Yeah, I really want to see Lockdown. I wish TNA would be more consistent with their DVD releases, as they released Genesis (good show, but complete throwaway ppv) in retail stores, but we're still waiting for others.
Then again, what's the Dynamite Video offer for Lockdown?
dynamite kido - April 25, 2006 09:09 PM (GMT)
Better than any store that's for sure. Check your PM's.

JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER VS. PETEY WILLIAMS AT “SACRIFICE”
TNAwrestling.com has learned a new match has been signed for the upcoming May 14 TNA “Sacrifice” Pay-Per-View epic event.
In a World X Cup bout, wrestling legend and Team Japan captain Jushin “Thunder” Liger returns to TNA to face off against Team Canada’s Petey Williams in a singles bout to be featured on the Pay-Per-View event.
The Japanese legend last competed at the “Bound For Glory” Pay-Per-View against “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe. Since that bout, fans have eagerly awaited the TNA return of the New Japan Pro Wrestling star.
In addition to the Liger vs. Williams bout, the finals of the World X Cup will take place at “Sacrifice”, as every international star will compete in a Gauntlet Match to determine final point standings. Two stars will begin the bout based on luck of the draw in this elimination-style gauntlet until one wrestler stands victorious.
Tune into “IMPACT!” this Thursday night on SpikeTV for more news about the Sunday, May 14 “Sacrifice” Pay-Per-View epic event!
The current lineup for Sacrifice is below. More matches will be added this Thursday night:
FULL METAL MAYHEM For The NWA World Heavyweight Title Christian Cage vs. The Monster Abyss
WHO WILL BE STING’S PARTNER? Sting and A Mystery Partner vs. Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: America’s Most Wanted vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels (Gail Kim and Jackie barred from ringside)
WORLD X CUP MATCH: Jushin “Thunder” Liger vs. Petey Williams

Big F'N Swigg - May 6, 2006 06:24 PM (GMT)
I wish they would do the World X Cup stuff at Destination X
Scrooge McSuck - May 6, 2006 07:17 PM (GMT)
Big F'N Swigg - May 6, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
Because then the title Destination X would make some sense
Scrooge McSuck - May 6, 2006 08:20 PM (GMT)
It shouldn't matter what the name of the PPV is. You can call it "Fucker McFuckfest" but if it's a good show, it's a good show. :)
SamoaRowe - May 7, 2006 02:49 AM (GMT)
Supposedly, Jushin Liger vs Petey Williams has been added.

Nope, I sure didn't.
prof_plague - May 14, 2006 07:50 PM (GMT)
And Joe is Sting's mystery partner. Sting and Joe sound good, Jarrett and Steiner don't.
Real F'n Show - May 14, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
Probably won't order this one, nothing really peaks my interest. They couldn't find a better opponent for Liger than Petey Williams?
dynamite kido - May 14, 2006 10:49 PM (GMT)
I be having all your hookups if you want this bad boy.........
whitemilesdavis - May 15, 2006 01:07 AM (GMT)
You'll also have to tell me if I want this bad boy.
jamiegeist - May 15, 2006 03:05 AM (GMT)
Well, reading a show report, it sounds like a horrible clusterfuck of a show, along with technical problems, that eventually came around, as Joe/Sting v Jarrett/Steiner sounds awesome and seems to have somehow done everything right for a change.
Hopefully the Jarrett-haters can let go of this evil-Jarrett idea, as Joe pinned him clean with the Musclebuster. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on this match, as Joe was said to be mad over from the first minute.
Amazingly, TNA may have done something right. Although it is 10:04 and I haven't read Cage/Abyss yet. Hopefully they didn't run out of time.
Scrooge McSuck - May 15, 2006 03:08 AM (GMT)
Not to start an argument, but it's kind of hard to generate a level of "overness" when you wrestle in front of the same 800 hicks every week, the same ones who cheered Lance Hoyt.
And I heard from others who saw the PPV that it was hit and miss for the most part, and they had some technical fuck-ups as mentioned.
jamiegeist - May 15, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
Would you argue that Joe isn't over with the Million or so people that watch Impact! that aren't the 800 hicks in attendance?
Scrooge McSuck - May 15, 2006 03:16 AM (GMT)
No, because ratings mean nothing. How do I know that amazing 0.9 rating isn't because of 50 year olds from memphis that love Jeff Jarrett, or the Scott Steiner Fan Club?
Unless you have physical evidence of everyone that watched Impact on a given week, using the "ratings" card doesn't really work.
jamiegeist - May 15, 2006 03:19 AM (GMT)
Dammit Scrooge. Now you're using my argument from like a month ago. You no good bastard!!!
whitemilesdavis - May 15, 2006 11:51 AM (GMT)
It could easily be argued that the vast majority of TNA fans are online, and Joe is obviously over with the internet fan.
dynamite kido - May 15, 2006 01:19 PM (GMT)
Thoughts on the pay per view......
The Petey/Liger opener was really solid................but technical problems occured during the finish............which was shown later in the PPV and it was a really solid opener. Nothing over the top good here, but the match was a good one.
Rating - **1/4
Second they went with AJ/Daniels vs. AMW for the tag titles and this was probably what I would consider the match of the night or at the very least one of the best. Solid work from both teams and some really good stuff from AJ/Daniels. They had Gail drop the nightstick from the ceiling (the chicks were barred from ringside) and AMW used it to get the victory. So I'm sure these two teams will be mixing it up again.
Rating - ***1/2
Third on the card would easily be the worst match of the night in A1 vs. Raven. If you missed the match, you should be happy. The best part about it was Raven's evenflow DDT.
Rating - 1/4*
Fourth on the card was Bobby Roode vs. Rhino in a pretty good match. Going into it I was worried about these two being able to matchup and they had no issues. Roode did really well here matching up with Rhino and they both worked well together. Rhino hit his usual stuff and Roode was build up as a bit of a powerhouse and eventually got the win with Scotty D's help (distracting Rhino) and hitting the Northern Lariot. Looks like another feud that's not over yet....

Next we had the "former" New Age Outlaws in the James Gang taking on the "former" team of the Dudley Boyz knows as Team 3D in a battle of "Who was the better team in the WWE" feud. Yay. Nothing special here as the Raven/A1 match made sure this wasn't the worst match of the show.
Rating - *1/4
X-Cup Gauntlet - There's really not much to say here. It's like all the other TNA gauntlets, they hit cool spots, Liger got eliminated WAAAAAAAAAY too early, Petey won, etc etc. Oh, and Nash came down and destroyed Puma after the match was over.
Rating - **1/2
Now it was time for the dream partner tag match with Jarrett/Steiner vs. Sting/Joe. I was really curious to see how Joe was going to come off in this match and I must say................I was impressed. First off, the crowd reacted the way they needed to for Joe to make him look like a star in there with Sting/Jarrett/Steiner instead of a guy that they were despirately trying to get over or just a throw in guy. They booked Joe strongly in the match throwing down with Steiner and PINNING Jarrett. Now, I usually don't go all nuts when TNA does what it's suppost to.........but they KNOW what they are doing with Joe. Good for them, they aren't wasting a HUGE opportunity for themselves. Oh, and this match was REALLY solid....
Rating - ***
Now it was Main Event time with Christian vs. Abyss Full Metal Mayhem. They really did what they could to give this match the "main event feel" and it delievered for the most part. One thing that I'll definately say about Christian is that you can really tell that he loves wrestling in TNA. He has a hell of a lot more fire in him than he did in the WWE (at least after he realized that the WWE wasn't going to push him beyond a certain point and he became unmotivated.) and Abyss is a GREAT opponent for him. This was what you'd expect out of these two (both guys killing each other, thumbtacks, tables, ladders, etc etc) and although I was a bit dissappointed in the match, it was still good. I'm thinking that this feud might finally be over and that the both of them are higher up in stature because of it. Say what you want about TNA, but they've done a really good job with Christian/Abyss's feud. Christian looks more like a legit champion and Abyss isn't hurt at all by the fact that he's lost the feud. Hell, Abyss lost his last TWO feuds and it hasn't hurt him one bit. Oh, and Christian retains....
Rating ***1/4

You can currently see the end to the Liger-Williams match, and then some at TNAWrestling.com. I think the "And then some" was an accident, honestly. Because it looks like a lot of the PPV
EDIT: Nope, just kidding. The Youtube just makes it look like a lot
