Title: RSS feeds

eStragand - May 4, 2006 04:48 AM (GMT)
Do any of you guys use subscribe to RSS feeds for your favorite websites? I just stupidly figured out how to easily add them in Firefox. Before I'd been using "My Yahoo" to gather all of 'em.

Anyways, I've had one available for my website for a few months now. But I recently added code to make RSS subscription easier. You can add it by hitting my site and clicking the "Add Live Bookmark" link in the address bar. If you use My Yahoo or some other RSS gaterhing tool, you can manually enter this string:
http://www.estragand.com/eStragand.xml

For those who wonder what the hell I'm talking about...sometimes you'll hit a site and it'll have an "XML" or "RSS" link-- or sometimes a cool little orange radiating icon in the URL bar. The idea is that you'll subscribe to these and it'll keep you informed of news and updates from that site.

What is My Yahoo?

It's your customized Yahoo page. If you have an Yahoo ID, just jump to my.yahoo.com and it'll walk you through. You can pick out the news, scores and info that interests you.

You can also add search queries that list newly added articles about your areas of interest. So...for instance, let's say you always search for "Linda MaMahon Upskirt shots"... you could save that search, and new results would be listed as they are published. You can add blog RSS feeds and have them listed, as well.

I log into mine and I have the latest stories from the Onion, world news, the Broncos and Pirates displayed. Scores, weather and all that shit, too. Plus I have some search queries that I monitor for SEO purposes.
