This is mostly a shameless attempt to get discussion going on in this folder. So what's your opinion on the so called legend? Tomorrow I'm going to post his fight history and the records of his opponents. But go ahead and throw your opinions in.

I've already made my comments. I've seen all of his big fights on the UFC shows from 1995-97, and whenever he fought a real contender (outside of a fluke win over Dan Severn), he hasn't impressed me at all. He gets way too much praise for his shoot fighting abilities considering his losses to guys with far less credentials than he has.

Yeah, Shamrock definately had some of the most awful matches imaginable during the early days. It really is a toss up over Gracie or the Severn fight being worse.

I have to go with that Severn fight. Literally 25 minutes of NOTHING!

Shoot fighting to me is a lot like a Mike Tyson fight (in his prime). I don't want to see 20 minutes of hugging and weak punches. I want someones blood spilled from 3 teeth getting knocked out within 90 seconds.
