Title: WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007
Description: WWE Games
Imafuckingidiot - March 31, 2006 05:20 PM (GMT)
I got official word from ign.com that WWE is releasing the next Smackdown vs Raw game for 4 consoles. The game is being released on PSP, Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. I think this is going to be great for XBOX users who have not gotten a great wrestling game yet. I guess THQ decided to go with what works and give XBOX gamers a good wrestling game for a change. Too bad the Wrestlemania series is over with but I am excited for the next WWE Game. It will be released some time after Christmas. Hopefully they have regular titles in the game as well as created championships and legends for the 360 game. This game also appears to be the last for Playstation 2 (as long as Sony gets the PS3 finished and working). All the games are coming out at the same time Q4 2006. I believe that is around December. Well just wanted to pass that information along.

| XBox or XBox 360? |
I've heard it's coming out for both.

SD vs. Raw 2006 was awesome, so hopefully they can pull something out of their asses to make me want to drop $45 on another game. I'll probably stick with my 2006, though, since I have a rule for sports/wrestling games.

Yes, it is a damn awesome game. I buy the new ones every year, so I'll definately be picking this one up unless the fuck the gameplay over totally or something....

I've never understood why THQ would make a different game for each system
Scrooge McSuck - March 31, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
Milk the market even more. Instead of just buying one title, buy 3 different ones.
Big F'N Swigg - March 31, 2006 06:15 PM (GMT)
But it makes no sense when companies making major sports titles are basically offering the same game for three systems. If you ask me, it hurts the company more than helps

Well, not if they were GOOD titles it wouldn't. I bought an N64 JUST for the Wrestling games.

Unless you have a deal with the companies that produce the systems, it just doesn't make sense.

I'm still waiting for SvR06 to reach "Greatest Hit" status before I drop any money on it. The last time I got a wrestling game while it was still new was HCTP and I didn't play it enough to justify the rush.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - March 31, 2006 07:08 PM (GMT)
Rowe, you'll have to check out 2006, as we joint own it with a friend. It's damn good so far, though the stamina bar annoys me.
Scrooge McSuck - March 31, 2006 07:12 PM (GMT)
Rowe is even cheaper than me. :D
I'll buy a new game the first day, but if I bought the previous edition, and there's very little in terms of added modes/wrestlers/gameplay, I won't bother.

Out of curiousity, I'm just wondering if I'm the only one that does this with wrestling games.
When I play with friends of mine (who are about the wrestling fan equivalent that I am......aka NOT marks) we tend to do worked matches. We basically have the best matches possible and workout some sort of a sweet ending and whatnot. I thought it would be stupid at first, but honestly now it's like my favorite way to play the game. Anyone else actually do this?

Considering my character's finisher is the Ultimate Bomber Pin, I'm gonna have to go ahead and say no.

I'm not talking like using your own characters. It's like we actually book a whole show and go from there.
jamiegeist - March 31, 2006 09:35 PM (GMT)
That sounds sweet, doing worked matches with friends. I don't really have any friends that are in to wrestling games, and my most recent one is No Mercy anyway.
Speaking of which -- does Smackdown v RAW run the THQ grapple engine from No Mercy?

My answer's still no. Plague and I are pretty into it and can actually work a good match, but our other two friends who usually play subscribe to the school of "run/ taunt/ ankle pull outside the ropes".

So the press release claims it's for PS2, PS3, PSP, and XBox 360.
Looks like the XBox gets fucked again

When I would play with other people, no. Hell, I'm someone you don't want to play anything with period. You may find this hard to believe, but when I'm winning, I rub it in everyone's face and cackle like an idiot. Be it video games or cards, I can't help being a sore winner. :D

Scrooge, we'd get along so very, very well. Unless you were winning. Then I'd kill you.

When can we set up a playoff between you two?
