Title: What, no V for Vendetta thread?

Great movie. I'm still waiting for Amazon to ship the graphic novel, but I thought it was made really well. Weaving was just awesome under the mask, and c'mon, it's Natalie Portman. Very good flick.

The movie would be even better if it didn't have such a sucky name. "V for Vendetta?" Come on...

The Last Free Voice - April 21, 2006 02:14 PM (GMT)
Please, explain how a different name would have made the movie better.

Scrooge McSuck - April 21, 2006 02:22 PM (GMT)
I lied, but a catchy name makes a movie far more memorable in the long run.

Big F'N Swigg - April 21, 2006 02:32 PM (GMT)
I think the name is memorable.

And I know it's comics blasphemy, but I did like the adaptation. It wasn't a direct port of the comics, but man was that movie good

I've proven countless times I'm very shallow and a nit-picker foir minor details, so it's best to pretend I don't say anything in these cases.

Go ahead, man. I like arguments over details. Esepcially when someone has a sense of humor about it

Scrooge, I'm still waiting to see what you have to say about it

Scrooge McSuck - May 6, 2006 10:47 PM (GMT)
I got nothing. :P

Turd

I don't have anything because it's hard to phrase. I feel a great movie needs an equally good title to compliment it to put it in an elite club of great movies.

Big F'N Swigg - May 7, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
I understand. I'm sure the studio fought for a better title. I'm glad it kept the original title, though. It's respectful to the graphic novel

Scrooge McSuck - May 7, 2006 04:54 PM (GMT)
I didn't know it was a graphic novel at first, which is why I dropped the argument in the first place. :P

It's cool, I understand.

But I can see the studio execs trying to change the name to "England Prevails" or "The Mask of Justice"
