.......but Misawa....UGH.

What about Akiyama?
But yeah, put the belt on Rikio or Morishima and their legs will be cut out from under them
Mad Dog - January 9, 2005 10:57 PM (GMT)
I could live with Akiyama but I think they need to start getting away from their big three and start building up for the future.
dynamite kido - January 10, 2005 02:48 PM (GMT)
Considering that the way Akiyama has been booked......I don't think that they could have him win the GHC at THIS point. Maybe if they had decent time to set it up......but I don't think hotshotting him the belt is a good idea either.

Are they even grooming a next possible champ right now? It seems too that according to some that the crowds are kind of turning on Kobashi in matches and getting behind his challengers.
dynamite kido - January 10, 2005 11:22 PM (GMT)
It sure doesn't seem as if they are grooming anyone to be the next champ. Hell, they seem to having a hard time coming up with grooming challengers.
