I was thinking maybe we should decide on a forum to sticky note a thread where new posters could introduce themselves.

Sounds like a good idea, incase the person signs up under a name no one knows (like someone from the board-with-no-name) and then someone (like me for example) accidentally insults the person... OK, that's just being two-faced, but it saves the embarrassment.
So, General Discussion or Flame Wars? It's up to you guys...
General Discussion seems better fit. Flame Wars is a TSM decision to insult the "newbies".
How about stupid bullshit. That pretty much describes all the stuff in folders like such.
