Last weeks show was incredible, with both Batista and William Regal advancing to the finals of the NWA Championship Tournament.  Tune in this week as the two battered and bruised combatants sit down to sign their Championship Match contract.

What will Chris Benoit have to say about Bill Alfonso's interference? The Crippler lost his chance at the NWA Midwestern title thanks to the manager of Sabu, will he want revenge?

After what Homicide said last week, Jerry Lynn challenged the Notorious 187 here on DWBNWAMidwest.com.  We now know that Homicide has accepted!  And after Lynn's comments about more TV time for the X Division, NWA Midwest's management has agreed to make that match the Main Event!

Tune in for all this and more on the Superstation!

CSW Cyclone Saturday Night Preview for May 27, 2006:

The fallout from Blaze of Glory is upon us.  Jeff Jarrett captured the CSW Championship, and will be in attendance.  Not only will he offer his thoughts on an emotional night this past Tuesday, but he'll also be in the commentary booth for the main event:  A #1 Contender Match for the CSW Championship.

Triple H and Shelton Benjamin haven't been on the same page since they got to Central States Wrestling, and this week on Cyclone, they'll finally get a chance to iron out their differences in the ring, with a chance at the Championship at CSW Redemption on the line!

Also, The Mexicools will make their first CSW Tag Team Title defense, fresh off their victory over Team Canada at Blaze of Glory.  Their opponents?  The young, cocky, and suddenly streaking team of Mark Jindrak and Sean O'Haire, the Natural Born Thrillers.  The Thrillers issues an open challenge at Blaze of Glory, and asked for this title shot -- request granted!

Brent Albright has retained his spot in the Cyclone Spotlight every week, but faces a true test this week.  At Blaze of Glory, Albright was pinned in the center of the ring in the opening contest, an 8 man tag team match, by none-other than new CSW Signee, Mike Sanders.  Sanders reportedly wants the Spotlight to himself, and will open the show one on one with Brent Albright.

And in breaking news, reportedly a big announcement will be made this week on Cyclone that will change CSW for the next few weeks.  No word on what it will be, but be sure to tune in at 6:05 on TBS, and don't miss a minute of the action on Cyclone Saturday Night.

NEW Saturday Night Preview for May 27th 2006

It's official: Steve Corino has been traded to NWA: Central States Wrestling! Corino will no longer be participating in the NEW Championship tournament. The man Corino defeated in the first round, John Bradshaw Layfield, is said to be furious, and has demanded interview time! What will JBL have to say?

The NEW Championship tournament will continue with a pair of quarterfinal matches! Rene Dupree will face Christian Cage, and Kane will battle Edge!

Last week, former NWA Tag Team Champions America's Most Wanted jumped Team 3-D from behind! How will Team 3-D respond to the attack? You can bet that tables will be involved!

Plus, a huge main event has been signed. The team of Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, and Sonny Siaki will take on The Rock and Mick Foley in a three on two handicap match! Can the newly reunited Rock and Sock Connection overcome the numbers advantage and pick up a victory?

For all of this and more, you cannot miss NEW Saturday Night!

Damn, 8 matches? Plauge is bringing the RASSLIN this week.

And I'm not being a dick, or maybe I am, but May Day! is a really gay name for a supershow.

It is. I just couldn't think of anything else. The nanes of all my other Super Shows are stolen from WWF and WCW.

Sting def. Colt Cabana via submission when Colt Cabana tapped out to the Scorpion Deathlock at 8:47. After the match Randy Orton slide into the ring and flattened Sting with the RKO while he was celebrating. For kicks he then RKO’ed Colt Cabana for no apparent reason than to be a douchebag. He then did his stupid-bastard pose for several minutes.
**1/2
75/74/77

Goldberg def. Steven Richards when Goldberg caught the Stevie Kick, and put Richards in a Jackhammer at 7:18.
**3/4
77/77/78

Randy Orton def. Val Venis when Venis went for the Money Shot, but Orton knocked him on the turnbuckle and got the Super RKO at 10:15. After the match, Sting caught Orton by surprise, whaled him with the black baseball bat to the corner, and did the Stinger Splash. Sting then hit him again with the black baseball bat.

81/77/86

Christopher Daniels def. Scotty 2 Hotty with the Angel Wings at 12:36. After the match, he did the Angel Wings on Scotty 2 Hotty for a second time. And then did the Angel Wings on the referee Mark Johnson…and Arn Anderson, and Johhny Ace. Because Daniels felt like it.
**3/4
77/70/85

Hulk Hogan def. Rhyno with the Legdrop of Doom at 13:46. After the match, Rhyno Gored referee Charles Robinson. In fact, he also Gored Mark Johnson who had just woken up after being put in the Angel Wings about 15 minutes earlier.

81/88/66

John Cena def. Rey Mysterio at 9:42 when Mysterio went to follow the 619 with a hurricanrana and Cena put him in the F-U instead.
**1/2
75/76/75

AJ Styles def. Chavo Guerrero via disqualification at 16 :51 when referee John Finnegan was laid-out when Rhyno entered the ring and Gored him. Chavo hit Styles with a steel folding chair and pinned Styles after laying-out Styles with the Gory Bomb as Finnegan came to. Mark Johnson came-to and informed Finnegan that Chavo hit Styles with the chair. Referee John Finnegan then over turned the decision to AJ Styles via disqualification. Afterwards, Chavo did not hit Finnegan, nor Johnson, nor Robinson; but Rhyno came-back and Gored all three at once.

NEW Saturday Night!
May 27th 2006

The opening package plays and some fireworks have been added to the beginning of NEW Saturday Night! This week is airing live from Bar Harbor, Maine! Ernie Rowe and Professor Plague are on commentary.

Rowe: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to week four of NEW Saturday Night!

Plague: And what a night its going to be! Tonight the Rock N Sock Connection reunite, only to be embarrassed by Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Sonny Siaki!

Rowe: I wouldn’t count on that, Plague, The Rock and Mick Foley are two of the toughest competitors in the history of our sport, but I will admit, they do have their work cut out for them tonight.

Plague: Funny you should say that, considering YOU are the one who makes the matches and all…

Rowe: Anyhow, lets get on with the show!

-John Bradshaw Layfield comes out to the ring and he does not look pleased at all. He takes a microphone.

JBL: It has come to my attention that the man who beat me in the NEW Championship tournament, Steve Corino, has been traded out of NEW. It has also come to my attention that Corino ASKED to be traded out. Apparently, Corino feels that he is too good to be a part of NEW, and in all honesty he has every right to feel that way. I mean, NEW is definitely where the big boys play, but New England itself? Hell, New England sucks! This area is overrun by liberals, white trash, and is just plain boring in general. Every moment I spend in New England simply kills me! So in that regard, I wish Steve Corino the best of luck, even if its over in the central states, the only part of the U.S. I cannot stand more than New England. But on the other hand, Steve Corino, how dare you have the audacity to beat the wrestling God and then run out of town before I could get my rematch! And how dare you give up your spot in the NEW Championship tournament so damn easily! This brings me to why I am out here… (looks toward the commentator’s booth) Ernie Rowe! I am asking… no, I am DEMANDING that you give Corino’s spot in the tournament to me.

Rowe: Why should I, JBL? It would only cheapen the tournament to let someone coast through without even winning a damn match! You know I am pissed off at Corino more than anyone, for already tarnishing the glory of the tournament and for walking away at such a prestigious prize as the NEW Championship. So you know what I am going to do, JBL? You will compete in a second opening round match, one that will replace the one you had with Corino. It will take place right now, and it will be against the man who came to us from NWA:CSW in exchange for Corino. Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pride that I introduce you to the newest member of the NEW roster: Chris Sabin!

74%

Match 1: JBL vs Chris Sabin (Opening Round Tournament Match)

Chris Sabin uses his speed and agility to out maneuver JBL in the early goings. Sabin hits some nice drop kicks and connects with an enziguri to the back of JBL’s head. Sabin goes for a crossbody off the ropes, but JBL catches him in midair and drops him on the turnbuckles. JBL puts Sabin in a sleeper, but Sabin escapes. Unfortunately, Sabin runs right into the Clothesline from Hell and JBL gets the victory at 4:34!

Winner: JBL, ** (72/73/73)

Rowe: There, now everyone is happy. My tournament is back on track and JBL got back in.

Plague: You should’ve just let him take Corino’s spot.

Rowe: Absolutely not. I wanted JBL to earn something for once.

-Backstage, Iron Troy Cumings is standing by with Chris Jericho and Ric Flair.

Troy: Gentlemen, tonight you face The Rock and Mick Foley in a handicap match with…

Jericho: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’re teaming with Sonny Siaki, who seems hell bent on being my little buddy. I'll tell you this, if I had my way Siaki would not be in this match tonight. I told him to stay out of my business, I did not need him answering The Rock for me last week. I don't see why he should be rewarded with another main event spot tonight.

Flair: Whooooo! It doesn’t matter, this match could be me against Foley and Rock alone and I’d still win, because I’m, WHOOOOOOO, the nature boy! Mick Foley is the worst excuse for a legend in this business that I’ve ever seen and The Rock is a washed up, out of shape, Hollywood pretty boy!

Troy: How important is tonight’s match for you two?

Jericho: This match, as well as my place in the NEW Championship tournament, means everything to me, Troy. Throughout my entire career I have been held down in every promotion I have ever been in. That is going to change. I am going to dominate NEW the way I should’ve been allowed to cut loose in WCW and WWE. And I am going to do it not by being funny, even though I am one witty son of a bitch, or by coming up with cool nicknames for myself, even though I am still the king of the world. I am going to do it by being the most relentless, toughest, bad-ass technical wrestling machine that New England has ever seen! Just look into my eyes and tell me that I’m not being dead serious. I am not a joke and no one, not even The Rock, is going to look past me this time.

95%

Match 2: Christian Cage vs Rene Dupree (Quarterfinal Tournament Match)

Christian looks conspicuous, as he is wrestling in street clothes instead of wrestling gear. He and Rene Dupree exchange shots for a few minutes, before Dupree hits a blind low blow behind the referee’s back. Dupree gets near fall and applies a side head lock on Cage. Christian fights out of it and hits the Unprettier on Dupree. Cage is about to make a cover when Edge storms the ring and hits another spear on Christian! This brings on the DQ from the referee, ending the match at 3:15. However, Edge looks to be the one hurt from the attack. Christian lifts up his shirt to reveal that he had steel plates taped around him, clearly anticipating Edge’s attack. Christian looks to say “Good luck in your match later” and heads out.

Winner: Christian Cage by DQ, **1/4 (77/78/76)

Rowe: Damn Edge! It was my deepest hope that this tournament would not feature any disqualification finishes!

Plague: How can you be mad at Edge when he is so clearly hurt! He has to wrestle Kane later tonight!

-James Storm and Chris Harris come out to the ring. They take a microphone and Harris cuts a short promo declaring that he and Storm will become the first ever NEW Tag Team Champions and that the match will happen at River Rumble. They declare that since they were the reigning NWA World Tag Team Champions before the fall of TNA, that they should be the automatically be crowned. This brings out Team 3-D, who rushes in and attempt to put AMW through tables. AMW fight back though and put both Team 3-D members through tables. AMW stand over their fallen opponents and pose.

72 %

Match 3: Kane vs Edge

Edge is still hurting from spearing a well shielded Christian earlier. This makes him an easy target for Kane, who dominates the match. Kane chokeslams the life out of Edge before pinning him in only 2:25.

Winner: Kane, **1/2 (74/68/80)

Rowe: I have to give props to Christian Cage, he used Edge’s predictability to injure him earlier and cost him the match tonight instead of lowering himself to Edge’s level and interring instead.

Plague: I don’t see how you can be pissed at Edge for ruining Christian’s match but can be impressed with Christian for ruining Edge’s!

Match 4: Rock N Sock Connection vs Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Sonny Siaki

Chris Jericho makes it clear in the very early going that he is not interested in teaming with Sonny Siaki. Jericho starts off against The Rock, and they lock up. Jericho dishes out some knife edge chops while Rock hits his signature punches. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Rock makes it to the ropes. Rock fights back and goes for the sharpshooter, but Jericho quickly tags in Ric Flair. Flair chops the life out of Rock, but Rock comes back with a spine buster. Foley is begging for a tag, so Rock obliges, but Flair quickly tags Jericho back in. Foley overpowers Jericho with his brawling and clotheslines him over the ropes. Foley backs Jericho into the steel steps, while Flair and Siaki double team The Rock in the ring. Foley runs back in for the save and helps Rock remove both Siaki and Flair from the ring. We head to a commercial at 5:05.

After the break, Foley and Jericho are going at it. Jericho hits a lionsault on Foley and goes for the cover, but The Rock breaks it up. Jericho makes it clear that he is avoiding tagging in Sonny Siaki, whom he has no confidence in. Flair is back in the ring, and doesn’t mind wrestling a hurt Foley. Flair drops some knees on Foley’s chest and goes for the figure four. The Rock breaks it up. Jericho charges the ring but Rock sends him flying over the ropes. Siaki then makes a blind tag to Flair and cleans house on Rock and Foley. Siaki hits the Siakalypse on Rock, but walks right into Mr. Socko and the mandible claw from Foley. Siaki is in big trouble, as Jericho storms back into the ring. The Rock cuts Jericho off again and they brawl into the audience, forgetting the match. In the ring, Foley has forced Siaki to pass out, and drags him to Flair so he can make a tag. Flair makes the reluctant tag and they tie up. It isn’t long before Flair accidentally clotheslines the referee. Foley and Flair are both exhausted and circle each other when suddenly… TOMMY DREAMER runs in with a kendo stick. Dreamer threatens to hit Flair with the stick, but instead nails Foley in the head with it! Foley goes down. Dreamer revives the referee, who is able to count Flair’s cover, giving him the win at 14:45!

Winners: Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Sonny Siaki, **3/4 (86/90/78)

Rowe: What in the world? Tommy Dreamer wasn’t scheduled to be here tonight! And why is he siding with Ric Flair?

Plague: I don’t know and I don’t care! This is the smartest thing Tommy Dreamer has ever done!

The show closes with Dreamer and Flair shaking hands

86/90/78

Cyclone Spotlight: Brent Albright v Mike Sanders
Cyclone opened up with the Cyclone Spotlight match. Brent Albright headed to the ring to an increasingly bigger crowd reaction, and one of the newest members of the CSW Roster, Mike Sanders, join him in the ring. Sanders grabbed a microphone:

Sanders: Ah, so this is Cyclone Saturday night. Feels good to be here. So good in fact, that I think it is time that I get cozy and make myself one of the regular attractions on Saturday Nights. And what better way to do that, then by winning the Cyclone Spotlight match and cementing myself into the opening of the hottest program on cable TV. It shouldn’t be hard, I mean, after all Brent, I did pin you just earlier this week. So lets not beat around the bush, lets do this thing....

Sanders charged at Albright and immediately ate mat courtesy of an Albright drop toehold. Albright kept Sanders stuck to the mat, shifting his focus from his normal expertise of the shoulder to Sanders right knee. Sanders eventually freed himself as the two men went crashing over the top rope when Sanders hit a clothesline on Albright. Sanders attacked Albright on the outside, slamming his back into the ring apron. Back in the ring, Sanders slapped a bow and arrow on Albright, trying to force him to submit. Albright refused to lose, and came back with some vicious clotheslines and a dropkick to the knee of Sanders. Albright grabbed Sanders for a Texas Cloverleaf, but Sanders grabbed a hand full of hair in grabbed a small package: 1, 2....Albright shifted his weight, rolling Sanders over on his back instead: 1, 2, 3!

Albright defeats Sanders by pinfall in 8:21 (64/55/74)
Post-Match: Sanders immediately hops up, getting in the referee’s face and questioning his count to 3. Albright walks by and puts 3 fingers right up in Sanders face as he exits the ring. Sanders stares at Albright as he walks down the aisle, with a look of revenge on his face.

Styles: Mike Sanders with a valiant effort, but it looks like Albright learned from their time in the ring earlier this week. Another impressive victory, as Brent Albright holds on to the spotlight.

In-Ring Segment: Old School Idea for some New Gold
Joey Styles is in the ring, standing next to a mysteriously shaped podium, which is covered in a black sheet. Styles addresses the crowd:

Styles: Ladies and Gentlemen. I have been given the privilege to at this time make a major announcement which will affect CSW over the next few weeks. As per order of the CSW President, Bret “Hitman” Hart, NWA: Central States will once again be “making the old school new again” when it brings you a concept from the early 90’s of NWA and WCW. The return of Battlebowl: The Lethal Lottery. The concept is simple, but winning is quite challenging. On June 30th, Central States Wrestling will present Redemption, which will feature the culmination of Battlebowl. Turn your attention to the video screen for a complete rundown of the rules and schedule:

NWA: CSW presents Battlebowl: The Lethal Lottery
32 Top Central States Superstars
Paired Randomly in Tag Team Matchups
Winning Team Advances to 1 of 2 Eight Man Battle Royals
Winner of each Battle Royal face off at Redemption on June 30.

Schedule:
June 3: 4 Tag Team Matches – Group 1
June 10: 4 Tag Team Matches – Group 2
June 17: 8 Man Battle Royal – Group 1
June 24: 8 Man Battle Royal – Group 2
June 30: Redemption: 1 on 1 Match for....

Styles: And the reward for this difficult mixture of luck and skill? Gold of course. Introducing the second singles title in NWA: Central States: Bridging the gap here in Kansas City between the Kansas side (boos) and the Missouri side (cheers), this is the Kansas City Border Championship!!

With that, Styles pulls the sheet off of the object, revealing a glass case sitting atop a stand. Inside lies the KC Border Championship. Suddenly, some unfamiliar music fills the arena as the fans look towards the entryway. Emerging from behind the curtain is none-other than CSW’s newest superstar: Steve Corino. Corino saunters to the ring to an immediate negative reaction from the crowd. He steps into the ring, looking at the KC Border Championship in its glass case, and extends his hand towards Joey Styles, asking for his microphone. Styles hands it over with a look of disdain on his face:

Corino: Oh Joey my good man, so nice to see you as well. Helllllllo Kansas City! Boy is it good to be here. Surely, you all know where I’ve been right? Well let me tell you in case you don’t. I recently came from NWA: New England. That’s right, N..E..W, where I might add, I was well on my way to winning the NEW Heavyweight Championship. Quick message to Chris Jericho: You lucked out pal. And you’ll need all the luck you can muster to win that tournament. But speaking of LUCK! Do you know how much I’ve had to listen to people whine and complain about luck and curses?! For god’s sake, I’ve spent the last month wanting to stab myself in the ear with a pencil cause I’ve heard so much about the race for the playoffs between the SAHX and the YANKEES. People! Its May for crying out loud. Shut the ***k up! (The hometown crowd cheers the bashing of the twin powers). Oh no no no. Please tell me you idiots didn’t just cheer. Thats right, you have to cheer people making fun of REAL sports teams, cause you sure as hell don’t get to cheer for any teams around here. (Cheers instantly turn to boos). But enough sportscenter. It’s time to talk about why I’m here...

I’ve heard this is Central States Wrestling....where they make the old school new again? Well you sure else hell can’t talk about making the old school new without the “King of Old School”, Steve Corino. And Styles, make sure you keep your grubby little fingerprints off of that KC Border Title. In fact, just keep it in the glass case until June 30th at Redemption, at which point you can help me put it around my waist. Cause that’s right, I am officially the first entrant in Battlebowl. And a quick message to the fortunate soul that draws me as a random partner. Don’t try to get smart with me, don’t try to get cute in there. You just stand on the apron, and ride along on the coat tails of one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world today....Steve Corino!

Corino drops the mic and leaves the ring as the crowd entertains themselves with a “Shut The ***k Up! Clap, Clap, Clap-clap-clap” chant.

New Age Outlaws v Petey Williams & Johnny Devine
Billy Gunn and Johnny Devine started out in the ring. Gunn shoulderblocked Devine to the mat after a brief sequence off of the ropes. Devine tagged in the stronger Petey to try and take down Gunn. Petey went right to him, matching power with Gunn and dropping him with a shoulderblock of his own. Road Dogg entered the match, and Petey went into a nice arsenal of moves including a backbreaker, suplex, and side russian legsweep for a near fall. Devine tagged back in and immediately fell victim to a Road Dogg armdrag. The Outlaws kept Devine in their corner, working him over. Devine hit a back suplex, and looked to his corner. Bypassing the tag to Petey, Devine picked up Road Dogg for a brainbuster, but Road Dogg slid behind him and rolled him up for a near fall. Devine stumbled backwards and Petey blind tagged in off of his back. As Petey entered the ring, Devine asked him what his problem was. Petey responded that he just can’t get the job done. Petey turned his attention to Road Dogg, who rattled off a flurry of punches, ending with a big right hand, flooring Petey. Road Dogg made the cover on Petey, and Devine ran in to break it up. Devine lept in the air with an elbow, but Road Dogg moves, and Devine landed an elbow right on Petey Williams. Road Dogg threw Devine over the top rope, and Billy Gunn entered the ring and nailed the Fame-asser on Petey for the 3 count!

New Age Outlaws defeat Petey Williams & Johnny Devine by pinfall in 9:13. (72/67/77)
Post-Match: Devine slides in the ring and he and Petey are again having a shouting match with each other. Petey shoves Devine, and Devine responds with a slap to the face. All the while, The Outlaws are backing up the aisle, laughing at the misfortunes of the destructive Team Canada. Out of nowhere, they are floored by Austin Aries & Roderick Strong, the same team that cost them their match at Blaze of Glory. Aries and Strong assault the outlaws in the entryway, nailing stereo brainbusters on the concrete floor. The crowd gives a mixed, but generally negative response.

Styles: It looks like Petey Williams and Johnny Devine need some serious counseling, and it appears as though Aries and Strong have picked their next targets: The New Age Outlaws. We’ve just been informed that all SIX of these men will be entered in Battlebowl, so what a combustible situation that could be!

In-Ring Segment: The Land of the Rising Sun Comes Calling
Todd Grisham stands in the ring with a clipboard and a microphone.

Grisham: It is my honor at this time to introduce one of the top stars in Central States Wrestling and the World round, Masato Tanaka!

Tanaka comes to the ring, dressed casually. He steps in and shakes Todd Grisham’s hand.

Grisham: Now, ladies and gentlemen, and Mr. Tanaka, if you would turn your attention to the video screen, for a very special message from The Professor, Mike Tenay!

Tenay: Thank you Todd. My name is Mike Tenay, and I am coming to you right now via prerecorded message from Japan. As you may recently now, NWA: Japan had to make the unfortunate decision to suspend one of its athletes, Masahiro Chono, from the NWA: Japan Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Due to this, it is my honor to announce at this time, that NWA: Japan is extending this Open Invitation Contract to Masato Tanaka of NWA: Central States, to be an entrant into the tournament. Mr. Tanaka, you are obviously an established superstars in the States, as well as in Japan, and it would be our honor if you would join us in our tournament to crown the NWA Japan Heavyweight Champion. Mr. Grisham has the open contract for your first round match next week, just sign on the dotted line. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing you in action next week!

With that, Grisham pulls a pen from his coat pocket and along with the clipboard, hands it to Tanaka. Tanaka flips up one page of the contract, but wait, Samoa Joe just slid into the ring behind Tanaka. I don’t think Tanaka even sees him. Tanaka puts the pen to the paper, but Joe grabs him from behind in a half-nelson, and takes him backwards with a half-nelson suplex, right on the head. Grisham quickly runs from the ring. Joe looks at Tanaka, prone on the mat, and turns his attention to the contract lying in the ring. Joe picks it up, flips the page, and SIGNS THE CONTRACT! He tosses it to Grisham, and is leaving the arena!

(74)

Styles: What the hell just happened here? Is Samoa Joe headed to Japan next week to compete in the NWA Japan Heavyweight Championship Tournament? Whatever happens, fans, I've just been informed that as a concession for the use of Tanaka, or Joe, or WHOEVER is headed over to Japan next week, NWA Central States will have it's own visitor from the Far East next week. Officially entered into Battlebowl will be one of the hottest young talents in Japan: CIMA!

CSW Tag Team Title Match: Mexicools © v Natural Born Thrillers
Joey Style says he has just been given an announcement that the winners of this match, the CSW Tag Team Champions will NOT be in Battlebowl but that the losing team will in fact be entered. The CSW Tag Team Champions head to the ring with their titles in hand. They look celebratory as usual, but very focused on tonight’s matchup. The Natural Born Thrillers are out next, and the 2 physical specimens make their way to the ring, looking like all business. The referee informs all 4 men that the CSW Tag Team Titles hang in the balance, and gives them their pre-match instructions. Great matchup from the get go with Mark Jindrak pairing off with Psicosis to open up. Psicosis used his speed on Jindrak, nailing an early headscissors takedown that sent Jindrak sliding under the bottom rope to the outside. O’Haire dropped down to re-convene with his partner. Jindrak slid back in and this time managed to overpower Psicosis and turn the match in the favor of the Thrillers. At the 5 minute mark, O’Haire and Super Crazy ended up in the ring, and Crazy attempted an Ocean Cyclone Bulldog. O’Haire was one step ahead, and used his momentum, swinging Crazy back and dropping him with a german suplex. O’Haire went for the cover, but Crazy kicked out, sending O’Haire rolling to the outside. Crazy nailed a dropkick on Jindrak, dropping him down by his partner on the floor. Psicosis then entered the ring, and the Mexicools bounced off the ropes and dove simultaneously over the top rope, crashing onto the Thrillers at ringside. The Mexicools rolled the Thrillers into the ring and ascended opposite turnbuckles. Super Crazy launched off with a Moonsault while Psicosis tried a legdrop, but both missed! All 4 men slowly got to their feet, and Mark Jindrak ducked a Psicosis crossbody, sending him sprawling to the outside. Jindrak then slighshotted himself over the top onto Psicosis. Super Crazy grabbed O’Haire for a brainbuster, but O’haire reversed it, taking Crazy up instead, and dropping him forward into a version of the Michinoku driver. Crazy barely kicked out. O’Haire’s nostrils were flaming as he grabbed Crazy and set him up for a powerbomb. He then powerbombed Crazy right into the turnbuckle, leaving Crazy prone on his hand and knee’s near the turnbuckle. Jindrak rifled Psicosis into the steel steps, as O’Haire bounced off the ropes. With a head full of steam he ran Crazy over with a Shining Wizard to the temple!! I think Crazy is knocked out. O’Haire rolls over on top of him. 1....2.....3! NEW Tag Champs!!

Thrillers defeat Mexicools by pinfall in 12:34 to become CSW Tag Team Champion. (84/73/96)
Post-Match: Mark Jindrak grabs the title belts and slides into the ring, handing one to O’Haire. O’Haire looks down at Crazy, unconscious on the mat. The Thrillers exchange a look and drop their titles as Jindrak goes to the outside and retrieves Psicosis. Back in the ring, Jindrak throws Psicosis off the ropes and nails him with a huge powerslam. He then holds Psicosis in place as O’Haire bounces off the ropes and flattens Psicosis with the Shining Wizard as well, sending him sprawling into the ropes.

Styles: The Natural Born Thrillers are the new CSW Tag Team Champions, and boy did they leave their mark here tonight on the Mexicools. Impressive win from these two, and Sean O’Haire has obviously picked up a few things in his time away from the wrestling ring. What a beast!

Video Package: Here Comes The Pain!
As the fans come down from the high of the last match, a video package flashes over the video screen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc8_4rSyNLI...=brock%20lesnar

The crowd roars to a frenzy, and the final words burn into the screen before fading away:

Brock Lesnar
Central States Wrestling
Battlebowl....

(81)

In-Ring Segment: A humbled Champion.
CSW Champion Jeff Jarrett makes his way to the ring as the fans applaud him. Jarrett is smiling, yet seems slightly emotional still from his win.

Jarrett: You know. Over the last few years, hell, the last 10 years, I’ve been a real pain in alot of people’s asses. I was happy sure, cause I was on top. But I think there came a time, when I was just going through the motions. I forgot all about why I do what I do. I’d become so concerned with the backstage politics, with the games, with the spotlight, that I forgot all about what this is: wrestling. I’d forgotten what it was I loved about wrestling. And then in one simple moment, that all came back to me. When I won my first round matchup in the CSW Title Tournament, and I looked up at the big screen over there, and I saw that picture on the bracket...something clicked. Owen. Owen Hart emboddied everything good about this business, even though every time you got to see him on TV, he was being a sneaky little bastard and doing some devious act. But god he had fun doing it. And god did he love it. Seeing Owen’s picture, with that joy on his face, just made me long for it again. (The crowd breaks into a “Thank You Owen” chant) It made me think of Memphis. Wrestling with my daddy and with Eddie Gilbert and Jerry Lawler. It made me remember breaking in to the World Wrestling Federation. Even though I was J-E-Double F, I still loved every minute of it. And even WCW. People want you to think it was all a train wreck, but my time with Ric Flair and the 4 Horsemen was one of the best of my life. Why? Because I was doing what I loved to do. Sometime between May 23 1999, and May 23, 2006, that feeling left me. But boy am I glad I found it again. Triple H, something you said at Blaze of Glory really stuck with me. You told me that there would be no hard feelings, cause this is all about business. Well a year ago, I would’ve nodded my head, agreed with you, and probably gone out there and lost my match. But at Blaze of Glory, I discovered something: you’re wrong! This is about more than business. It’s about HEART! And now that I rediscovered that, I wish anyone on this roster the best of luck at prying this title away from me, because I will refuse to let go. Shelton Benjamin, I know you have heart. I saw it in the ring this past Tuesday. But right now I’m gonna go sit down with Joey Styles and Tazz, and see who I’m going to be defending this title against at Redemption. Good luck to you, men.

Main Event: #1 Contender for the CSW Championship at Redemption:
Triple H v Shelton Benjamin

Styles announces that the loser of this match will be entered into Battlebowl while the new #1 Contender, and CSW Championship Jeff Jarrett, along with the Tag Team Champions, will NOT be in Battlebowl. Triple H and Shelton Benjamin stare down in the middle of the ring. Having just recently fought for the highest of prizes, and now knowing they could have another shot at it, both men just stare emotionless into each other’s eyes. Benjamin broke the staredown with a hard right hand, which was immediately reciprocated by Triple H. Back and forth punches and action from these two, until Triple H scored with a high knee, knocking Benjamin to the mat. At the 5 minute mark, Triple H turned his attention to Shelton Benjamin’s knees, trying to cut down one of the best athletes in CSW today. He slapped on a spinning toe-hold, repeatedly tweaking Benjamin’s knee, trying to slow him down. Benjamin caught him with a small package out of nowhere, making Triple H rethink his strategy. Benjamin then took control, fighting back with a flurry of punches and nailing a huge splash in the corner at the 7 minute mark. Benjamin lifted himself to the middle rope, and came down with a bulldog on Triple H for another near fall. Benjamin headed to the outside of the ring, where he springboarded off the top rope, into the ring and nailed a dropkick on Triple H. Another near fall for Benjamin. He lifted Triple H, whipping him into the ropes. Benjamin ducked his head for a back bodydrop, but Triple H nailed a facesmash over his knee. Triple H charged at Benjamin, who grabbed him around the head. Look like the T-bone suplex! He hits it! 1......2......Almost a 3 count for Benjamin. He looks stunned. At the 9 minute mark now, as Benjamin waits for Triple H to get to his feet. Look like he is gonna try to finish him off. Kick to the stomach. Benjamin is going for the Pedigree on Triple H! But wait, Triple H backdrops Benjamin, but Shelton holds on, and Shelton’s shoulders are pinned to the mat with Triple H laying on top of him. 2 count, but Shelton bridges up, showing amazing athleticism, and spins under Triple H’s arms, wanting to hook a backslide. Benjamin misses Triple H’s arm, leaving himself exposed, where he takes a hard kick to the stomach, and a Pedigree. 1.....2.....3!

Triple H defeats Shelton Benjamin by pinfall in 10:05 to become the #1 Contender to the CSW Championship at Redemption. (77/74/75)
Post-Match: Triple H walks to the side of the ring with the announcer’s table and leans over the top rope, staring a hole into Jeff Jarrett and his CSW Championship. Jarrett stands up from his seated position and holds the title high in the air, smiling as the broadcast fades away.

Styles: Triple H is the #1 Contender! Triple H and Jeff Jarrett go one on one at Redemption for the CSW Championship, and Battlebowl begins right here next week to crown the first Kansas City Border Champion! We’re out of time! Join us next week, LIVE on Cyclone!

Good show Mad Dog. Glad to see you breaking out the match ratings, I appreciate it. Your title tourney is moving along nicely, although I was a bit bummed knowing that Mistico ripped his knee off. Too bad on that one.

Any big shows coming up?

And I noticed it said 5/13.....but that was your show for the 27th, right?

Mad Dog - May 14, 2006 07:45 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I just labelled it to go with the actual date.

Damian 666 and Charly Manson's match really blew me away. Neither of them are really that great except that Manson has an 81 in speed. They got by solely on chemistry.

Yeah, losing Mistico sucks because I was really hoping to build him up as a star.

jamiegeist - May 14, 2006 09:29 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I was impressed by their high match quality as well.

MATCH #1: Onyx vs. Jimmy Jacobs (Joined in Progress)

Joey Styles: Welcome to Midwest Saturday Night, I'm Joey Styles joined by Jimmy Bauer. We were supposed to start this match in just a moment, but Onyx got a little impatient.
Jimmy Bauer: A little?
Joey Styles: Well...

Onyx throws Jacobs into the corner, and then follows with a high knee right to Jimmy's chest.

Joey Styles: WOW!!! That had to hurt.

Onyx throws some "bows" at Jacobs.

Jimmy Bauer: Jacobs was straight blindsided, and it looks like it.

Onyx clobbers Jacobs and finishes off the match with the "Pistol Whip."

Joey Styles: Thankfully for Jimmy Jacobs this match is over

WINNER: Onyx (62/42/83)

After the match, Onyx grabs the mic

Onyx: Anybody that thinks they can top that, they can come in this ring right now, and I'll kick their ass.

Homicide's music hits, and the Notorious 187 steps through the curtain.

Homicide: You think that what you just did was impressive? **Shakes his head** Naaah. I'll show you impressive.

Homicide runs to the ring and feigns sliding in the ring. When Onyx runs up to stomp him, Homicide pulls Onyx outside the ring. Homicide kicks him HARD several times. Onyx starts to stumble away, and Homicide pulls out A FORK.

Joey Styles: OH MY GOD!!! Who does he think he is?? Abdullah the Butcher???

Homicide walks up and starts to jab Onyx with THE FORK. It's about this time that Jerry Lynn runs out.

Joey Styles: HERE COMES JERRY LYNN!!!
Jimmy Bauer: What is he doing?

Lynn comes down and chases off Homicide. He stands between Homicide and Onyx. Homicide taunts him.

Jimmy Bauer: Lynn needs to save what energy he has for tonight.
Joey Styles: This could be part of the mind games by Homicide...

Jerry Lynn turns to check on Onyx, who delivers a NASTY low blow.

Joey Styles: Did I just see what I think I've seen???

Homicide and Onyx both start stomping on Lynn together.

Jimmy Bauer: It's smart planning Joey...
Joey Styles: That's dispicable... Just dispicable. Let's go backstage...

BACKSTAGE...

CM Punk: HOW? That's what I've heard all week. HOW, CM PUNK? How are you better than me?
And every single person that asked me that question had the same look in their eyes. It's a look that said "I want to be the person that proves you wrong." Because you all want to be special. But you're not. You're all the same. I-****ING-DENTICAL.
What makes me better than you? The fact that I never have to ask that question. When the rest of you cower under the pretense that your friends would like you more if you acted like them, I set my self apart. I say no. And I don't mumble it. I tattooed it on my body so they will never ask again. Because I want them to know who I was and where I stood.
I've got the guts to stand up for myself. To stand up for what I believe in, when the rest of you tremble in fear.
I am CM Punk. And I am better than you. (80)
::COMMERCIAL::

Joey Styles: Welcome back to Saturday Night on the Superstation here at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, Illinois.
Jimmy Bauer: What a night we've had already.
Joey Styles: You can say that again....I can't believe Onyx turned his back on Jerry Lynn!
Jimmy Bauer: Onyx turned his back? That would imply that he was on Jerry Lynn's side to start with.
Joey Styles: Let's hope it doesn't hamper Lynn's performance later tonight.

MATCH #2: Chair Swinging Freaks vs. Blackout

Joey Styles: We've seen both of these teams in recent weeks, and this match is going to be nothing less than a clash of styles.

Murder One starts out with Axl Rotten. Murder One tries some actual wrestling, but Axl has none of it. He tries to start brawling. Surprisingly, Murder One brawls back with him. Rotten seems a little surprised, and tags in Balls. Mahoney, that is.

Joey Styles: Here comes Balls!!
Jimmy Bauer: You really like Balls, don't you?
Joey Styles: I LOVE Balls. Wait a minute....

Mahoney takes Murder One and plays with him, including a "WHOA BALLS" punching spot. Murder One finally gets to where he doesn't want to play with Balls anymore, and tags in Kory Chavis. Chavis grabs Balls, and throws him into the corner. There he punches Balls repeatedly before kicking Balls.

Joey Styles: Balls Mahoney is in trouble!
Jimmy Bauer: Balls needs help!

Chavis throws Balls into the corner, where Balls is double teamed. Murder One grabs Balls, while Chavis stomps on Balls.

Joey Styles: Oh, this is fair.

Axl steps between the ropes and stands in his corner. The ref, of course, does not see him. Axl charges and squashes Chavis and Balls, and knocks Murder One off the apron. Balls falls on Chavis, and Axl rolls out of the ring. The ref counts to three.

WINNERS: Chair Swinging Freaks (61/43/79)

Joey Styles: For once, I'm speechless. That was some creative thinking by Axl Rotten.
Jimmy Bauer: It was a Rotten move, that's for sure.
Joey Styles: Oh my god. Let's go backstage...

BACKSTAGE

Onyx and Homicide are with Josh Matthews.

Josh Matthews: We all saw what happened earlier tonight, so let's just ask the question on everyone's mind. How long have you two been working together?
Homicide: How long? We've been working together since day one.
Onyx: That's right. The second I walked in the locker room here at NWA Midwest, I knew that Homicide was one of the peoples that I had to check out.
Josh Matthews: So you're telling me you two were working together even before the three way match that Homicide broke up?
Homicide You are smarter than you look, Matthews. Listen, we both knew right off tha bat that Jerry Lynn was target #1. The man walked in the door like he ran the place, and before I could say anything, Onyx was in my ear and we had a plan.
Onyx: Word. The two of us are gonna take this place over. (60)

Joey Styles: Can you believe that, Bauer?
Jimmy Bauer: Of course I can. I knew it all along.
Joey Styles: What?
Jimmy Bauer: What can I say Joey, I'm a smart man.
Joey Styles: Is that why you bought a ticket the last couple of weeks?
Jimmy Bauer: Joey, we have a match to call...

MATCH #3: Raven vs. Monty Brown

Joey Styles: Both of these men lost in the first round of the NWA Midwestern Championship Tournament to the men who will sign a contract later on tonight...
Jimmy Bauer: So they both lost to the finalists?
Joey Styles: That's right, Monty Brown lost to William Regal and Raven lost to Batista. Both in the first round.
Jimmy Bauer: So there both losers?
Joey Styles: How old are you? Really?

Raven and Monty lock up. Raven gets the first advantage thanks to some basic brawling. Raven leads Brown out of the ring.

Joey Styles: Raven is not wasting any time getting outside the ring.

Raven uses a Russian Legsweep on Brown into the railing. He then throws Brown into the stairs. He follows that by charging into the stairs and running knee first into Brown's chest.

Jimmy Bauer: He's not going easy on Brown.
Joey Styles: That's for sure....

Raven picks up Brown and suplexes him onto the mat. Raven picks up Brown and throws him into the apron. He tries again, but Brown reverses.

Joey Styles: REVERSAL BY BROWN!

Brown slowly crawls into the ring. He stumbles and holds his back. Raven crawls in after him. Brown throws Raven into the ropes and goes for the POOUUNNCE... But Raven held onto the ropes and Monty is laying on the mat.

Joey Styles: Brown leaping before he looks..

Raven stomps on Brown and then applies the Camel Clutch.

Joey Styles: The Camel Clutch???

WINNER: Raven (77/78/75)

Raven stumbles up the walkway. As soon as hit gets to the curtain, there is a loud noise, and Raven is laid out.

Jimmy Bauer: That sounded like a chairshot, Joey.
Joey Styles: Who would attack Raven like that???
::COMMERCIALS!!!::

Chris Benoit is sitting in a dark room watching a video of last week's Main Event.

Chris Benoit: I was so close. Soooo close.

The video plays Benoit repeatedly headbutting Regal.

Chris Benoit: I was ready to finish the match. Ready for the Crossface...

The video shows Regal pulling Benoit into the stairs

Chris Benoit: Not even that would stop me. It was just a distraction.

The video shows Alfonso jumping over the rail and blowing the whistle in Benoit's ear.

Chris Benoit: And Bill Alfonso ruined my chances.

The video is paused.

Chris Benoit: Because of Bill Alfonso, I couldn't hear the ref count. Because of Bill Alfonso, I couldn'get my shoulder up in time. BECAUSE OF BILL ALFONSO, I will NOT be wrestling for the NWA Midwestern Championship at Summer Glory. BECAUSE OF BILL ALFONSO!!!

Next week, Alfonso, I've already got the match signed. Me versus You. Man to man. And I'm going to shove that whistle so far up your ass, you could floss with the lanyard. (77)

Joey Styles: Benoit is not a happy man.
Jimmy Bauer: I hope Bill Alfonso's been working out.
Joey Styles: I don't know if Bill Alfonso has EVER worked out.

MATCH #4: Jerry Lynn vs. Homicide

Joey Styles: It's time for the match we've been waiting all night for, Jimmy.
Jimmy Bauer: That's right, Styles. Homicide will prove his dominance over the X Division.

Lynn & Homicide stare across the ring at each other. Onyx is outside, and Lynn requests that Onyx be removed, the ref tells Jerry that Onyx has yet to give reason for removal. Lynn waves at the entranceway.

Jimmy Bauer: What is he waving at?

The Briscoe Brothers walk down the rampway.

Joey Styles: Insurance!

Onyx throws a fit at ringside, but Homicide is still focused on Lynn. The two lock up. Homicide thinks he's got Lynn with an arm wrench, but Lynn flips out of it. Homicide tries a lariat, and Lynn ducks. Lynn springboards off the ropes with a dropkick. Homicide rolls out of the ring.

Joey Styles: Jerry Lynn has done his homework!

Homicide is p-i-s-s-e-d. He crawls back into the ring and *gasp* wrestles with Jerry Lynn. The two do a good job of balancing offense, allowing both men to strut their stuff in front of the fans. After a series of moves ending in an "indy applause stance," Homicide leaves the ring to discuss things with Onyx.

Jimmy Bauer: They're discussing strategy, swapping notes....

Jerry Lynn comes off the turnbuckle with a wicked cross body splash.

Joey Styles: Jerry Lynn just delivered a note of his own!

Lynn throws Homicide back in the ring. He springboards over the top rope and delivers a leg drop onto the back of Homicide's head. He runs off the ropes. Homicide pulls himself up just in time to get a dropkick to the head by Lynn. Lynn pulls Homicide to his feet.

Joey Styles: This doesn't look good for Homicide..

Lynn goes for a kick to the stomach. Homicide catches it. He looks at Lynn and shakes his head as if to say "Not this time," which allows Lynn to hit the enziguiri. Homicide stumbles, holding his head, which allows Lynn to set up....

Joey Styles: THE CRADLE PILEDRIVER!!!!

Lynn covers Homicide 1-2-3

WINNER: Jerry Lynn (73/67/79)

Lynn leans over Homicide, who is opening his eyes. The ref grabs his hand and Lynn says "Watch this" as the ref raises his arm in victory. Lynn then pulls Homicide to his feet and offers a handshake. Homicide shakes his head and walks away.

::COMMERCIALS AGAIN!::

CONTRACT SIGNING!!!

Joey Styles: Ladies and Gentlemen, you're about to witness a NWA Midwest first.
Jimmy Bauer: You're gonna get a date?
Joey Styles: I'm married! I go out with my wife all the time, and I don't know why I'm defending myself to you. The NWA Midwest first is the contract signing to solidify the bout that will determine the FIRST NWA Midwestern Champion.
Jimmy Bauer: I already know who's gonna win, Joey.
Joey Styles: HOW? WHO?
Jimmy Bauer: Regal. Or Batista.
Joey Styles: Oh My God.

Regal and Batista both sit at a table. Josh Matthews hands William Regal the contract. Regal looks it over and sets it down. He looks at Batista, and then looks at the contract. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. He finally picks up a pen with his left hand and signs the contract. He then hands it to Batista.

Joey Styles: This is going way too smooth....

Batista looks at the contract. He looks at Josh Matthews and asks him a question. Josh shrugs. Batista looks at Regal, then picks up the pen and signs it.

Jimmy Bauer: We've got our match, Joey!

Regal stands up, and Batista follows suit. The two men shake hands and Regal steps out of the ring. Batista looks at Josh Matthews and shrugs. He looks to be in a good mood. Behind him, two men jump out of the crowd and rush the ring.

Joey Styles: THE BRITISH ARE COMING!!!

Batista turns around in time to get clobbered by Nigel McGuinness and Paul Burchill. They beat on the big man.

Joey Styles: I knew this went too smooth,

Regal stands at the top of the walkway, smiling. The two men in the ring hit "England Prevails" and leave. The three of them stand at the top of the walkway as the crowd boos... (77)

Sweeeeeet, an England stable.

The Benoit segment was really smooth and good as well, as was all of the Lynn-Homicide-Onyx interaction.

A great show overall. Your banter back and forth between Styles and Bauer is really great at times. I don't know what you need to do to make it easier on yourself, but it came off as a great read. Myabe just cutting down the announcer cut-ins during matches. That could help out.

Good show though, I'm getting excited for your supershow.

Big F'N Swigg - May 15, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
I really like the commentator banter, but it doubles the length of the show, and the time it takes to make it. I'm gonna try this week to trim it down some.

I'm also gonna try and find a better visual format too. That's part of why I want to trim down the commentating as well. It makes it less visually coherent

Your headings make nice seperators though, visually. But yeah, trimming down the commentary would certainly help.

And trimming down the balls jokes might too :)

smKelly is MIA, and will be possibly for a bit. I suggest we wait as long as we can, but go ahead and move on. If he doesnt re-appear online before NWA Great American Bash, we'll do something about it.

And DK said his results are coming.

You could do some kind of rumour about NWA: PTL and why they aren't on TV right now, or somehting.

Scrooge McSuck - May 15, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
I haven't followed PTL at all yet, so thanks for the tip. I'm just finishing up on my Rumors portion on NEW, since I've only been in contact with Rowe recently. I guarantee you'll be surprised by some of the things he's considered to do... especially to the other promoters.

Video plays.....

QUOTE

DM: WOW, that was amazing.

Tenay: It sure was, and we will have more on that next week.....see you then!!!!!!

thanks.......this is probably the first show I've done with a lot of "no finishes" so I was wondering how it was going to come out....

Really looking forward to KENTA/Marafuji....or will Liger be involved?

I'd say the NWA: Japan Committee has alot of work on their hands this week, with tons of shenanigans from all the guys in NWA: Japan.

I got a little confused in the last few matches, without intros. Were those NWA Japan Tournament Matches? Just wondering where the little bit of intro commentary went there.

Oh, and the Chono stuff is badass.

For the record.......no NWA Japan heavyweight title tournament matches have occured yet. I would have done more intro stuff, but I didn't have the time. next weeks will be MUCH better to make up for it.

Glad you dig the Chono stuff, it's gonna get better too.

jamiegeist - May 17, 2006 08:32 PM (GMT)
It's all good, just wanted to make sure I was keeping up. I know I could've just looked back at the brackets, but shit, I got lazy.

Thanks for clearing it up though, and nice use of the Central States video feed.
