Title: 75 Bands Picture
jamiegeist - May 11, 2006 08:18 PM (GMT)
There are 75 bands in this picture. Some of them are a real whore. But have fun!
http://www.heavy.com/heavy.php?channel=virginGameWanted to put a pic in here, but most of them are clipped, thus fucking up the game.
I got to 51 before I lost my mind, quit, and found some spoilers online.

I followed your link and got a big-ass Flash ad for Adult Swim.
I'm pretty sure you're looking for THIS picture:

Or:
The bigger versionI think it's a crime that there's not a Flock of Seagulls or an Ice Cube in the shot.

All I can think of off the top of my head are the "men in black" being a reference to AC/DC. I'm usually more on, but it's been a shitty day.
EDIT: and the guns and roses.

The problem with the one you posted is it is clipped on the left and right, cutting out a few (very easy) answers.
The link works just fine for me, showing an ad, and then going to the picture, which gives you a magnifying glass, which you'll need for zooming.

I also picked up Smashing Pumpkins and Led Zepplin. And the Eagles.

There's the Rolling Stones, Alice in Chains, and I think I see some Black Crows on top of that street sign on the far right.

Not to be a bigger prick than usuall, but...
..if this turns into "look, I found two more"...this will be a LONG (and useless) thread.
Jamie has the right idea: "I got to 51". If you get more than 51, announce it. Seems rather goofy to post everytime you find one or two.

Well, we (myself not included) could start numbering and naming. I more just posted it for people to have a look at and try out if they were bored, so whatever.

Well, there's not much that can be discussed about it. Even if it everyone points out one at a time, the most replies the thread can get is 74. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I can't believe I missed Black Flag...
And are the guys with Surf-boards the Beach Boys?
eStragand - May 12, 2006 04:16 PM (GMT)
Oh, bullocks!
-Dinosaur, Jr. (the little dinosaur behind the queen)
-Cornershop (the sign "SHOP" on the corner)
-Lemonheads (end of the fruit stand)
-Ratt
-Red Hot Chili Peppers (fruit stand)
-The White Stripes (on the road... crosswalk)
-Blur (the blurry guy on the right)
-U2 (graffiti of two "U's")
-Crowded House ?? (the packed apartment on the right)
-Cypress Hill (tree on the hill in the middle)
-The Cars
-Hole
-Sex Pistols (Queen is holding pistols with dildos)
-Queen (duh... I didn't realize that until I typed the last bullet!)
-Prince (being held up by the Queen)
-Gorillaz could be Monkees...or, one looks like Mighty Joe Young (STP's original name, but that's a big stretch)
-Madonna (poster on the left)
-Seal (poster on the left)
-The Carpenters (on top of the U2 building)
-Cowboy Junkies (cowboy shooting up with heroin on the corner)
-Nine Inch Nails (By Matchbox 20)
-The Doors
-The Roots (by the drain, below 50 Cent)
-Green Day (the calendar on the fruit stand)
-Cake (by the Pet Shop Boys)
Weird ones:
-KISS ? (the people making out on the lamppost)
-The "Men in Black" ...is there a band called Reservoir Dogs..or could it be (LAME) The Killers?
-The three chics in front of the Rolling Stones... Trio?
-The hammer used to smash the pumpins could be classified as a TOOL (same for the Carpenters' stuff)
-The Cult? (Guys in white, look like they're singing)
-EVERYBODY in the picture could, technically, be classified as...
The Village People.
Also:
-Can't figure out the yellow Professor Zoom looking guy by the "Cornershop"
-"Main St" street sign. Only thing I can think of is "Exile on Main Street", the Stones album. But that doesn't fit with anything.
-The white chic blowing a bubble on the fire escape?
-The front of one building is mostly blue? Feel I should know this one.
-The blow-up doll in the window?

I thought Men in Black was a reference to Back in Black by AC/DC, or failing that, the Man in Black himself, Cash.
eStragand - May 12, 2006 04:43 PM (GMT)
I'd nix the AC/DC thing. Yeah, they did "Back in Black", but I don't remember anyone calling them "The Men in Black". Album titles don't seem to be prevalent in the picture (which is why the "Main St." perplexes me)
Edit: nice touch on the "Green Day" calendar. It's on a TUESDAY. If you remember the movie: "Tuesday is Soylent Green Day"
