Title: What was your first comic

Pretty easy topic. What's the first comic you remember having. I'm going to go dig up covers and post the first 3 issues I remember owning.

First one I distinctly remember owning was the Hal Jordan Funeral Issue of GL, with the really cool foil cover in the shape of his emblem. That issue more than any other was what embedded GL as my faveourite hero. I don't know why, but there was just something so cool about the whole thing, even though it was a funeral issue, and I had no idea who for or why everyone loved him so much.

There's a couple of Uncle Scrooge comics that I'm looking for covers for.

Hmm...

Trying to remember.... the furthest back I can think of is some sort of Spider-Man comic. Something about Peter Parker going on trial for something.

As for digests, I still have my first. It was a TMNT "Classics Digest". It featured a story about Krang being rescued from banishment to some weird galaxy by Slash and some weird character called Bellybomb. Also featured some crappy "continuation story" featuring April and Splinter. The highspot was seeing a japanese dude naked in an alley. RAPE!~!

Edit: Oh yeah, I also had Warrior's 1st comic. It came with an issue of WWF Magazine. :P

I also remember buying all but the last issue of Zero Hour, and thinking it was REALLY REALLY COOL for counting backwards.

Mine was either The Punisher, X-Men, Spiderman or Incredible Hulk.

But the one's I remember most were Transformers

A few different "firsts" for me, since I would mooch off of my big brother. I remember these two being some of the first he read to me:

- Star Wars # 7

My first comic that I can remember was Uncanny X-Men #302. It was the funeral of Illyana Rasputin, and Magneto and the Acolytes crashed the affair.

Yow...all y'all make me feel OLD. I remember reading Zero Hour and X-men circa #300 when I was a college sophmore and thinking "damn..this might be someone's first comic and they'll be nostalgic for this stuff in 10 years". I used to stop at this store on my tortilla route and I remember seeing some newbie 8 year olds picking up Zero Hour and a Milestone/Superman crossover. (FWIW, this store was just down the street from the infamous Columbine High School).

And hey, Swigg and Mad Dog...there's a Transformers question in tomorrow's Marvel trivia! I think it's fairly easy, so I'll rag you for 2 weeks if you miss it.

I've mentioned it before but I got the entire Zero Hour run in some multi-pack thing Sam's Club used to have.
