Description: Da Season!
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 2, 2006 04:59 PM (GMT)
Please tack this sucker up there when you get a chance.
So the season starts today....let's discuss.
S.T. Strickler - April 2, 2006 05:03 PM (GMT)
Been waiting for this thread.. And to start off, here's hoping for a decent turnaround for the Orioles.
Scrooge McSuck - April 2, 2006 05:04 PM (GMT)
Like the song says, it's the most wonderful time of the year.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 2, 2006 05:17 PM (GMT)
I turn into a giddy schoolgirl this time of year. I'm considering forgoing homework tomorrow night so I can stat track the Cards game.
S.T. Strickler - April 2, 2006 05:21 PM (GMT)
O's should win tomorrow.. According to ESPN Stats this morning, the O's are 11-5 on Opening Day since 1990. So at least there's some hope.
Scrooge McSuck - April 2, 2006 06:01 PM (GMT)
Yanks should lose tomorrow, considering their average of sucking the first week of the season, especially when it begins in the west coast.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 2, 2006 08:59 PM (GMT)
Cards better win tomorrow....Carp's on the mound.
Big F'N Swigg - April 2, 2006 09:09 PM (GMT)
I'm stoked, I get to watch the Red Sox/Rangers because I'm unemployed!!!
Scrooge McSuck - April 2, 2006 09:12 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the club, Swiggy!
(cheers for Texas) Go Teixeira!
Big F'N Swigg - April 2, 2006 09:16 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm going to put in some applications before the game tomorrow. So hopefully it won't last long
eStragand - April 2, 2006 09:50 PM (GMT)
<---points at laughs at you NORMALS!!
I have Mondays off. I have MLB Extra Innings. I have a bag of Ruffles, some French Onion dip and a six pack of Molson. Starting at 11am, I'll hop around and take in at least one inning of every home opener. Repeat next Monday.
Scrooge McSuck - April 2, 2006 09:51 PM (GMT)
Lucky... but my unemployed ass is going to watch as much of the 6 games on TV tomorrow as possible.
Big F'N Swigg - April 2, 2006 09:55 PM (GMT)

Where do you live? you're my hero
Mad Dog - April 3, 2006 01:43 AM (GMT)
I'm going to hook the XM up to the stereo system tomorrow and listen away.
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 01:59 AM (GMT)
How awesome... opening night, and it's fucking raining in Chicago. (claps at the timing of the weather)
Big F'N Swigg - April 3, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
DAMN YOU FOR SUCKING CC SABATHIA!!!

Hey now...go easy on Captain Cheeseburger
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 3, 2006 02:57 PM (GMT)
I can already hear ESPN backpedaling on their Indians predictions.

You know, if they weren't the ONLY major sports channels, they'd NEVER get ratings
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 3, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
I like Phillips and Reynolds fine, but I cannot stand Morgan as an announcer. I had to watch him call Cards-Astros games the last two years, and it might as well have been an Astros intra-squad scrimmage. He couldn't stop talking about them, and they're not the only team he does that with.
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 04:08 PM (GMT)
Lots of baseball on today, for those too cheap/poor to get Extra Innings...
Mets/Nationals at 1, Cubs/Reds and Red Sox/Rangers at 2, Dodgers/Braves at 4, Padres/Giants at 7, and Yanks/A's at 10. (EDT)
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 3, 2006 04:13 PM (GMT)
I was planning on stat tracking the Cards game, but it's during a class I can't skip....
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 04:28 PM (GMT)
Poor guy... just remember, Home Ec' is a class that will help you in the future, when you marry some whore that's too lazy to shake her ass into the kitchen and cook.
And WOOO! TINO! TINO! TINO!
WARNING! Kruk has said something funny for once, presenting his All DL Team, including A.J. Burnett, Jeff Bagweel, Cesar Izturis (or whatever), Kenny Lofton, and a host of others. [/Mean Gene]
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 06:31 PM (GMT)
Cubs are beating the shit out of the Reds 5-0, and it's still the top of the 1st. I'll stick with this game until the inning ends... which is now, so it's on to Boston @ Texas on ESPN2.
Big F'N Swigg - April 3, 2006 08:36 PM (GMT)
I hope this game shows the Reds new owner how much work he's actually going to have to do. They've got maybe 2 actual starters, and one of them just came over from Boston. GET SOME PITCHING
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 3, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
Cardinals are up 13-1 in the bottom of the fifth, and I love this season already.
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
Cubs is monkey spanking Reds still (although not as bad as I hoped), Braves have a 4-0 lead over LA, and Boston has Texas under control 6-2.
Oh well, at least I have the Yanks to look forward to tonight. :)

Dunn looks like a retard right now. They should've traded him instead of Casey
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 09:17 PM (GMT)
Was it Dunn who fell on his ass while looking at the ball hitting against the left field wall?

Yes, yes it was
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 09:22 PM (GMT)
That's going in the next years opening day montage. ESPN will be playing that all night too, I bet.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 3, 2006 09:23 PM (GMT)
My professor's a Reds fan, so when I go into class today, he told me I had to take my Cardinals hat off. I told him I'd take it off when they won the division, and I think I broke his spirit.
Big F'N Swigg - April 3, 2006 09:32 PM (GMT)
You didn't break his spirit, you just reminded him of the reality of baseball in Cincinnati. It's sad, because Cincy is a real baseball town without a real baseball team
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 09:35 PM (GMT)
Just be thankful your owner isn't some racist nazi bitch. Anymore.

At least the racist nazi bitch fielded a watchable team.
Though she did let them trade Paul O'Neill

It is sad. I've never hated the Reds or the Brewers, so every year I pull for them to do a little better.

What's worse is that of all the good players we've had, we've dumped the ones with good attitudes and kept the crybabies. I would love to be GM for a while just to get REAL ballplayers instead of Dunn & Kearns. Those two bitches need to go
eStragand - April 3, 2006 09:44 PM (GMT)
Derrick Turnbow.... looks the chubby kid with the black-rimmed glasses from "Bad News Bears" has grown up and gotten himself LASIK surgery.
Scrooge McSuck - April 3, 2006 09:44 PM (GMT)
I always feel bad for the Pirates and Brewers. Every year since I've been watching baseball, it seems like they're always a losing team, and since I was only a "watch now and then" viewer in 1990-91, I didn't see them much as winning teams. :D
