| Bobcat’s Double-Double Duty With 18 points and 11 rebounds at Washington on Dec. 27, the Bobcats' Emeka Okafor eclipsed Miami’s Shaquille O’Neal for the most consecutive double-doubles by an active player during his rookie season, surpassing O’Neal’s 15 in a row during the 1992-93 season for Orlando. Okafor’s 16 straight games with a double-double are six more than San Antonio’s Tim Duncan’s streak of 10 during the 1997-98 season. Below is a list of active NBA players who recorded nine or more consecutive double-doubles in their rookie season. The last rookie to have more consecutive double-doubles than Okafor was 12-time NBA All-Star Elvin Hayes, who registered 60 straight from Oct. 30, 1968 to Feb. 22, 1969.
